If youre feeling Mexican food and dont want to leave town youll be satisfied. Food is good but lacking significant flavor and/or spice. The value isnt there versus other quick service Mexican (Poncheros/Chipotle). If you want excellent Mexican do yourself a favor and travel to Fairfield wheres theres better options whether quick service or excellent sit down options. Mex on Main isnt bad, its just not going to wow you, and just satisfy a craving for those not looking to travel.

Considering what Mexican restaurants are nearby in Wallingford and Meriden, I was a little disappointed. I had the Chicken Ranchero Burrito and it had very little chicken. The taste was pretty bland, no real flavor or spice to it. The Sweet Potato soup was bland as as well and was very thick, more like the consistency of baby food. In general the ingredients seemed fresh but when you cant tell if there is chicken in your chicken burrito, it is tough to pay attention to the good.

Always drive by this place so today we decided to stop in a grab lunch, big mistake! Service was terrible. Kid taking orders was not the best with customer service skills, but the guy cooking the food was even worse! He was on his phone the whole time talking while making peoples food. There was people in there eating that had to take food back up to the counter as well because it was not satisfactory. Will never go back here.

Lets just say I do not normally write reviews on establishments. However, the service was sub par at best. Also the steak burrito tasted like steak ums were used. I have eaten at many healthy Mexican stand and restaurants and hands down this experience had to be one of the worst. Maybe I went on the wrong day (today) but I am weary to try this spot again.

The owners and staff here are very friendly. The salsas are excellent and theres a nice vegetarian selection. Overall, a family-friendly, eclectic, welcome alternative to chain Mexican restaurants when youre looking for something more full-service than a "Fresh-Mex" place.

I got the chicken ranchero burrito. It came w a "spicey" tomato based salsa that tasted more like pasta sauce. And there really wasnt alot of chicken in the burrito either.
