My girlfriend and I spent an entire Saturday at Lake Compounce and then stayed the night at the DoubleTree right around the corner. On Sunday we decided we would opt out of the free complimentary continental breakfast and find a local "hole in the wall" to get breakfast instead. A quick scan on Yelp yielded several restaurants in the area and we decided to give the ParkSide Cafe a shot. On a Sunday afternoon it was quite busy and we waited for about a half hour before deciding to just grab one of the sidewalk tables out front. We ordered our food after being served our drinks. I ordered the steak and eggs which also came with home fries. My girlfriend got the number 7, a standard breakfast spread consisting of bacon eggs and home fries. Everything was delicious and worth the wait. I would certainly recommend the park side cafe. The steak and eggs is solid and if Im ever in Bristol CT again and in need of breakfast Im getting the same dish.

We just ate there and I must say that I wasnt impressed at all. First, our waitress was super rude and never even smiled. Then they nickle and dime you on the extras. I got the French toast which was under cooked, not once but twice. Then to add chocolate chips, it was $1.99! A cafe mocha, was coffee with Hersheys chocolate syrup drenching it and it was smaller then my husbands coffee but it cost me an extra $1.00! The crepes were good. My husband had bacon, eggs and potatoes. The bacon was under cooked and the eggs werent what he asked for. I dont know why this place got such high reviews but well never go back or recommend this place. And by the way, unless its prepared by a world class chef, breastfast shouldnt cost you $40.00 in a small town outside the NY metro area.

Had takes out. Love that there is no card limit and I absolutely appreciated the staffs concern for my dietary needs. Im lactose intolerant and the girl was humble and the chef informed me of the butter in their home fries. The chef was kind enough to make a fresh batch without the butter. Overall, the wait time was quick and the staff were friendly. I would definitely use some seasoning though because the fries were on the bland side without the butter.

This is by far my favorite place to eat. The management is amazing, Thanks Jay., oh the food, the hot mess is my favorite every day menu item, the home fries are like. Nothing I have ever had. If you get lucky enough, and happen to like pumpkin, the pumpkin pancakes are ridiculously good. The waitstaff is always friendly, my only "COMPLAINT" about this place is the parking. Get here early and avoid the rush. 5 stars no doubt.

Our family really enjoys going out for breakfast- the Parkside is a new favorite place! The coffee was great, pancakes fluffy and delicious. The special (bacon and cheddar pancakes) were out of this world! Servers happily set up a table for our party of 7, quickly got the kiddos chocolate milk. Everything was delicious- we will definitely be returning!

Great food in a very nice and quaint neighborhood. One of the best things in Bristol. The only issue is the wait. The last time I went it was going to be a 45 minute wait. Ive only ever had their breakfast food, which was great, so I cant comment on lunch. The omelet I had was perfectly cooked. Not slimy and not too dry.

Waitress was nice, food was cold came out again eggs still cold. Home fries have no flavor at all. My husband didnt touch his home fries because he didnt like them and manager refused to take them off our bill. Place wasnt busy at all , waitors arent friendly . Never will I return again or recommend anyone to.

Saturday my girlfriends and I came to this adorable little café for lunch. The service was wonderful, the staff was very friendly, food was absolutely delicious – all 4 of us got something different and each of us said how yummy it was after just about each bite. I will definitely be coming here again!

The Parkside Cafe has a hometown feel with a diverse and wonderful menu. Service is excellent, the atmosphere warm and charming and the owner, JR, makes a special point to visit each table. That is restaurant service at its finest. I highly reccomend Parkside!

I dont think 5 starts is enough for this place. Awesome people and food. Always feel welcome there and the owners are great people to talk with. Sure its small and there can be a wait but its a must stop when I am in town.

I went with the kids here for the first time and this place was worth going to. Very delicious food and good ambiance. At 1 pm also this place was full, however even then the food was served in reasonable amount of time.

Clean place. Nice and friendly staff. Has a wide range of food selection for breakfast and lunch. But does tend to burn the edges of their breakfast food.

Quaint little restaurant and a variety of choices for a great price. You have to bring the check to the register, and at times its busy but its worth it.

The Empingao special is one of the best breakfasts in the Hartford area. This place is pretty far drive for me but I would come back in a heartbeat.
