I recently stopped here for lunch with my mother on our way through town. We ordered the clam chowder and the beet and crispy goat cheese salad over arugula. The clam chowder was delicious. The salad on the other hand did not arrive as the menu had described. The beets came over a plate full of spinach. The spinach tasted horrible with the dressing and other ingredients that were obviously not intended to go with it. I double checked the menu and inquired with the waiter and he informed me that they used spinach because arugala was "out of season." As it is early March I imagine neither the spinach or arugala are in season or local at this time, and must be sourced from elsewhere. I wouldnt have minded that much (even with my strong dislike for spinach) had the woman two tables down not had the same salad served over arugala... To sum up my review up, the soup was delicious, and I imagine most of the food when served and paired as the menu intended is. However, the service could use some improvements as it is never acceptable to lie to a paying customer, especially when the kitchen has blatantly made a mistake.

Very disappointed with Taco Tues. No special food offers ....no special Taco menu or Mexican choices.... $5.00 Margaritas between 3:30 and 5:30 only.!!!!! So get there early or they are $11.00 after that.....Ordered Nachos with pulled pork ..... Small platter with nachos and fair amount of shredded pork.... Hot peppers and Cheese Wiz on the top.....Yuk........Cheeze Wiz. Really? The bar server told us the Monterey Jack was in the middle.....NOPE...... Menu listed it with Monterey Jack cheese..... No sour cream , salsa or guacamole.....no real cheese ..... Total price of Not So Good Nachos....$16.00. They have a lovely place with awesome views..... However the menu needs help....and management issues I noticed need to be addressed....tried this place twice since I enjoy the setting, and had to persuade my friends that my first visit was a "bad " night.....and tried it again. Thats it....will not visit again! There are many other small places in the area that I am happier with.....

Ive come to the cafe numerous times in the past and today I was highly disappointed. The cafe menu changed and they were missing a lot of what they used to offer. Their prices went up and to make matters worse the menu below in the cafe was listed more expensive than the Taverns/restaurant for the same items. When I questioned in the cafe why the prices went up I was told "you get fries". I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 for the fact the food was still delicious. However the waitstaff below and above didnt really seem to know exactly what was going on and our waitress seemed to want to run off before we could even ask a question. For the ambience of the Tavern you would think that you wouldnt call a group of customers "Guys..." when it included only one male. I dont like that I felt deceived by the menus prices and I feel like its missing the something it once had in the cafe. I wont be returning which is a shame because I truly loved it last it year. :/

Excellent food and a really great beer selection too! I had the fish tacos, which really could have used chips with them, especially for the price. The poutine was very good, and the gravy was pretty close to what youd get in Plessisville, QC. The fish and chips were good and the portion size was good too. There are lots of CT beers here and itd definitely be a place to go in the evening for a quick one. Only downside is that the restaurant is short staffed. The waitress we had did her absolute best given the # of tables she had to wait on. The owner appeared to be there but wasnt really helping the overworked staff.

Very disappointed. I have supported this business from the beginning. I not only frequent this business but bring in other locals and out of towners. Went in a few weeks ago and made small talk with other bar sitters and unfortunately the idle chatter was taken wrong. This week when I arrived these same people shadowed the vacant seats at the bar and the waitstaff did nothing to help us out. Food also was sub par this time, not sure what that was all about, and the waitress rolled her eyes several times leaving our table. Too bad, we are good tippers, drinkers and eaters. Wont be back for a while if art all.

The food here is great, and Taco Tuesday may be my new favorite day of the week. The outdoor patio is pleasant to sit on, and the ducks wandering back and forth from the water to the building kept my daughter entertained in between waiting for her meal. There is also cornhole to keep others entertained while they wait as well, or if youre already done and just want to play for a while. Cocktails are abundant and well made, and although not a large one, the tap list is very good and features a few local breweries which is nice to see. I will definitely be back and look forward to it.

Wife and Ihad dinner last night and it was awesome. I wrote a detailed review on yelp, but to summarize, lamb stew, banana bread pudding,tacos, calamari special Steph behind the bar, the owners, all A plus. I am actually calling right now to see what is on for dessert for tonight. Please have the mussels and the lamb shank for next time

This place was a great find! We went for a quick bite and were well satisfied by their Taco Tuesday deal. The pork carnitas tacos are beautifully cooked. Perfect portions and cheap drinks are always welcome in my book. Even if youre a distance away, the drive is well worth it! Definitely coming here again.

Food is great. Drinks are awesome. Prices are good. Beautiful Atmosphere is amazing with outdoor seating, area for children to play, underwater fountain display in front entrance. Deli and Ice Cream shop at location. Parking area needs improvement, does not accommodate drivers.

Took an hour to just get fish and chips! Ordered the $18 cheese board. They ran out of honey, came with no walnuts, hardly any cheese, but still charged full price. First timer. Wont be returning.
