Our bartender was more interested in drinking and playing fantasy football then serving us and apparently management is okay with that. We walked in and sat right at the bar, then waited for service long enough that we debated going elsewhere. Finally the bartender slaps menus in front of us and walks away again for an uncomfortably long time. We finally order and our food is brought out to the bar by the cook and he tells the bartender its there. And then we wait. And wait some more while the bartender takes a shot. And then we wait some more. We finally had to ask this clown to serve us our food and hes such a shmuck he lies and tells us he was changing a keg and never saw it. What kind of ametuer bartender doesnt realize when someones behind his bar? The fries that came with my $15 sandwich were no longer hot so I waited for the bartender to ask us how our food was so I could ask for fresh ones. And I waited. And I waited some more. I pushed my fries to the edge of the bar (a solid indicator there was a problem) and then I waited some more while trying to get his attention. The bartender made eye contact and then looked away from me five times during this wait, only to check on us when we were finally done eating. He actually tripped over a glass washing machine right in front of us (guessing he had a few shots that shift) and checked his iPad several times (he was boasting about how his fantasy draft was happening right now) but couldnt be bothered to ask how our food was or check on us at all. Sometimes places accidentally hire bad employees or employees get out of line occasionally, that happens. But when I made two separate attempts to notify the management of what a s#!% show our experience was I got no response. No one acknowledged that our experience was unacceptable, leaving me to believe that this is the norm here. If youre a huge fan of $15 sandwiches with luke warm fries and terrrrrrible, drunk bartenders then youre in luck. On the other hand, if you work hard for your money then I would suggest you spend it elsewhere.

The Vail Ale house is a good remedy to the Sandbar and other fight ridden clubs that have occupied the same space over the last 20 years. The Vail Ale House provides a good menu and excellent beer selection while providing a great atmosphere for live sporting events. It is clean, rustic and fits the mountain living vibe.

Came into vail today from Oklahoma, my mom wanted trout, we found this Excellent place. Its Very nice inside. We had BBQ bacon burgers, egg rolls and the trout. All were excellent. Trout was seasoned perfectly, burgers were massive, could have shared one.

Great beer selection and great service. Our server Amber had good knowledge of the beer, as well as the food. Food was really good! Yeah the prices are a bit on the steep side, but if this was in Vail Village, no one would think twice about it.

Great place to bring groups: youll see large high-tops and a giant projection tv when you walk in. Plus, weekly fun like trivia to entertain and really good food. I see a lot of locals everytime Im there.

Shrimp tacos were awesome, great drink prices too! Quite a few menu options were unavailable because we came during shoulder season, which is understandable since most of the town is deserted.
