After a long day of traveling to Vail, the location of the Bully Ranch--right downstairs at the Sonnenalp--is what drew us. The food was, on the whole, good. We started with the spinach artichoke dip, after suggestion by the waitress, but it was pretty.. not excellent. However, the potato leek soup--the soup du jour.. not a regular menu item--was FANTASTIC. I wanted to ask the spa if theyd cover me in it instead of mud, but anyway.. I had the steak salad, which was decent, but Im still convinced Western restaurants cannot make ranch dressing.. dont understand the importance of buttermilk! However, the steak was delicious, and Im told the pork chop was good, too. The mango cheesecake was excellent, albeit not very mango-y.. and I was slightly confused by the strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, AND chocolate, but you know, whatever. Finally, the beer.. ahhhh, fantastic. Very cold, very large Fat Tires, and excellent service.. the waitress kept us fresh on beer at all times. Overall, I would recommend it.

If you are looking for a casual dining spot with very good food and service, I would recommend Bully’s. They truly have the best Buffalo burger in town, it will make your eyes roll back in your head. I also really like the trout. The Mudslide cocktails here are ridiculously popular, bet you can’t have just one. In the summertime, there is a beautiful outdoor patio. If you are into late night entertainment, just duck into the King’s Club in the hotel and enjoy the piano player. There is a small, wine list at Bully’s but if you would like a bigger selection, request the Ludwig’s list, they will be happy to serve you from it. The décor is cowboy western so you will feel comfortable in your jeans and boots. No need to change from your ski gear if you are looking for an “apres” spot. If you are coming for dinner, be sure to reserve ahead of time. The place is not very big and is very popular.

The service at this establishment was amazing, I dont know what this other reviewer is talking about. Yes, the wait was over an hour, in my opinion that is the basis of what must be a great restaurant, plus they dont take reservations so calling ahead will do you know good. The food wasnt anything to rave about, but good for the money and the portions were huge. Since we had to wait, we sat at the bar and we both we intregued with the knowledge and assistance of the bartender, Erik. I would reccomend this establishment to anyone and everyone for the great service and beautiful decor. We cant wait to return for the happy hour and invented drinks this place has come up with!!!

Sorry to give a bad review of a favorite place but .....Service was seriously lacking...went for a special birthday party and was so disappointed...food was ok..but service was not...not sure if a busy night. ..we asked for a spoon at least 5 times...never received...waited a long time at table before being acknowledged....kids got restless waiting so long to be waited on. Also, had to tell them PLEASE DO NOT PASS HOT PLATES OVER THE BABIES HEAD ...what is with that! They need better training it is a family establishment.

Expect to wait. Even if they have empty tables the ridiculous host will make you wait while the tables sit empty (policy is they wait 15 minutes after texting to let you know tables ready then text the next person and wait another 15 minutes. Also no cellular reception in the restaurant). The food was hit and miss. The appetizers were the best things on the menu. The quesadillas and wings were delicious. So were the ribs. The burgers not so much. Portions are huge.

My husband and I ate here after we received it as a recommendation from the concierge at our hotel for a good casual restaurant. They said they had a very wonderful large pretzel. Well, unfortunately that was the only thing that was wonderful. The waitress seemed less than excited to be waiting on us, and the food was sub-par. We werent looking for 5 star Vail dining, just some well cooked food with a view.

Chef Steve Topple is now at the legendary Sonnenalp (home of the best maître d’ in Vail!), and in the resort’s casual pub he’s introduced what is easily Vail’s best line-up of burgers, made with freshly ground beef, buffalo or elk — stacked higher than a Dagwood.

Fish and chips were great. Service was fast and accurate. "Definative" burger was great. Highly recommend the fries. Judge wait based on crowds, we went during off-season and were seated immediately. Off-season prices were a few dollars cheaper too!

Good food at reasonable prices for Vail. Good burger, decent ribs. Busy place with lots of families. Rustic atmosphere. Often busy once lifts start closing as many eat here before driving back to wherever.

Service was terrible. The waiter got 3 of our 5-person groups orders wrong. The waiter and the managers made no attempt to correct any mistakes. The food was also incredibly overpriced for the quality.

Classic Vail burger joint and bar in one of the best hotels in town. Dont miss the definitive burger, the house salad, the corn bread and the baked beans.

Excellent food. We recommend the Artichoke Dip as a starter. One is enough for 2 people. As main course we had the spare ribs...delicious.

My wife and I split the chicken nachos and each got a burger! Most satisfying and most reasonably priced meal weve had in Vail all week!

Very mediocre. My burger was okay, albeit overcooked (but it was removed from our tab). Nothing was terrible but I wouldnt go back.

Our meal was just OK and the seating was a little uncomfortable. We ate and left. Not a place you want to hangout after eating.

Loved it! This is the ticket! Price is right, too! Thomas is probably the most enthusiastic server Ive ever come across also!

It would have been 3.5 stars. The ribs and slaw were amazing. But the Asian salad was overwhelming with dressing.

Like it best for lunch. Too noisy and busy at night. Lots of families with children.
