What To Order: Baklava Rolls. Ive eaten here a few times now and every time the experience has been great. The wait staff is always overly friendly, service amazing, and the food great on all occasions. They had a make your own combo on the menu the last time I visited. I ordered the Kufta beef kabob, on saffron rice, a dolma and a falafel. When the food came out I realized I had over ordered due to all the sides and extras that come with the meals. They advertise on the menu that meats are all marinated in authentic spices imported from Jerusalem and the meats always have amazing flavor. You can tell the recipes and ingredients used here are authentic and fresh. The baklava here are absolutely amazing, crispy, flaky and made fresh daily. Filled with walnuts and honey, topped with green crushed pistachios. I always haul a dozen of these back to Texas with me. Now the following comments are not complaints, these are stories to emphasize the customer service this place offers its customers. One time we visited while a cappuccino machine, counter and plumbing was being installed, a waiter or owner profusely apologized over and over for the noise. Another time they didnt have a dozen bakalava left, and hadnt made the daily batch. Again staff apologized, admitted they were day old, and sold the remaining ones to me at a discount. Its these things that bring me back, because its rare that businesses really care about every customer that comes thru their door. This is one of my favorite places to eat while visiting the Manitou or Colorado Springs area. I will definitely return, bringing anyone traveling with me along for the experience. Excellent Food, Excellent Service.

We showed up 02/11/2017 1:30pm ish and looked like a nice place. First off my water tasted like bleach and when I asked for a new glass I received attitude from the waitress then took her about 10 minutes or so for her to get me a new glass of water. The 3 of us ordered our food and it took over 30 minutes to get our food while people who showed up after us were getting their food before us. In the meantime non of us received a refill on our drinks she barely checked up on us. The food itself was extremely over seasoned with dill thats all you could taste was dill in 3 different dishes and Im absolutely convinced they used canned chicken. Even the couple next to us didnt finish their food and from what they were telling us is they are regular customers but will never go back again due to this experience with the food and the waitress. She was so rude. When I went to pay I asked for a discount due to my grandma took 2 bites and gave it to me. Also asked for a discount because of the absolutely ridiculous wait time it took to receive service/water/food. The waitress rudely said "theres nothing I can do, what did you expect? Its cafe and that I had to an acquired taste". We spent almost 2 hours there and 15 minutes of that was eating the food and regretting having ever come in to eat.

I know of three locations for this restaurant, but this is the only one I go to, due to the other locations having generally worse service/food than this one. Heart of Jerusalem offers a few different things, namely lunch and dinner, a coffee bar, and ice cream. Nothing wont with the ice cream, though the coffee leaves a bit to be desired for people who usually do craft coffee. The food is great though. Its flavorful, interesting, affordable, filling, and attractive. Its also very consistent at this location, while the other locations are really hit or miss. I recommend ordering your food on the saffron rice and getting extra heavenly pita bread. The service here is also great. The servers are attentive and helpful. Only downsides Ive noticed to eating in is a slightly unkempt interior, both a little dirty and with fast-degrading furniture. A dividing wall or two might nicely break up the interior as well, making it more romantic.

Great food, a little pricey, staff was horrible. Took almost 20 min for waitress to take our order, then another 10 for our drinks, which we had to call her over to ask to refill multiple times, then my friend had to physically get up and get our own to-go containers because the waitress just would not come over to our table. There were maybe two other tables with people there, both of whom got there after us, and were receiving prompt service. The food was amazing, I recommend the beef, lamb, and falafel gyro if you actually decide to go. When I went to pay, the waitress gave me attitude about a Groupon I had purchased and almost wouldnt let me use it. Overall, wasnt a great experience due to the staff and Im glad I was able to use the Groupon because the food was a little expensive, but it was really tasty. If you can put up with rude staff, it might be worth it.

Stopped here because of the lovely tables next to the stream. However, the experience of ordering and eating got progressively worse as the visit went on. My child ordered a special Italian soda, which was all foam and about two inches of drink. When I asked for another I was told that it was a specially made soda and we had to pay for another. We got our meals which tasted good but when the check came it was very expensive and I saw that 2 dollars extra per meal was charged for fries. I asked for a container to take the leftover food and the waitress came back with a very dirty styrofoam container. We asked for a clean one. Then, about an hour after we left my daughter said she didnt feel good and spent the rest of the day sick. That night I also got sick. Unpleasant experience, bad service, got sick from the food.

This is our absolute favorite restaurant. We come at least twice a month. Today was not good though. The waitress said there was a new cook today. Well, the rice was so bland, the dolmas were SO bitter, the presentations were ugly, we got jipped on the fulafels (I didnt get any with my salad and my husband and friend only got two with their plates, normally 5 with plates two with salad), and WHY would you put a salad over a HUGE bed of hummus? Then the cook came out in the dining room and very loudly talked about how ugly the other chefs plates are. Theyre not. Theyre wonderful. This guys were sloppy and spread out everywhere. Then as the waitress was moving on to tend to her customers he was still talking jibberish to her. Poor girl. Please bring back the normal cook. We dont want to lose our favorite place.

Poor customer service from the waitress. Ordered 3 hot chocolates and took over 15 minutes to recieve them and for them to taste like they were made with Swiss powder packets. My mom ordered a falafel plate and it took over 20-25 min to recieve and other customers recieved their food quicker and finished their food by the time we finally got my mothers order. Waitress checked in every so often with the other customers but left us hanging on our orders. We werent rude and very patient. The platter didnt look appetizing or like it should have taken over 25 minutes. Waitress was rude and not attentive. Food was ok, would recommend the Heart of Jerusalem on Austin Bluffs.
