Hop alley, oh where to start. Drinks! Lets start there... Hop alley is a second restaurant concept stemming from its sister company uncle in the highlands. Hop alley is unique though - from the thorough explanations of the menu, to the loud ambiance, to the bone marrow fried rice. What?! Thats right my brothers and sisters, that is one entree that youll not want to miss so get involved and order it first. The duck rolls is also a must. This towering plate is described as something you should share. After a bite however, youll discover they were wrong - theres nothing shareable about this delicious discovery. Behind the counter of wait staff swooping in, picking up plate after plate youll find a line of chefs like scientists - something like a fast paced scene from chefs table. Theres one guy at the end that seems the most peculiar. He inspects the dish before it leaves. Adds a garnish, a pinch of salt, and whoosh - its gone. They say everything is a shared style but with a little investigation and strategic ordering, you can get in and out with just an entree. Did I mention the bone marrow fried rice and duck rolls? I did. So start there. It will not disappoint. Thank you for the food my friends. Eat up!

Hop Alley offers you an amazing opportunity to learn about REAL Chinese cuisine. If you bring no interest or context or history to this meal, then you will not understand and should go around the corner to the Lounge. However, if you want to be thrilled, reincarnated and experience the greatness of Chinese mastery, then go. Forget about the money - youve probably spent more on a plumber. And Chef Ni is a true artist - there are few of his kind alive. Notice that theres no one else in the kitchen, then check out the quality of the knife work and the attention to detail in the flavors, the playfulness, etc. Be amazed.

The staff was nice but also a little pretentious. Its usually easy to overlook that if the food made up for it. Our waitress brought us white rice in a Togo box at the start of our meal and told us it was a pallet cleanser. I was hoping the food would be better, Ive had authentic Chinese food and most of the dishes sounded good but when it was actually delivered it was just meh. The salt and pepper soft shell crab was one of the dishes I ordered and in hind sight I would have said no salt because it was overdone. A little bummed cause I love Uncle so much.

The food was fantastic!!! We had 5 people, and we shared several dishes: the crying tiger (beef flank steak), twice-cooked pork with palisade peaches, summer sashimi, duck rolls, bone-marrow fried rice, and garlic/shrimp noodles. It was all TO DIE FOR, and the service was impeccable. They dont take reservations, and will only seat full tables, so be prepared to put in your name and cell # and go down the street for a drink. We went on a Monday night at like 6:40 pm, and had an hour wait, but we were expecting it. Very popular, for good reason!

Great location, Atmosphere was different, music about two notches too high to make for good conversation during our sit down dinner. Went on a slow evening, but it seemed like more people worked there than could possibly be out on a weekday afternoon. Loved the concept of family style chinese food. Food was great, just felt like every dish was overpriced by about $4-$5. To round off the experience, my wife and I enjoyed two of their specialty cocktails. Very quality beverages, just once again overpriced by $2 or so.

Was excited to visit after reading the reviews but left disappointed. We found the food to be extremely spicy and there was no warning in the menu or by server. The menu is super tiny so not many items that are not spicy either. The drink menu is 4x bigger than food menu yet drinks can be served in plastic cup. Music is too loud making it hard to conversate. You have to be in a very special mood to eat here and not mind spicy food.

This is the kind of place that reminds you that a eating at a good restaurant is a cultural event just like a concert or play or film or etc. There is a character to the food and ambiance that is unapologetic -- its all masterful and you start to sense the idiosyncratic qualities that unite it all and give this place a feeling of Intrigue but Cohesion too. And I love the neighborhood, and I love Fish And Beer next door.

We went one a Wednesday at like 6pm and had no problem getting in, this may not be the case on a weekend night. Server was quick to greet and get our drink and food orders. Had the Long beans, the duck rolls and the beef chow fun. Personally I really liked the beef, my partner preferred the duck. My only gripe would be that the food seemed to come out a little slow. I would definitely come back though.

The food is impeccable. I feel that the taste of their dishes carry excellent flavor without being too outlandish like other places are. Simple, delicious dishes that still have a helping of that gourmet feel. The place is a little small but thats ok. I truly enjoyed the Hip Hop music, which did not disrupt my dining experience. Another dope restaurant down and only thousands to go!

Hop Alley is my favorite place to eat in Denver. The dishes are inventive and comforting with the perfect amount of spice. The service has always been top notch. Awesome rustic cider collection and perfect wine pairings from Matt Mulligan. Cocktails are spot on as well and go well with the food that they serve.

Heard good things but this meal and experience exceeded those high expectations. Highly recommend the Hakka Fish Noodle Soup and Ox 3 ad. We had such a good time that I stopped to make a review before we left. I never do that! Get here early. We are leaving with a packed restaurant!

Outstanding! Our second time here and I think it was better than the frist. We eat out about once a week, and Hop Alley is without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Denver. Killer cocktails, and wonderful service. Emily (I believe) was great, we loved all of her recommendations!

We scored the corner table with the lazy Susan; very nice. After rounds of great cocktails and plate after plate of delicious foods (I loved the tofu in bang bang sauce and the beef and broccoli larb the best), we left sated and happy. Its a place we would love to visit again!

Amazing food, very creatively done in a super casual citified ambiance. Super popular at this writing (understandably!) so there might be some planning required to check out this excellent offering in RiNo District of Denver. Highly recommended!

Holy cats, this place is unbelievable! If you are a fan of great people, great food and a welcoming (and cool) environment you should be kicking yourself for not being here yet. Dan Dan noodles and Alamosa bass are not to be missed!

Not where Uncle is, in terms of their understanding of their focus and overall maturity.....but hey.... Its a relatively new operation and the syncopation is still finding its pulse. Quality of the food was 85/
