When I travel for work, once I get to my hotel, I unpack and figure out where I am getting coffee in the morning. I know better than to drink the decaying packages of coffee in my hotel room to make with the $9 coffee maker. No, thank you. The coffee in the lobby? I am sure a kid has licked each item at that coffee bar. No, I am fine doing a quick Yelp search for the nearest and greatest coffee in the area. Fluid popped up as being, basically, around the corner from my hotel after this search, so I headed on over. Fluid is in a fairly nice looking, fairly new, fairly modern, fairly clean building. What is great is that when you head inside, it is a really cute local coffee shop with art on the walls and a great selection of to-go beverages. Similar to all of those local, salt-of-the-earth coffee shops, the service was not warm, but it was efficient. That is all I need it to be, so I was satisfied. I ordered an almond milk latte (so many coffee shops dont even carry almond milk-- bonus) and it was excellent. Nice work, Fluid. Stop on by. It will be a nice, quick break in your morning to get a good cup of joe.

Ive been going to Fluid since I moved to Denver in 2008. I love their Novo coffee selection. They do make the best lattes in town. Lately I mainly order their soy latte, unsweetened soy chai latte and their green and herbal teas. The cafe does get long lines in the morning, when offices start to open but their service has always been amazing. Jeff, the owner is a great inspiration to the community by supporting other local businesses, as well as creating awareness of environmental issues. He encourages customers to make a seemingly small but positive difference by choosing to bring their own travel mugs or stay in to enjoy the coffee in a ceramic mug, which I think makes the drink even more enjoyable. Not to mention that when you have it in the ceramic mug and theyre not too busy, they can serve the coffee with a beautiful design on top. Oh and they do have a great selection of food like their green chilli burrito and their southwestern hummus wrap...mmmm They also have computers, printer and fax service as well as free wifi and theyre open till 10. It makes it a great work environment. Cant beat that.

Im in here all the time looking for jobs, writing emails, and studying for sometimes hours on end. The staff is great, sometimes they slip a little bit in the service department, but all in all, they are all great individuals who all know A TON about coffee. They are always willing to chat too. Great people! I always get shots over ice, and they always give me a double walled glass so the coffee tastes strong and stays fresher, for longer. This shop has a great atmosphere and has many large tables for a good number of people to sit at. Its perfect for long study sessions! Prices: Not out of line, but things from the bakery case can get expensive. Coffee: Novo coffee is outstanding and these people know A LOT about the coffee they brew. Try the iced coffee...Its toddy-tastic!!! The Place: Relaxing. Good music, for the most part. Also good for people watching and meeting new folks. Ive been to just about every coffee house in denver. I believe that FCB has the whole package.

This is an interesting find. The neighborhood is Uptown, in the middle of some fancy apartment buildings, so I was expecting snooty, prissy surroundings and people... Its honestly really nice, but also laid back. The music was reggae (probably the barista guys personal choice), the barista was friendly, there are couches and tables, and the prices arent insane (chai latte was $3/3.65/4.30 for 12oz/16oz/20oz). I think Id definitely come again to hang out or work on a project. DISABILITY-FRIENDLY RATING: 8/10 -- There are no stairs at the entrances or inside. The sidewalks outside are well-kept. The paths inside are mostly wide enough to fit a wheelchair or walker, though you may have to move around a chair or two whose legs are in the way... fortunately theyre lightweight plastic. The single-occupancy bathrooms are larger enough for a wheelchair. GENDER-FRIENDLY? -- The customers & staff seem chill and friendly. The bathrooms are single-occupancy, though gender-labeled.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Denver! I started coming here five years ago and have taken many out of town and local friends here since and they all love it. Everything Ive ever gotten here is great but I am a big fan of their chai. My favorite drink is the dirty chai latte which is a chai latte with a shot of espresso. When Im not looking for as much caffeine Ill go with the regular chai latte. I have spent a lot of hours doing work, studying, and reading here. There is a back room that groups can book for meetings but when it is not booked it makes a great workspace. There are lots of healthy food options to fuel the hours of work. There are couches and places to cozy up with friends. You can enjoy a good conversations over a great cup of coffee or partake in one of the games they have available.

Seems like it is a great place for white suburban kids who think they are cool because they moved to Denver. (Oh yeah, now they know culture. And trust me, I love Denver. But there is a lot more to it than a few cliche shops.) Now, it is not "terrible". The people are nice. My tea tasted like it was trying hard to be unique. Honestly, I wanted tea today, not something found in a "lose weight" ad. But if I am around here for some reason and need somewhere to sit for a couple of hours... I suppose I will sit down here and just ask to donate a buck in the tip jar instead of wasting it on the tea or coffee. Although I would suggest going a block away to the park that has benefitted from the boost in the economy, and just enjoying the sunshine.

Good hangout spot, wifi works well, employees are generally very friendly. Because theyre so friendly theyre not always efficient since they may stop to chat with a customer at the single register. Owner could be friendlier, but I guess hes just not the social type. Coffee Beans are from NOVO coffee, which is alright. Makes for good lattes, but not great if you like black coffee. NOVO coffee only tastes good with sugar, whether it be the sugar in milk or added sugar or syrups. Fluid has some okay bagels, not bad, not the best. Pastries are good, not bad, but not the best. They have some nice drink to go options in the fridges. And some nice food to go options from the fridges. They have some group space, handy if you want to host a small event.

Ive been to Fluid many times with a meetup group. The coffee is terrible--it tastes like a tea made of cardboard and dried grass. I take my coffee black, so theres nothing to mask the flavor. They do make a good cup of mint tea, though, but somehow it takes five to ten minutes to get it. How can it take that long to put a tea bag in hot water? Its expensive, too--a small tea and a chocolate bar will set you back $9. I moved the meetup after the couches were replaced with upholstered chairs, making for an unsuitable conversation area. I found another coffee shop that was neater and cleaner with lower prices, better coffee and better service. I wish wed moved a long time ago.
