I brought my friend who was visiting me from Europe to Benihanas tonight. My husband and I come to Benihanas ALL the time and we LOVE IT! We knew my friend would be so excited that we brought her here! We always recommend Benihanas to other people. We called first thing Sunday morning and tried to get a 5 pm reservation bec we were bringing our 15 month old baby, but 5:15pm was the earliest we could get a reservation, so we said ok. We got to Benihanas at 5:10pm and we were not seated until 5:35pm (even after me asking about our reservation several times) :-( We sat down and waited and waited and waited and did not get our food OR entertainment until 5:50pm. :-( By 6:11pm due to the 35 minute LATE delay, our baby was now screaming and crying, so unfortunately my husband had to go home with our baby and did not get to eat his food. Me and my friend had to stay and eat as we had already ordered. My husband would have to wait until we got home with his boxed up food to eat. :-( Collacho was our chef who cooked our food and he was just terrible. Extremely boring. He was not excited or theatrical AT ALL. He hardly said any words to us. So many other chefs around us were VERY fun to watch and interacted with the customers and made them laugh. We did not have fun tonight at all. :-( The food tasted great, but we were sad that the evening did not go well at all. VERY dissapoiting. I was embarrassed I brought my friend there. I am not sure what happened tonight since we usually have an AWESOME time at Benihanas. :-( I am not sure we will go back for a long time now.

Not Good: My girlfriend and I have been to many Japanese grills, including other Benihanas. This was by far the worst location we could have picked. Service: Waiter was slow, only came to the table 3 times within an hour, didnt refill drinks often but when he did he spilled water on my wife and didnt collect our dishes. Chef / Food: The chef was not good to say the least. No interaction with anybody at the table, didnt understand anything we asked for, overcooked nearly all of the meat, under-cooked vegetables and a general low quality taste in all the food. Sushi: Didnt taste fresh and was served without soy-sauce. When we asked for soy-sauce they decided to give us a cup of soy sauce without a tray to pour it. We had high hopes for this restaurant because we thoroughly enjoyed the Manhattan location, but this was absolutely the farthest thing from it.

Was staying at the Embassy Suites next door and my son and his 2 friends walked over to get food. 45mins passed and drove there to find the boys sitting there with water and no food. They explained to me the waitress took 15mins to bring water and then waited another 15mins for her to return so they can place order. She never showed but the bar tender recognized what was going on and helped the boys order food... Thank you- Shawn The manager Jennie was trying to make excuses and even claimed that my boys made inappropriate gestures to the waitress and thats why Shawn helped instead. I knew she was bsn because these are well rounded kids. After confronting the manager she realized she was also in the wrong and apologized... She didnt seem sincere and said she would comp the boys appetizer but didnt... Worst experience ever...

If you are crammed for time, this is not the place to go. The three girls I nanny and I had a fantastic lunch here, it was so entertaining and delicious! Our chef Jorge was funny, engaging, and provided an unforgettable experience. The experience made up for the 45min we had to wait once seated (we had a reservation so we were seated right away) for appetizers to be served or our chef to arrive to our table. There was also issues with our check, but it was our waiters 3rd day and she was really apologetic about messing it up. All in all, we spent 2hrs at the location. My party was not in a hurry so I didnt mind the wait, and the food and experience was worth it, but if you are in a rush, I would not advise eating here.

The worst service I have had in a long time. The waitress was too busy taking to her co-workers, had to ask for a menu. I wanted a refill on my drink but, she was too busy cleaning only a couple of dirty tables; the rest where clean. When I ordered food I had to pick though the food because, Im allergic to shell food and they gave it to me anyway after I told her. I asked for a tall drink and I got a short. The manager tried to make it right by giving me the meal free and I felt compelled to leave some kind of a tip. I went to get change for a twenty and she was talking ignorant to the manager. I decided to give them a try even after I heard about a shooting that happened in there parking lot. I just wouldnt come back.

It was overall ok, me and my husband sat down for the hibachi experience we love so much, but it wasnt great...the portion sizes are small....and didnt have much flavor...they only flavored with soy sauce and msg...we paid $67 with a $10 tip so $76 for what felt like a soy sauce filled childs plate...also the "vegetables" that were put in the fried rice were minced...and the vegetables you did get with your meal was zuchini and onion....the zuchini was cut in thin strips and you only got one strip...also because your portions are so small they cut up your food to make it look like more....sadly your stomach knows its being fooled...we hear people raving about Benihana and we have no idea why...

Visited for our first time tonight. Food was good - not great. The vegetables consisted of just zucchini and onions. It is clear that all of the chefs are not of the same quality/experience. Looking around, it seemed like we were seated with a relatively inexperienced chef, which made the experience less than exciting. The restaurant itself was a little run down; sticky menus, stained ceiling tiles, and a pretty unimpressive atmosphere decor wise. On another note, we had a 10 month old in our party and the pace of the meal was not good - we ended up getting our salads/soups very quickly, however, the wait for our chef to arrive was almost 20 minutes after we finished the salads/soup.

Benihana is your classic american-washed asian (i wouldnt even call it Japanese as it would be an insult) eatery. Sure, the food is nice but is no different that the chinese takeout across the street. Very mediocre. It is over popularised and over priced. When there for a birthday celebration with the family and ended up paying 80 bucks just for my husband and myself. Yea it is entertaining for a first timer but the dude is doing the same routine as the guy on the other end of the room...so what? There is so many other delicious places in denver, but Benihanas is for people who are looking for a fancy place to eat overpriced subpar food.

I would give a 0 star if I could. First, the cook told my brother to "wake up." WTH? His eyes were opened. It was very offensive how he said it. Shrimp was partially peeled and super salty. Well all the food was very very salty on top of burnt zucchini. For this tiny portion of food our bill was over $90 (for 2 people). The waiter only checked on the family of five we were sitting with. When the guy next to me got three refills my glass was left empty until it was time for dessert. Felt very uncomfortable and had to wait for a long time to even see our waiter. Would never go back. Used to like this location. Time for new management:)
