Lets get real. For my first visit here, it wasnt the food that I hated. The food was good and what youd expect from a deli, even Jimmy Johns. What I hated was the ridiculously slow service. Went on a Tuesday during lunch time. Of course the line is long, all the way back to where the wall begins to start it. The person who recommended the place said "dont worry! it looks long but the line moves fast!" One cashier during the middle of the lunch rush, and just under 30 minutes later, we placed our orders. I can cut some slack for the ordering part of the experience, because there was only one cashier. However, I cannot justify waiting 35 minutes for what appeared to be a fully staffed (and VERY SLOW MOVING) kitchen to make a bunch of sandwiches and salads. Although I ordered after my friend, my sandwich came out before her standard Cobb salad. How is that possible - for the sandwich to come out first, but also for a Cobb salad to take that LONG to make? You know how Jimmy Johns is freaky fast? If you want the same quality sandwich, but freaky slow, then go to Backcountry Deli. All I know is Im never coming back as I dont want to waste an hour waiting for food at a place that should be much, much quicker!

Probably my new favorite sandwich shop, and Im definitely not alone! Save yourself the hassle and either call your order ahead or go after the lunch rush! You can easily spend a full hour in line waiting to order and get your food. But there is a reason for that, everyone knows these are the best sandwiches. My personal favorites are the Summit (Cranberry, Ham, Brie, & Bacon) or the Pilgrim (thanksgiving in a sandwich). Also do yourself a favor and instead of the mass processed potato chips hanging at the front, get a small side of their house made potato salad!

I have enjoyed Back country dozens of times, a favorite is meatball Monday. The owner mans the register most days so take the recommendation if he makes one. They have a few off menu items so ask and take a risk. Had breakfast with coworkers and went with the off menu item of McUSA. It was fantastic, a bit spicy and overall great flavor. Enjoy the sandwich the chefs way and ask about off menu items for some great treats!

Great sandwich shop. They have excellent soups, salads and sandwiches. It draws a large lunch crowd, so it pays to get there a little before noon. Highly recommend my favorites: the Cobb Salad, Pozole (soup/stew) and the Fourteener (roast beef sandwich). It has booths, tables and some outdoor seating as well. I am a sandwich guy, and this place is my favorite in Denver.

I ordered a sandwich that coast almost $10 (with taxes). I asked that they toast it and they tossed it into a microwave . Then I got back and it didnt have all the ingredients that they had posted on the menu. Ive had some tasty sandwiches there, but for the price, it certainly isnt worth it. I wont be back. If you do go, dont get the sandwich toasted.

The food wasnt terrible, but this restaurant was listed as gluten free friendly. I dont believe the addition of a gluten free bun or bread is all that is needed. Also, I ordered immediately after my friend and while he received his food within a few minutes, I waited 15 minutes for my food. It did not seem like an organized environment.

This is THE BEST sandwich shop downtown and with Fontanos closed... it reigns supreme as THE ONLY good sandwich shop. The meats are excellent. The atmosphere and wifi are great. The prices are a bit high but I still find myself determining its worth it. The only real downside is meatballs are only available on Mondays! They are fantastic!

Now back for a better review.First: The Ridgeline is a great sandwich. Top notch, a real sandwich! Pack one for the golf course. Second:Breakfast named The Ranchero. A tasty breakfast sandwich that got me through to a late lunch. Third (Most anticipated) Third:The Ba Mi. This is ridiculous...

I visit Backcountry often. Their food is always fresh and flavorful. Although Im not a vegetarian by any means, my favorite sandwich is the Sherpa (grilled eggplant, asiago, sweet roasted red peppers, tomato, romaine lettuce, garlic mayo) toasted on a french baguette. Wonderful, every time!

This place is fantastic! The sandwiches are full of unique, fresh flavor, and the atmosphere is fun! Exposed brick, topographical and road maps as table tops, and hardwood floors make you really feel like you are in the back country! Definitely take some time to eat here!

They have some pretty decent sandwiches, and they even let you make your own custom sandwich. It seemed a little pricey for what you get, so I personally would like to explore other places before coming back here. Dont get me wrong, though, their food is good.

Nice fresh ingredients for a great deli sandwich. Have some food local beer selections as well. Only complaint is that its basically a sandwich I could make at home if I had all the ingredients. Still a great stop for a quick and light lunch.

Really good Gluten Free bread. We ordered through Grubhub and selected to "Make our own sandwich". They made it perfect and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. Discovered this place on a Denver Eats bike tour. Would recommend :)

Very good quality sandwiches. Not the "best in the world" but better than what you will find 90% of the time somewhere else. Skip the corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, very dry... almost everything else is very good though.

Have eaten at backcountry multiple times and it is always delicious. The owner is super nice and so are all of the employees. Ive even catered out for big groups multiple times and the order is always correct and done on time.

Nancy and I would like to extend a welcome to BCP in LoDo.... We really love the location of your store and how fast we can get in and out with our lunch. Fresh produce and great service with a smile. Very tasty!

It was a good sandwich, not memorable though. All ingredients were fresh, it was just lacking in flavor. I do like that the table tops are maps of Colorado. We got the turkey with oven roasted tomatoes and a Cuban.

Pork Tortilla Soup and the Ridgeline (roasted turkey, bacon, sharp cheddar, avocado and garlic mayo) were awesome! I personally like a leaner pastrami, so that was very good for me as well.

Seriously. Go buy a sandwich here. It melted my heart like the French Brie dripping down onto the smoked ham, cranberry chutney and honey cured bacon on their summit sandwich. WOAH!

If you are looking for somewhere to get great, fresh, well prepared sandwiches, this is it. Great place for a spot of lunch, right off 16th St. Mall.

Sold. Breakfast all day. Take my money. And it was delish. Pastrami? Amazing! I would give more than 5 stars if I could.
