We stopped by Brooks Place Tavern for lunch on the way towards a weekend in Bailey. We thought the patio looked lovely but it was rather windy so decided to go inside and sit at the bar. Our bartender was awesome and made me the Conifer Mountain Cucumber Cooler, which was basically a gin and tonic with cucumber, lime, mint and a simple syrup added in. It was refreshing and delicious. I ordered the Summer Club minus the pepper jack cheese and my boyfriend had the Seared Ahi Tuna Crisps - both were delicious. My sandwich has smoked turkey breast, guacamole, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and jalapenos on this delicious toasted and hearty wheat bread. All the flavors melded together nicely and the jalapenos gave it quite a kick - those suckers were spicy! The Ahi crisps came on a bed of cabbage with a creamy wasabi sauce that was yummy and the tuna was paired with cucumbers and red onion all on crispy wontons. Great combination. The atmosphere was casual and fun and the crowd around us seemed as happy as we were. We would definitely eat here again and would encourage others to drop in as well.

Stopped here on our way through to Denver. Lovely view of the mountains from the patio. Inside has lots of comfy seating and plenty of TVs for sporting events. We sat on the patio as it was a gorgeous day. The food was definitely above average for "bar food". We ordered the "Lavosh" appetizer which we had never heard of before but it was excellent...crisp flat bread with grilled chicken, fresh sliced jalapenos and strawberries, feta cheese crumbles and balsamic glaze. Yum!! The table next to us even asked about it. One of my sisters ordered chicken kebobs which were deliciously grilled., and her salad was fresh greens not iceberg. My other sister ordered nachos and while they were good, there was way too much cheese on them. Hard to mess up nachos, though so we ate most of them. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was the service was a bit slow. It took us a couple times asking to get napkins and silverware. But it wasnt a huge deal and it was such a nice day it didnt detract from the experience. If you find yourself in this area Brooks Place Tavern is a good choice!

I always feel like I take my chances whenever I come into this place. This last time was no exception. It took 20 minutes for someone to bring us water and 40 minutes for a couple of sandwiches to show up. Others around us received their food before us even though they came in after us. When I complained, the wait person looked at me like I had just sat down and that I had nothing to complain about. She told me that some food takes longer to cook- which was funny since I had ordered a salad. Very rude, no apologies. Not going back. It seems from the other reviews that this is an ongoing issue and no desire by the owners to do anything about it.

Me and my wife went here for dinner. We were seated and our waitress asked us for what drinks we would like, I got water my wife got a soda and then our waitress left to get them. and then continued to walk past us never bring our drinks, never stopping to ask us if we were done looking through the menu, was avoiding eye contact with us and this went on for almost 40 minutes before we got up and left. I dont know if she was just some punk who moved here to smoke weed all day or what but Ive lived on 285 my whole life and would never treat anyone like that up here. We need to stick together.

Terribly inconsistent. Have no idea why. Their food is extremely overpriced and they really screw you on the amount of food you get and quality. The people who work there dont care. My advice would be to only get a drink there, no food. Takeout is especially horrible. Every time Ive gotten takeout they obviously put far less food. They for whatever reason cook your food terribly every time you do takeout. All I know is Im never going there again.

Very over priced, all of the entrees except 1 were $20 or more. The appetizers were all nearly $10 or more. I got a burger, and two beers. My tab was $25+, with a 25% tip it put me well over $30, for a burger and 2 beers! Now, if the food was exceptional, i would have just marked it down as a high end place that ill stop at to treat myself every once in awhile, but it was mediocre bar food, nothing more. I will say the service was very good.

So I drove from Denver to have a nice lunch and a beer. When I asked Jason our waiter if he had any blond type craft beers, he said that he quit drinking two years ago and had no clue what was offered and said he would ask the bartender. First and foremost never hire a waiter that tells you he is a recovering alcoholic at a bar & tavern. We didnt even order lunch we were so upset. I will NEVER return!!!!!

The food is always decent. The service is the worst part. The employees would rather complain to each other at the hostess desk rather than do their job. Our drinks are never refilled and they are only attentive when they bring your food. Unfortunately living in a small community our choices are limited. We keep going hoping things will get better and we are disappointed often.

If I could give it zero stars I would. This place was awful. The food came out cold and my husband found a hair in the soup! The manger Michael McCollen was rude and disregarded the whole thing. We came in with a group of 6 and spent a substantial amount to be treated so poorly. We are locals in the area and will be taking our business down the road to 3 Margaritas. BE WARNED!

bad service, bad food, bad prices, bad management, bad owners because they never fix the problems so many other people have expressed. My family and I always give it another shot wishing our experience would be better but this is never the case. We now refuse to give this establishment any more of our hard earned money. Pull it together Brooks.

All the food was quite enjoyable, an excellent selection of draft beers, family friendly, with a quite attentive wait staff, or at least our waitress. We all had excellent burgers, and I quite enjoyed the maple bacon creme brulé, although it was a tinge on the small side, that is to be expected from a novelty brulé. We definetly will be back.

Passed this place dozens of time, but just recently paid my first visit. I was pleasantly surprised. Nice atmosphere and delicious food. Theres outdoor seating which is enjoyable. First visit was on a Friday evening so it was a tad busy which slowed our service down somewhat. Would recommend it for a nice meal.
