Its a great place, especially for lunch on a sunny Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Burgers are great, staff is super friendly, smoking is allowed indoors and out. The big white dog that wanders from table to table looking for someone to scratch its belly is fantastically funny. I seriously recommend this place to anybody to wants a nice little ride/drive out into the Texas countryside for great food, great service, and great entertainment.

Excellent country stop or destination. Remote, beautiful country drive and location. The large Motorcycle crowds are friendly and dont detract from the relaxed experience. LOTS of space indoor and out. Several pool tables and dont forget to say hi to the parrots. Good menu, good food, surprisingly attentive and energetic waitstaff.

We were heading out to Bastrop for our annual girls weekend. We stopped for gas in Brookshire and asked the locals for a lunch recommendation. The Thirsty Parrot is a great place to stop. Delicious food, fantastic service and parrots to talk to during our meal.

10/10 food and service. Not to mention a cool cool bar for being so far out. 4 pool tables, golden tee golf and buck hunter arcade games, a karaoke/performing stage, indoor and outdoor seating. My hunting property is down the road and we always swing by.

Nice people and the talking Parrots are so funny. Brandi is an awesome bartender - extremely friendly and service oriented. Another great place for motorcycle riders : ) or anyone looking for a great burger cold beverage and big smiles

Great stop for a nice cold one, lunch or dinner, awesome Jalapeño buns too! Good place to hang with friends, just stop in if youre traveling & need a good place to stretch your legs. Friendly folks and staff too.

The staff is always very pleasant....food is good...views are decent....like visiting with the parrots....nice ride to get to their location....have not had any issues and will definitely be back....

There are several other restaurant options, but The Thirsty Parrot is consistently good with the best tasting and largest selections of buns. Great atmosphere and their $2 16oz beers is unbeatable.
