Actual food, cooked on an actual grill. Real smoke and fire. Grilled to perfection. Steak fries, fried golden and crisp, lightly salted and bagged fresh. This is what a burger place should be. This is how a burger should taste. The staff is friendly, and know how to cook a good burger! From the exterior, it doesnt look like much, but this is a good, telling trait. Its not flashy, interior or exterior, but it is visible from the street. Once you enter this den of deliciousness, your olfactory is greeted by freshly cooking fries and grilled burgers with a hint of smoked meats. Walking up to the counter, youre greeted by a friendly staff member and a somewhat imposing menu. Not saying the menu is overcrowded, but that the options are all enticing and you need to pick just a couple items. For my own part, I will say that the #1 Hefty Burger is absolutely delicious. It is not a "dry" burger and you will make a mess if youre not careful. This is not a driver friendly burger! My wife received the #5 which is also a mess maker but is, in her words "amazeballs". Do not be put off by price, this is good food and I made out of there with 3 full meals for $30 which Id happily pay again for this quality food. This is THE burger joint of West Sacramento. So next time youre here, or if you live here, like me, and have never been, ignore the McDs next door and come here. You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I have been going to Hefty Burger for 16 years. The last two or three years the food quality has deteroirated. They no longer use good bread rolls, just the cheapest they can find at the supermarket, they no longer marinate their chicken kabobs (at all much less 3 days as before), their pastrami went from succulent to dry and horrible, even their French Burger (used to be my favorite) no longer resembles decent food. Their prices are quite frankly outrageous for what you get and the steep decline in quality. If you want a good burger go to Whiteys on Jefferson or In and Out on Reed.

On March 5th went thru drive thru ordered hamburger with large fries n junior cheese egg sandwich fried hard with large fries. Got home started to eat it egg was not cooked squirted all over clothing, hamburger meat was old n cold with one pickle n both had stale buns. Fries were small n burnt. Disgusting n threw out. Usually liked hefty burgers but surely not now. Will never go back n remember best advertisement is word of mouth. You just lost out n need a new cook.

This is the best burger Ive had in a very long time. I had the Hefty Burger number 1 combo and it has pastrami on it. The burger is super delicious, the pastrami is totally lean delicious, the fries are good too and Im going back there really soon. Also the guys that work as the cook and the one that takes the orders were really really nice and respectable and I really like them too so I would highly recommend this burger place to everyone!

I eat here all the time because I work nearby. Their gyros are amazing and they give you a ton of meat too! All the meat and veggies are fresh. Some people might not find the outside appealing or may say the inside is outdated, but that just means a shorter line for me. Never once has the service or food been bad, I will continue to come back here and highly recommend it! Oh yeah they also have a drive thru! Whats not to like?! =)

Ive eaten there on a couple different occasions and also ordered food to go and each time the food was fantastic! The dining inside is a little bit plain butt the quality of the food outweighs the design of the restaurant besides who really cares what color the walls are painted when you leave with a full belly and a smile on your face!!

The Sprite was out. When I went to tell them they said, "O.k." And they never changed it during my whole visit. Ordered 5 fries & only got 4 with the food. The fifth fry did not come until we had finished our meals & were ready to go. They were not apologetic or friendly. I feel as if I were a nuisance - not good service.

This place is wonderful! The curly fries are a must. So affordable and delicious! We sat on the patio upstairs and had great service. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, especially the owner. I got the veggie burger (which has grilled onions and avocado) and it was amazing!!! Cant wait to go back :)

The Sac Kings burger was delicious and made-to-order fresh. Pastrami, swiss cheese, onion rings and a fried egg, all on a massive patty. I brought my appetite and could barely finish it, which does not happen very often. Very reasonably priced at $6.99

Very poor service. Son dropped my sandwich on the floor by accident and they made me buy a new one instead of replacing it for free while showing no simpathy what so ever. The fries were also over cooked. Over all very poor and disappointing service.

They have changed. They used to have the best big juicy delicious burgers and sandwiches. Something changed, Im not sure if there is a new owner, but the last time I went my bun was bigger than the patty. Its just no longer worth the the price.

Hefty burger has been serving some of the BEST burgers in my opinion for over 15 years that i have had the pleasure of knowing about them! Plus my wife and i got to paint the entire interior of the place! Burgundy, orange, cream, and pistachio!

Burgers and milkshakes superior to those provided by competition, but outside bathroom (unclean) and (indoor) radio which is far too loud. Get with the program guys! This could be a really top notch place!

The best REAL chocolate ice cream shake! All the burgers and sandwiches are "hefty" sized. Go with an appetite youll leave satisfied. The guys here are always polite and serve with a smile!

Best burgers Ive ever had. Inside isnt too fancy but clean despite other reviews. The Guy who works here is quiet and kinda stern but I still enjoy the service and food!
