Came here with my daughter and my parents in the afternoon, everyone loved their BBQ. We did family style and ordered a combo platter (on the last page of the menu): Memphis style baby back ribs and beef ribs along with 2 sides: stewed tomatoes and chicken rice, with cornbread. My father stated its one of the best ribs he ever had (the last time he could remembered), especially being from New York City. Also, theres sauces for your convenience ranging from sweet to ultra spicy to tangy, but these BBQ have enough seasoning and doesnt need any additional flavoring; its fine on its own. We met the owner today and he was super friendly & approachable. I will highly recommend this place to my NY friends whoever comes to visit LA & Venice/Westside area. Highly Recommend: tried everything on the menu, including the different sides and its delicious!

Not worth the price. This place seems legit when you read the menu; but be prepared to pay a lot for nothing. When we first got our food, they didnt bring any utensils, so we had to flag someone down to get some. Not a huge deal, but for the price, I would expect impeccable attention to detail. Perhaps it was the timing or the cooks on staff for that day, but our ribs (the most important and expensive part of the meal) were weakly seasoned and there was hardly any sauce on the ribs! On top of that, they were lukewarm and made up of mostly fat. They were not tender, they did not fall off the bone, they were simply bones with fat attached to them. They took $10 off of the check when we told the waitress that we barely touched our food; But still: $50+ for 2 sides (the only good food was the mac and the collard greens) is pretty ridiculous.

I only tried this place because it was recommended on the Food Network and I must say that I was not impressed. The only thing worth raving about was the appetizer, which was pulled pork or beef (your choice) served on sweet corn bread with cole slaw in the middle. Everything after that was down hill from there. My family is from the south so I know good soul fool & bbq. The bbq was okay but Ive had better, the collard greens were edible but once again Ive had better, and the mac & cheese was a true disappointment. Nobody can call their dish TRUE mac & cheese if it taste like it comes from a box. Also, the prices were quite high for a hole in the wall. Our bill came to $64 for 3 dishes. I would expect that from a true restaurant but not from a corner dive.

The food was just eatable, and very expensive, I expected more for the money. We went to Santa Monica beach and wanted to eat ribs, so we asked and they recommend this place. The service was ok. The placed its kind of old, and kind of hard to find parking, they had the doors open so we had flies flying all over our food. The food to me was just plain. The chicken tested like it was boiled and they added the barbecue sauce over it. The ribs didnt have flavor also. I guess I have gone to famous daves many times and expected the same or better. We should had gone to famous daves instaid, it was like 20 mins drive, the food its cheaper and more delicious.

I had such high hopes for this place. A co-worker had been raving about Baby Blues for months before I finally went. So disappointing. I ordered a half-rack of "Memphis-Style Ribs". Memphis style is a dry smoked BBQ, but Baby Blues really emphasizes the DRY. First off, this was the smallest half-rack I had ever seen (possibly taken from a pigmy pig) and then it was so dry, it was like chewy pork jerky. In retrospect, I should have sent it back and ordered something else because Im pretty sure they served me reheated BBQ from the day before. If you want good BBQ, go to Phillips. Dont bother with Baby Blues.

THIS IS A REAL REVIEW AND NOT WRITTEN BY THE RESTAURANT LIKE MOST OF THE OTHER ONES SEEN HERE. BECAUSE, GETTING LESS FOR YOUR MONEY AND COMPLETE MISREPRESENTATION IS WHAT YOU WILL SEE ON THE MENU AT BABY BLUES. SEE "TEXAS STYLE BEEF RIBS" - IT IS ACTUALLY JUST ONE RIB AND FOR $22.00. SHOULD BE CALLED ETHIOPIAN STYLE RIB. ALL BONE AND LOTS OF GRISLE. THE STAFF IS OKAY, BUT MORE INTERESTED IN SERVING THE TAKE OUT THAN THOSE WAITING 2 HOURS AT THE THEIR TABLES OR IN LINE. HOLE IN THE WALL USUALLY MEANS GOOD FOOD AT GOOD PRICES. NOT HERE.

Free WiFi, good music, REALLY GREAT STAFF!, good sauce, the beef links were awesome, they have lunch specials 11-4, plenty of sauces that are similar to Kansas City Style BBQ, I was looking for a chill spot to work on the computer other than a coffee house cause they seem to have a tense vibe(maybe too much caffeine). $11 for a lunch special plus $5 tip (cause I never sit down to eat and leave less than $5) I would go around 2:30 -3:00ish if you plan to camp with your computer to avoid hogging a table. There are about 8 tables with a plug at.

I saw babys on diners "drive-ins & dives" it was the first place that I had seen on the show that was close enough for me to get to. So I packed up and headed down the cost. If you didnt know it was there you could miss it easy but I found it and boy was I happy I did me & a friend tryed the beef&pork ribs cat fish corn bread and pulled pork sandwitch it was Amazing!!!!!! Never seen a rib so big or tasted one so full of flavor, cat fish was awesomem. So if youre in the hood stop by grab a big beer & some of the best BBQ in Cali.

Beef rib, ask about market price, what? I probably printed that wrong, but the nice young lady explained that its expensive, but the beef was "free range", so the price varied according to availability... My only regret? Not taking home that gigantic cow rib. The bone was huge! It would have been hilarious to watch all three of our small dogs tug on that. It would be a hit on YouTube. Next time. That beef rib was the schiznizzle! WOW that was good. I had to take half of it home in a box... it was HUGE! Best I ever tasted!

The food was mediocre. My coworker and I went here for lunch after passing by many times before. We both ordered the same BBQ pork sandwich exactly the same way. (NO COLESLAW). Low and behold COLESLAW covered our sandwich. Be knows there are not many things on this sandwich so asking for no slaw should have been simple. The sides were just ok my potatoes were a little cold felt like not much effort was put in to the food. The taste was good just execution and customer service not the best.

Aweful - over priced, food wasnt good, actually got sick from it. I guess if youre from CA and dont know real bbq then you might not know better, but to an experienced bbqer this is a sad excuse for "soul food" that the sign advertises. The food isnt good even compared to non bbq and several items are just plain gross... Save yourself some cash and an upset stomach and stick to seafood while visiting CA. Leave the bbq for Southerners that know how to do it properly...
