Ive been living in Upland for almost 10 years and have been coming to Rancho Los Magueyes since they reopened under new ownership. Our family would go almost every Friday, then it was twice a month now its about several times a year. Even the staff has commented that they hadnt seen us for a while. The food is great but in recent years the service has been terrible which has kept us from returning. We were just there last month and waited way too long for our food, service was poor. They have a young girl who appears to be the hostess and a young man I think for chips/salsa and while we waited for our food, they spent most of the time chit chatting and the girl on her phone. Rarely did they look up and sadly the manager appeared to be okay with it meanwhile we are waiting on refills. When the food did come our food was cold but the shrimp soup was very hot, poor timing on food prep. The soup was extremely salty, my husband ate the shrimps and thats it, money wasted. Sadly, we left disappointed and both my husband and I mentioned we needed to find another Mexican restaurant and the experience was a reminder as to why we dont frequent the restaurant as we did before. The staff is nice and friendly, food is good but that doesnt matter if you have very poor service. Luckily Mexican restaurants are hard to find.

I read the reviews before coming and ordering, seeing both high marks for the food but low for the service. Tip #1: If you go to a Mexican restaurant and expect taco stand wait times, youre going to have a bad day. This turned out to be a restaurant with a broad menu, authentic dishes, and good tasting salsa. The food came exactly when I would expect it to from a restaurant that doesnt do pre-heating en masse. If youre tight for time, order ahead or order simple--tacos a la carte. Tip #2: If your gringo tongue has a tough time pronouncing the name, if all the front and back kitchen staff and most of the patrons are Hispanic (in Upland, no less), youre probably going to have a good meal. Ill definitely be back next time Im near Mountain and Baseline.

Good food, but the service is horrible. been there twice and last night we had to wait 10 minutes to get our order taken, 35 minutes to get food, and asked to get a box for leftovers and he never came back. I paid my bill to be respectful, but left no tip. I wrote a little message on my check and hopefully they will get their act together. It seems the right hand does not know what the left is doing. Bye the way it was not busy.

Ive been coming here for 10 years. Hands down my favorite mexican restaurant in Southern California. Try the Picadillo Burrito with a Chili Relleno inside. Its an off menu item. Service is great. Owner is terrific and theyve really upgraded the interior.

The service is great. Cocktails and food are awesome. Arturo can make an awesome chili rellano. Isidro, Carlos, and Sammy are the best. Taco Tuesday is a no brainer!
