When placing an order either by fax or on the phone, the service is terrible and the staff are rude. Orders are routinely not on time and made wrong. Wrong sandwiches given and when asked to please have them ready on time and be the correct sandwiches they are very rude to you on the phone no matter how nice you are. I was told that "THEY ARE NOT PERSONAL CHEFS AND IF I AM NOT SATISFIED THEN I SHOULD FIND ANOTHER DELI" I was told that the man I was speaking with was the owner. I WILL be finding another deli and I would suggest that if you have something wrong with your order then you had better keep your mouth shut or you wont get ANYTHING. SOUNDS A LITTLE LIKE THE "SOUP NATZI" TO ME.

There was.a.place called the brown bag deli which had a "healthful," turkey on squa (brown) bread with an avacado spread and alfalfa sprouts. After the place closed for good, I was led to The Rhineland Deli, 1987, in search of a "Healthful" and stumbled.upon their Turkey on Sourdough with avacado, lettuce, tomato, red onion and yellow mustard (everything) which can be made anywhere on any kind.of.bread but nothing has compared and its what I.always get and have always got since 1987. UNTIL... my Daughter ordered a Pastrami and I took a bite...

If going for lunch, the key is to order your sandwich before arriving. That will save you a lot of time. Like most diamonds in the rough, it does not have a high seating capacity. Their sandwiches are the best I have had in years. They definitely gives the Italian Deli in Agoura a run for its money. The staple sandwich is their Pastrami and could absolutely be shared by two. I am so glad I found this place.

D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S !! The food here is so amazing!! The Veggie sandwich is a must have. I would give this place 5 stars, but a couple of times Ive ordered it without cheese and they put the cheese in it anyways so I had to pick it out. The toasted bread and olive spread really makes the sandwich! If you are in Playa del Rey make sure you stop in!

The Rhineland Special is a must have. And if you need to change it up, try the Chicken Supreme? It was an incredible breaded chicken cordon bleu type of thing. Wicked good!

Best pastrami sandwich Ive ever had. Didnt even know I like pastrami before having it. Im from Seattle and havent eaten a sandwich this good on the left coast.

Although this resturant is a hole-in-the-wall, the staff is super friendly and the sandwhichs are always wonderful! I cant recommend it enough!
