I have been looking for a new Indian food place ever since Biryani House closed a few years ago. They had the best chicken tikka masala in the world. I have spent the past few years trying to find a tikka masala that was as creamy and as flavorful. We had tried a bunch of other spots until we came into Italia Deli & Bakery. It is hands down the BEST tikka masala in Berkeley. The sauce is creamy, just the right amount of spice and big portions for not that expensive. I will only eat Indian food from Italia Deli & Bakery from now on. The management and wait staff are also really attentive and polite as well. Try it, you wont be disappointed.

Their hot sandwiches were amazing. My taste buds writhed in sweet ecstasy from the porcetta sandwich. Expect to down ~1000 calories, but its amazing. I would recommend the "small" sandwich, which was more than most people at our table could comfortably eat. The lineup is a little long around lunch, and the service wasnt anything special, but I would go again in a heartbeat for that porcetta sandwich. (The quality of their hot sammies is precisely why theres a huge lineup at lunch...)

While I really enjoy their turkey sandwiches getting one is not worth the hassle. Ive called ahead and waited the 30 minutes they say only to have to wait another 10-15 in line to pick it up. Rude patrons and frazzled staff makes for a stressful experience just for a sandwhich. Granted the sandwiches are good but over time the hassles have exceeded my desire to eat here. If they could provide a better customer experience I would definitely visit more often.

Italia Deli is the best Italian market in all of Conejo Valley as far as Im concerned. Prices are reasonable and the sandwiches are made to order. I always get the Italian sub, but Ive heard the porchetta sandwich is outstanding. Down side because its so popular the place gets crowded and service can be unfriendly at times, but not rude. You can always phone in an order to avoid the crowds and I typically ignore the indifferent attitude.

I love the sandwiches here!!! These are the Italian deli subs that dreams are made of. Based on the crowds, I have a sneaking suspicion thats the common consensus in the area. Thank goodness you call in your order! Pickles and pepperoncini are extra $, but no sub is complete without them, so go ahead and treat yoself. The cannolis here are pretty good with their crispy shell, but the filling is on the lighter side.

Tiny little place with big taste, that about sums it up. Their hot eggplant sandwich is amazing. They bake their own bread and its simply irresistible. Lots of deli choices, frozen to go items and a counter with all types of salads. Parking is easy, too! Long, long lines at lunch time is the only downside.

Italia is the best, they are family owned and have been a part of the community for as long as I can remember. Dont settle for a fast food sandwich chain, this place is great. Their deli meats are un beatable. Support your local businesses, especially the delicious ones.

Got chewed out for not ordering a day ahead for 3 loafs of bread. Was driving by and decided to grab some bread, who knew Im allocated to only one loaf without a days notice from a bakery. Havent been back since. Bread Nazis!

I go to Italia deli at least twice every time I spend a weekend in Agora. Sandwiches are some of the best you will find anywhere. Large BBQ chicken on a hard roll, Swiss cheese, everything on it.

Come here for the sandwiches not the atmosphere. Phone orders are the way to go. Seating is very limited. Boars head turkey is what I like. This is the type of place locals know about.
