As I was waiting in line, I am not going to lie: I did think to myself... $9.25 is a lot for a sando. And then I ordered my sandwich, the chicken chipotle. It was a HUGE sandwich. I am by all accounts (even my own), a good eater. But Little Lucca sandwiches are for sharing. I was stuffed (and exhausted) after eating a quarter of my sandwich. Sidebar: the chipotle was actually spicy here. Theres all kinds of stuff going on with the sandwich, green stuff (was that the garlic sauce?), another sauce drizzled on, mayo, mustard, and on and on. Bring wipes. Youll need them, the sandwiches are messy. But oh so good! Cant wait to come back. The dutch crunch was not mind-blowing. But honestly, I have rarely had a mind-blowing dutch crunch... so maybe its me? Next time I think Ill try the super veggie since theres so much good stuff going on every sandwich.

Specific location: The original. Lovely owners who have been working there ever since I started going. Great selection of sandwiches. Fresh sliced meat. Thick slices of cheese. A great selection of chips. Try their specials. And all of their sandwiches. I really like the tuna and the steak sandwich here! Always a lunctime line so prepare some time. General review of Little Luccas: I LOVE this place. LOVE IT! Best sandwich in the Bay Area. Not only for its value (an enormous sub sandwich, packed with meat, and all the fillings, for a great price). The staff is super friendly. The sandwiches though are amazing! I used to go twice a week when I worked down in San Bruno. If you havent been - GO! I promise you this place will leave you full yet wanting to come back for more to try all of their awesomeness!

Skimp? whats that? This place doesnt know how to skimp out on the ingredients. I told them a regular tuna sub and they gave me a sandwich in which i thought was supposed to be for my whole family. Seriously they gave me something that would last me 2-3 days. The best part is their special pesto sauce they put on the sandwich, a spicy yet it tastes like gourmet pesto. Honestly you should go there before lunch time or you will find yourself back in the school cafeteria line. All in all there is nothing little about the sandwiches but big lucca sounds like a gym where buff people go to, so that makes sense. But the only con is that all the workers make the sandwich differently so some will make it really great and some will make it average.

If you come at lunch, be prepared to wait because this place is popular. And though quarters will get a bit cramped while you are waiting due to the smaller size of the shop, the staff is impressive at moving people through the line in a professional manner. Be careful when you order, as your sandwich may end up tasting a bit eclectic if you get everything on it due to some of the unique ingredients used. Personally, I enjoyed the combination of flavors I experienced, but I anticipate that others may not. Just as others report, the size of the sandwiches compared to price is a great value. Finally, be warned that if you wait toward the end of lunch, the bread selection might thin out--or even run out altogether.

Ive come from Redwood City with friends just because we wanted really good deli sandwiches. The garlic and whatever special sauce they put on there is spicy and delicious as all get out. I usually order pastrami on sourdough but you pretty much cant go wrong no matter what you order. The sandwiches are often enough to feed me for lunch and dinner but if Im absolutely famished I can stuff the whole sandwich down in one sitting. For $6 the taste and portions are out of this world. Highly recommended.

Wow, Little Lucca is amazing. Humongous sandwiches for the price, and a great pesto garlic spread. Stopped by here with a couple friends after playing some ball, and even though we were ravenous, could only finish a half sandwich each. Yay for getting two meals out of it! There are quite a few sandwiches to choose from, and I opted for the cold cut on dutch crunch. The bread could have been a little bit less soft, but the insides of the sandwich more than made up for it.

to wait 30-60 mins. This is the best deli sandwich Ive had in awhile. UPDATE: Called ahead 2 hours this time and put in my sandwich order. When I got there they didnt have the sandwich ready and refused to make it claiming that I never called even though I gave them the time and number off my call log. And I know I talked to the same lady at the cash register. Totally rude and incompetent service. I know you are busy but take some responsibility for your mistakes.

Always long lines for the delicious sandwiches. One of my favorite sandwich shops in the bay area. I get all my sandwiches on Dutch Crunch usually and my preferred choice of meat is roast beef. The place has lots to choose from and the sandwiches look huge when you get them. I recommend this place to anyone who likes garlic and a little spice on their sandwiches because of their special spread that they put on all their sandwiches.

One of the best deli sandwiches in the Bay Area. Been going to Little Luccas for years. Have enjoyed so many wonderful sandwiches over the years, you cant go wrong. This place gets busy around lunch time, but worth the wait. I always order Dutch crunch roll with extra garlic sauce. So many choices for the meat SBS all are great and fresh. Tuesday and Thursday are seafood days, like shrimp and crab. Highly recommended!

The sandwiches are large, reasonably priced, and tasty. The roasted raspberry-chipotle sauce and the garlic sauce are fantastic. Service was cheerful and courteous, despite how crazy busy the place was, even by their own standards. The best way to cut down on the long wait time is by far to phone in your order plenty of time in advance. As for the atmosphere, I dont mind the shack look, it has its own charm.

The sandwiches are good, and the sauces are very tasty. They are also very big and very messy - I generally have to resort to a knife and fork. Going there at peak times can mean standing in a line that goes out the door to the sidewalk, potentially a 30-minute wait. I wouldnt say any sandwich could justify that, but definitely worth a try if you go when the line is more reasonable.

This place has the rudest employees I should have learned my lesson and stayed with the Burlingame location. The south city shop including the owner just look past you through you anywhere but at you just to fining their phone and o line orders which is where they messed up so much I stopped going to this location. Snotty ass people for a pretty run down sandwich shop.

Parents were eating here when my mom was pregnant with me over 30 years ago, and now I and the rest of my family can never get enough. So many places try to imitate their sauce and sandwiches but can never get it right. Always imitated but never duplicated. Little Lucca is the best sanwich spot, hands down, in my book. Nothing will ever even come close.
