You should eat here to say "Ive eaten there." The place is very small, yet has a large parking lot, and people wait an hour or more to eat there. Maybe its the location? After waiting, we were seated at the counter. The clientele was a mixture of wealthy locals, and tourists. The gentleman to my right was a wealthy local who spend most of his time in Napa valley, and the rest from as he put it "shity Ohio!" Go figure, another escapee from Ohio. Our waitress was a hipster version of Flo, (from either Mels Diner, or the Progressive Insurance commercials, theyre interchange in my opinion.) with an attitude of complete indifference if you eat there or not. The menu was interesting, with several house smoked entrees. We were there at lunch, and disappointingly, they were out of all of their bbq and smoked offerings. I honestly cant remember what I ate that day, as obviously it wasnt that memorable. Not as memorable as the entrees that I couldnt have, or the general vibe of the joint that left a deeper impression in my memory. So, sure, if youre in the neighborhood, give it a try. If it were horrible, I would have remembered that. Enjoy ****UPDATE**** I looked at the online menu, and I now recall what I ate. A highly forgettable fried oyster poboy sandwich.

Good service, cool vibe, decent food. Located right on highway 12 as you ride through Sonoma youll find this combination of a breakfast diner/smoking BBQ stop. The atmosphere is more like a picnic than a restaurant - the parking lot is dirt as is the outdoor eating area complete with picnic tables, benches, umbrellas to shield the sun, and mason jars for glassware. And what picnic would be complete without the pesky flies? They have those too. The menu includes an all-day breakfast section along with BBQ sandwiches and some original dishes as highlights. I regretfully selected the poor boy fried chicken sandwich. Sounded like a fantastic use of guilty pleasure calories, but it was overcooked and dry with minimal condiments. I highly recommend the biscuits with the pepper jelly - EXCELLENT! As a matter of fact, I used the jelly on my sandwich! Enjoy the atmosphere, the view of the surrounding vineyards, and a wise menu selection will seal the deal.

Wait time was reasonable and we were seated in about 10 min. (Lucky because when we left the line was out the door, ) Spicey Chicken Po Boy Sandwich was way to spicey. Hot yet the spices were overwhelming and I like hot/spicy food. I only ate 1/2 my friend had half of a half and did not like the taste of the spice. Pastrami was cut too thick and tasted like BBQ and no pastrami taste disappointed. The water is funny tasting so that made my tea taste funny.. IF I return I would try the hamburger, and milkshakes they did look very good. My son had the biscuits and gravy not impressive and potatoes were hard. (also in the potato salad they were undercooked) Maybe the french toast and fried chicken waffles looked good might try them instead.

Youre driving along the long dusty highway that connects Sonoma to Napa. Up ahead is what appears to be a relic of a long lost time, a roadside eatery that promises short order cooks named Cookie and big haired waitresses named LaVerne and the secret to soothing the soul of the American appetite. But its not another time, its now. And the food isnt greasy or canned. Its farm fresh, everything made from scratch, but it still soothes the soul of the American appetite. Have yourself a mason jar of sweet iced tea or perhaps a bottle of one of the local brews or a glass of local vino, sit back, relax and let them feed you. You wont regret it. And if you happen to get a waitress named LaVerne, well so much the better.

Delicious! The setting is rustic and casual and makes you feel like youre hanging out in someones backyard. The wait was quite long, but it was a sunny weekend, so I would expect a longer wait. At least they let you order coffee and mimosas while you wait. The food is all reasonably priced and really tasty. I ordered the chicken and waffles and was quite happy - the waffle was more of a corn meal waffle, which I really liked. The chicken was crispy and spicy. Others at the table ordered the chilaquiles, biscuits and gravy, and eggs benedict; all were happy. Will happily return.

Fremont Diner is my newest love. Don’t be fooled pulling into the parking lot, it doesn’t look like much, but you’d be surprised. There is so much character and charm, complete with turquoise picnic tables, mason jar cups, and a chicken walking around like it owned the place. It made me feel a little bad that half our party ordered the chicken and waffles. Good thing, I had the oyster po’boy, which was so, so good. Not until we were heading out did I notice their indoor dining area, just as quirky and wonderful as it is outside.

After an adventurous day, some friends and I decided to visit the Fremont Diner for dinner. It was the perfect stop after a long day. This little gem is full of vintage decor that creates a nostalgia similar to the stories told by our grandparents. I made the great decision of ordering the ‎Catfish Plate. Everything that came with this meal tasted great, all of the flavors worked really well together. The only thing I would have done differently is requested the fish be fried crispier. Aside from that, the meal was awesome.

We ordered the Nashville Chicken with Vella Mac and smoked brisket hash. The Nashville Chicken was good but not that spicy and they wouldnt offer extra Nashville sauce on the side which would have helped. I think Wes Burger in the mission sf has a better Nashville Chicken. The smoked brisket was great but the hash was wet, soupy, and only came with one lil egg. It would have been much better if they had prepared it in a way where the soft smoked fatty brisket would compliment a dry potato crunch... with two eggs. ;)

The Fremont Diner is like a lot of farm to table restaurants in the Bay Area, theyre held hostage by the seasons. Walk into the place in the middle of the summer and youll be overwhelmed by the number of amazing choices, youll be virtually unable to decide where to start. Show up in late January or early February and its a whole different story. The winter menu offers more evergreen options, more meats and fewer veggies. Dont get me wrong, its all great, but if youre going to splurge, summer is the time to go.
