My husband and I love this place! We live just 5 minutes away but weve never tried eating here until now (we always order to-go at Rins Thai). We first decided on the Hotbox Grill but they were packed so we ended up here. Im so glad we did! The ambiance was nice - quiet and lots of interesting Thai decor on the walls. There were less than 10 tables and despite being a Saturday night, the place wasnt full. The 2 middle-aged ladies who served us were very pleasant and attentive. The food arrived pretty fast which was great. It was a cold night so we had Tom kha soup with tofu and veggies. For the entree we had Beef Prig Khing (sauteed with green beans, carrot and red curry paste) and Fried Catfish with red curry sauce. They were super duper yummy!!! Ive been to Thailand many times and the food served here in E-Saan is definitely authentic Thai (though not as spicy). The food is fairly priced and the portions are just right. We even took home leftovers. I agree that it is unfair to rate this place low because of its proximity to mobile homes. It is a decent family-owned restaurant that serves good food. In a town with mostly Mexican restaurants, this place is a breath of fresh air. My husband and I will definitely come back here! And we will be bringing our friends along!

We have decided to not eat here anymore. Over the last year, the food quality has not been good. Last week, we gave it one more try. It was bland, at best. My wife had the ginger entree, with chicken. The chicken was like they had a choice to throw out old chicken, or serve it - they served it. The veggies were OK, but the black bean sauce was made with a new type black bean - the type without flavor. I had the spicy lemongrass chicken. OK, it had chicken, but not a hint of lemongrass, and it was not spicy. Other than that, it was OK. Also, beware of having ice tea. Even though the menu says they dont charge for ice tea refills, they do. Thats just plain greedy. The sneaky part is that they dont ask if you want more, they just pour it. So, thats our opinion of our past two visits. You may enjoy it, but beware. Its sad, because we really try to support Sonoma restaurants. Dave King

Weve gotten food from E-Saan Thai House once or twice a week for several years and the food is always great. The owner and staff greet you with smiles and are ready to provide an all around wonderful dining experience. We love the Pad Thai Noodles and Pineapple Fried Rice. Sometimes the dining room is crowded, but you can always order to take out. Best Thai food in Sonoma!
