Honestly would give no stars if I could wanted to take my grandma somewhere thats has really great food so we choose this restaurant thinking it would be great with the reviews. We walked in no one said a word to us no greeting no hello nothing so we thought we were on the wrong side so we went around and ask a gentleman if they were open he said yes and said we could pass thru the kitchen which was weird since I work in the industry. Anyways we started to walk thru Im holding my two year old and Im pregnant btw and I slip and fall walking in because there was a steep slope from the outside to the kitchen I got up walked to the front and decided to leave no one said anything to me besides a nice girl who was working were I fell. I will never return there again food may be great Idont know but service is what keeps the customers

I often work with guests staying at the Sonoma Mission Inn and inevitably they will ask for dining recommendations . Thats when I look them over and decide if they are qualified to enjoy the BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN CALIFORNIA. By that I mean will they be able to overlook the rather spartan decor and the fact that you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the tables which are all outside in order to enjoy food that can only be described as heavenly. And if they pass my muster then I tell them they would be foolish to pass up the opportunity to indulge in a meal that will be talked of in reverent tones for generations to come.

Really good, fresh food. Long wait times because of the crowds of customers. Kind of pricey for Mexican food ($39 for Swiss chard enchiladas with refried beans, chips and a single guacamole and, ceviche with chips + 25% tip and tax). All seating is outdoors so, it is dog friendly. Theres a single unisex bathroom you access by walking through the kitchen. Not much onsite parking but theres plenty nearby

Saw this restaurant on Check Please Bay Area. The guest gave the restaurant high praise. I utterly disagree! Every dish was a disappointment. The fish tacos had a thick and heavy breading, like the breading you find on onion rings. It was tasteless and needed to be seasoned. Guacamole had zero flavor, it was simply an unseasoned bowl of avocado mashed in a bowl. Wasted time and wasted money!

Rico! My boyfriend had beef tacos (great) and I ordered the same but they were all out so ordered the chicken enchilada, the lovely waitress offered me one normal and one mole so I could try both and they were delicious. I havent had a great deal of outstanding Mexican food on our 3 week trip in the States but this was fantastic for the price- Id go again if there was enough time. Gracias!

Some of the best Mexican food I know about. Everything is made from scratch, and is so so good. Fresh and delicious from their ceviche to their pozole (if theres any left), it tastes like my grandmother made it, probably better actually. Their mole is incredibly complex and their hand made tortillas are a staple around our house.

This the BEST Mexican food I have ever eaten! Traditional dishes and innovative dishes are all prepared with excellent fresh ingredients and attention to detail. Seriously, Im thinking of moving to Boyes Hot Springs so I can eat there weekly. If you are in northern California DONT MISS IT!!!!

Should I lie and say its not good so there are less people in front of me when I reorder more fresh tortillas? No. Thought about it though. Great place for food. Fast service, friendly people, incredible tortillas, great food. Have just been there for the first time. Definitely not the last.

Amazing Tamales! Chilequilles were super yum! It can get really crowded so prepare to sit and enjoy yourself. We often buy a pack of four tamales to eat throughout the week. Just so you know each tamale is about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide. They are a full meal in themselves.

Love love love! Fresh, organic, simple yet perfectly Mexican (with an upgrade) food. Buy a bottle of wine, take a seat at a picnic table, and wait for the deliciousness! More expensive than the taco trucks but a good alternative to the more expensive restaurants on the square.

The flavor was all right, fresh, balance and pleasant. However, my Niman ranch beef tacos were gamey and very watery. They are dog friendly. But, tables are next to their lose gravel parking lot, and I kept thinking about having sands in my dishes when cars were in and out.

Fish taco was nice and crispy like one would expect with beer batter. Outdoor seating is shaded. Somewhat pricey, but that is what to expect considering it is in Sonoma county. Always glad to support the mom and pop restaurants anytime.

Great food and prices are not unreasonable Stop by if youre hungry. Get generous portions. Id highly recommend this as a must-visit on a trip to the area. I had the Pumpkin habanero dip with a Negro Modelo beer awesomeness

Great authentic Mexican fare! Fish tacos were 4/5. Fresh fish but heavily battered. Guacamole is as fresh as it gets. Great patio seating outdoors. Order inside then find a seat yourself. 2 min walk from the Fairmont.

This place was recommended to us by one of the employees at Quintessa Winery. The food was excellent. Some of the best authentic Mexican food Ive ever had. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

These are the best refried beans I have ever had. The enchiladas and tamales are also among the best Ive every had. Everything they make is FULL (thats right, I did use all caps) of flavor.

Absolutely excellent food. Its not cheap bu the portions are plentiful. Order less than you think. Though, maybe dont, since everything is so delicious. Youll be happy you have leftovers!

Delicious sopes, enchiladas, and tortilla soup. Seasonal menu, chips made from hand made tortillas, great coffee, and you can buy the tortillas to go. My favorite find of the year.

Excellent Mexican food with plenty of local flavors mixed in. We love the butternut echilladas. Lots of outdoor seating but it can get mobbed at lunch time on the weekends.

When a friend who is quite knowledgeable about food recommended as his favorite Mexican food *full stop*, I was incredulous — but I now understand, and the praise is apt.

To judge this book by its cover would be a HUGE mistake, because the quality and freshness of everything is farm fresh. This place is among our favorites anywhere!!

Excellent food, conscientious staff. The best Mexican food I am aware of. The freshly made packages of tortillas are an incredible deal. We drive hours to eat here!
