Pizza and Beer go together like Batman and Robin. I dont come here nearly as often as I used with a Carlsbad location being much closer to me its still nice to come to the original, at least for me. This was my first experience of pizza and beer outside of KPFM. Ive personally stolen their saying of Grub and Grog for many many years and most people never know where I got it. The group seating and shared tables make it somewhat family friendly, but please be aware not everyone is here for your 12 year olds birthday lunch. Pizzas are actually pretty reasonable assuming your dont trying to get a half dozen ingredients. Here they tend to overcrust the ratio and offer a very cream ranch. Large salads are quite filling, but its not called salad port. Separate ordering for food and alcohol can slow down the process, but when busy expect 45 minute wait. When the weather is great the outside seating is really nice, but can get crowded and this neednt be said, but no alcohol beyond the patio. Parking is on the side and behind, but limited. Bathroms are pretty clean and service ok. The loud speaker sucks and they will probably mess up your name so I suggest going to something unique like my buddy Brian who uses his nickname El Conquistador which is fun. Celebrity names also encouraged as its pretty muffled, but loud enough. Plenty cheese and hot you should definitely get the beer buddies and sometimes I dont even order the pizza. Dough can be alittle chewy, but its not NY thin crust of Chicago deep dish, its just delicious cheesy hot goodness. This is not a brewery so Im not going to hold them to the same standards so I always stick with the classics that I know rather than try some random named beer with unknown info on. Like with all PPs the front ordering area gets crowded, but here its unique in how low the ceiling is. Im not a tall person, but claustrophobia may be an issue. Standard PP wooden interior. My last excursion here was to eat after a metric century road bike ride from Irvine. Perfect place to carb reload aside from Islands.

Service was no good. I called to place a pick up order and arrived 15 mins later. I asked about my pizza and they said 15 minutes. Thats good because the original estimate given was 30 minutes. I paid and went next door to 101 yogurt. I was there about 10 minutes. I went back to check on my pizza again and the didnt have record of my pizza. They lies and told me it came out awhile ago. As of this review, its still less than 30 minutes from the moment I called to place the order. They told me they need to remake it and it would be an additional 15. I did get my pizza within that time, so at least they rectified their mistake. Perhaps this is nit picky, but I would have preferred that they just admitted they gave away my pizza instead of lying and making it seem like it was my fault. I ordered the San Clemente pizza and it was alright. I wouldnt call it pizza, really. More like a breaded taco. The dough is pretty standard. No seasoning, but fluffy. The bean sauce.... Was bean sauce. I dom: know how to critique it. The cheese wasnt spectacular, but it was good. Overall, this is a place where I would go if I was in the area, but not go out of my way for. Its passable pizza.

this place is cool. its a total surfer hangout after coming back from the beach grab and beer and a pizza, or play some games in the back. either way youll have a good time and enjoy the delicious food. I will say the food took a little long to make as we ordered 1 medium margarita pizza, 1 large bbq chicken (half) & pepperoni mushroom(half), hot wings, and a veggie platter. for each item we had to get up to get the food after they called our names. but it was kinda worth the wait. the beer was what really got me to like this place though. They have a separate line for their alcohol and theyll let you sample any of the beers they have on tap. Definitely try their season beers. I love a good IPA and they had one that hit the spot so well. I mean remember the saying pizza and beer. Its a saying for a reason. Definitely get here before 630, because it tends to get quite crowded and not only with teenagers and adults, but families too! Kids will be everyone before you know it! Happy Drinking, Eating, and Noming

Ive been to this place several times but I wont go again after the last trip. After placing an order and very specifically asking for no bell peppers, I sat down and watched as people who ordered after me and people who arrived after me started walking out with their pizzas. I inquired as to the status of my pizza and was met with a blank stare as somebody dug for the receipt. Forty five minutes after ordering, my pizza order is finally announced and I grab it and drive home. When I open it up at home, it is covered in bell peppers. I checked the receipt to be sure they marked it and it had a marking for bell peppers, which looked like a request for extra. Ill take full responsibility for being dumb enough not to check before leaving, but come on! Inability to listen to orders and inability to manage placed orders! I ended up eating leftovers while my guests ate the pizza that I paid for. Wont go here again, recommend going to a different location if you really want the pizza.

I have been fed up with Pizza Ports "the customer is always wrong" attitude for a while now, but after last night I will never spend another dollar in there again. Last night, we went to Pizza Port before the train arrived. As my friend was ordering a beer, the bouncer stopped him and said, "You cant get a drink." My friend asked why, and the guy claimed that he was in there earlier acting drunk. Naturally, we were confused, having not been in the place earlier, and tried to explain that it wasnt us. At this point the bartender jumped into the conversation, backing up the bouncer and saying, "Hey man, we have over twenty cameras in here, we know it was you." The bouncer then proceeded to kick all of us out. Id like to say I cant believe an establishment where the employees gang up on their customers, but I have seen behavior like this before at Pizza Port. Long story short: the convenience is not worth being harassed--take your money elsewhere.

I went here with my coworker the other day before he has to catch Amtrak across the street. He had beer and we split a garlic bread appetizer. It was really tasty! I must say Ive never tasted any garlic bread better than the one I had here. The garlic flavor is pretty strong though, just the way I like it, but for some people might be a bit too much. But it was served warm and its like dancing in your mouth when you eat it. Seriously, I dont even know how to explain it. Looking around they have pretty serious pizza as well. Will need to try them out next time. As for the setting its a very casual place. Its really good for groups and I see people just standing around the table having beer and eating their pizzas. Not really a bar though since I see many families brought their kids and they seem to be having a good time. Id definitely go back.
