Some of the best breakfast burritos Ive ever had. Theyll fill you up all day. They also have killer sandwiches, great coffee and a big selection of teas. Its one of those places where if you go often enough theyll remember your name and even what you usually order. The people there are awesome and will actually have a conversation with you. Theres usually some pretty awesome music in the air as well and the back patio is a great place to hang out for breakfast or lunch. Their specials are also really good with a lot of variety, today they had various Corralitos sausages served hotdog style on a baguette. My personal recommendation is to get #20 with bacon and extra cheese. You wont need to eat till dinner time and with some hot sauce on it its a real knockout.

When it is good it is my favorite place for breakfast, when it is bad it is not good. What do I mean you say? Well it is VERY hit and miss, I always get the same thing and it varies a lot both in portion size from huge to tiny, and in the way it is cooked from perfect to waaay over cooked eggs. Some of it depends on who is in the kitchen. But one pattern I have picked up on is, if the owner is in there you may as well walk away because you WILL get a tiny portion. Not sure what the deal is there, but I have reached the point where I peek in the door first to decide if a want to order or nor. If I see the owner I walk away. If the owner is not there it is generally a good value breakfast, if he is.....it is not worth the money.

Okay so I wanted to like this place, being that it is a locally owned establishment, and has been in business for many many years. I ordered one of the many breakfast burritos that they offer. And it really wasnt that good. Yes it was a generous portion, in fact almost too much. So it looked good but as I ate there really wasnt much flavor to it at all. It kind of reminded me of what Costco pizza taste like. In other words just kind of thrown together and taste like blah. Sorry but based on that experience I wouldnt go back.

Food is good but its hit and miss on which ingredients will be prominent; you could get mostly egg or mostly hashbrown, never know until you bite in. If you order meat in a burrito that doesnt normally have it then check on its presence too: twice i havent gotten the meat and twice its been pretty skimpy. Overall though this place is delicious and i honestly dont mind the inconsistency but I know some might.

The food here is really good, and in my opinion, full of flavor! But the real motivation for writing this review is their service. The staff here are really friendly and generous. You can tell Chill Out is locally owned because their staff truly represent the best of Santa Cruz. I enjoy going here just as much as surfing Pleasure Point!

Ive been here a few times, usually trying a different burrito, and one of the consistent factors I noticed were their potatoes/hash browns. They seem to have a strong "chorizo" flavor, and they dont seem to make/offer regular potatoes/hashbrowns, it was a turn off for me. Otherwise, their ingredients and food seems great!

Horrible burrito! Which is very hard to accomplish. 3 burritos all three of us had the same complaints. 1. Learn how to assemble a burrito, no one wants to bite into 1 of the 4 ingredients with each bite. 2. No flavor, I guess thats what the salsa is for. 3. Kinda gross.

Excellent breakfast burritos! So many choices. Their motto is "We roll the fatties" and its not just a play on words. HUGE burritos. Delicious. Close enough to pleasure point that your food is still plenty warm when you sit down to enjoy it and take in all of the bay view.

Same burrito, with the same ingredients cost 3$cheaper at the point market and better tasting. They served me a 13$ breakfast burrito with holes in it and the young lady at the register had major attitude. Customers had more manners and respect than she did, no bueno..

Love the food but the cash only, here use my ATM scam is old and played out. Ive forgotten cash and not bought anything more times then I have. Probably think youre making money on the ATM fees but youre losing money when people walk out like me over it often.

Delicious, HUGE vegan burrito? Yes please! Chill outs one of my favorite places to go for a quick breakfast burrito before hitting the beach, walking the cliff, or heading to work. It has a Cute little outside patio too.

Burrito was overall bland and tasteless, yes it was fat but does it taste good no. Establishment is just nasty old rundown shack will not go again. Also cash only means you can pay an extra 5 $ to use the atm.great!

Chill Out has a great Santa Cruz vibe in and out. The little beer garden in the back is a gem. I bring my friends here when they want to know what "santa Cruz" is all about. I do think the coffees are overpriced here.

Coffee wasnt the best, and the burrito seemed a little over cooked. (Dry eggs and meat) but it was a bargain breakfast just a short walk from the beach. I go back again and again and just smother my burrito in salsa.

The food has no flavor and tasted old and of poor quality! Only reason this place survives is because they are in Santa Cruz. Although their other location has already shut down.

Good food, fast service, and hot coffee. All thats needed to start a morning at the beach. The outside area out back is beautiful and serene. The ambiance is true Santa Cruz.

Great for a quick snack. 3 star due to the condition of the shack itself. Needs some attention.
