One of my favorite coffee places in the South Bay, Chromatic Coffee serves delicious coffee with a complete staff of friendly baristas. Everyone working here seems to genuinely enjoy working here. The walls a decorated with local artwork and have plenty of space for different groups to sit and enjoy one of their excellent cups. The overhead music is chosen by baristas (I think), and Ive always been happy with the selections. My wide range of musical tastes enjoys the variety. :) Their beans are always high quality. Id recommend selecting a bean of your choice for a drip cup, or try their Dark Coconut Mocha. Another fun option is "Baristas choice". The barista makes you a special concoction. Ive yet to be disappointed!

One of my favorite coffee shops. Anywhere. Period. Yeah, its trendy and popular and crowded and expensive and its hard to get a seat for a reasonable amount of time*, but when the coffee is consistently *that* good those shortcomings are forgiven. I usually get a regular coffee, but sometimes drink bits of my girlfriends mocha and its a delectable indulgence. They have a rotating menu of seasonal specialty drinks that I mostly stay away from, but in general they seem very popular and well-received. *The new expanded hours has really helped this issue. The store is slower later in the evening and has become a go-to work place if I dont have to think about anything too hard.

Really enjoyed cold brew coffee & chocolate croissant. Staff is kind and friendly. My daughter also enjoyed Family Area with a lot of toys. Great place.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in the south bay. The coffee is strong and they offer really interesting drinks. Definitely try the dark chocolate coconut mocha. The coconut is not at all overpowering and it has the perfect amount of sweetness. The baristas choice is my next favorite. You can let the staff know if theres something in particular you do or dont want in your drink, but otherwise let them surprise you with something unique and delicious! Sign up for their rewards program to earn free drinks. Check out the art while youre there. They feature pieces from local artists on the walls and rotate it monthly.

Chromatic Coffee has some of the best coffee in the Bay Area. Ive been going here since it used to be called Barefoot Coffee. After the name (and management?) change, its become even better and more hipsterish (not in an obnoxious way). Beans are a bit pricey but are well worth it if you find a good bag. There are some beans that were so good that I still remember the names from 4 or 5 years ago (bring back Tulio Portillo!). Their baristas do a great job and you can count on always getting a great tasting cup of brewed, pour-over, or espresso specialty drink.

I ordered a savory treat and they served it to me cold out of the fridge. Usually coffee shops offer to heat up the meal before serving. When I asked another barista to heat up the meal for me she refused because I had already bit into it. I think that was just a lazy excuse not to heat up the cold food that they served me. She could have easily put my meal on a plate and heated it up or on some parchment paper. I honestly dont know how this place has such high ratings. Service was fast but baristas are lazy. The latte I ordered also was not that great...

This is my favorite local coffee shop. They have an excellent variety of espresso drinks including my favorite, the Gibraltar. They take pride in how they craft their drinks and the quality shows. I love their seasonal creations. The strawberry shortcake latte was amazing! I also sometimes come here just for their selection of Manresa Bread treats like the giant pain au chocolate. The only downside is it can get really packed on the weekends, but thats when they offer brunch and it is worth the wait. I wish there were many more locations.

Ok, so I had very high expectations and was seriously let down. Like a bag of bricks. My 12oz $5 cup of coffee... it was luke warm it took 10 minutes to get it tasted like dish water I was already in the car, pulling out of the driveway when I tasted it. I would have put that little white cup on the counter and asked for a refund. I never do that. Even McDonalds coffee is better than what I got. Who knows, perhaps the barista was hung over or something. We all have our off days. But not for $5 I will not be returning

Coffee is great only on the weekdays. One barista, Asian girl short hair, pulls amazing shots her drinks are always great tasting and smooth. The weekend is a different story. The espresso is just low quality. It taste as if they dont Calibrate their shots on the weekend Or even clean grounds from the spout. I used to be a Barista and work with "Fine Coffee" so I have a good idea of what a proper espresso shot should taste like. Simply put Im disappointed on the weekend but very highly satisfied on the weekdays.

This place has been a sanctuary for me; whenever I have work to do and Im in the area, I enjoy grabbing a cup on tap (very smooth but the seasonal drinks are amazing as well -- Im a fan of unadulterated black coffee so others interests may be different), sitting down, and writing. The social atmosphere is vibrant as well, though it would be great if tap refills were free; I sure wouldnt mind paying a buck extra if it meant I could continue sipping on my drink without having to rip out my card each time.

This place is a definite go to! its got a hipster vibe, but their dark chocolate coconut iced mocha is amazing. Its the perfect sweet tooth fix while getting your daily dose of caffeine. This coffee place is pretty expensive, averaging about $5/cup. But they do put a double shot in every drink you order. Im also a huge fan of the soy chai latte, if youre feeling a tea/latte. Their chai tastes like a blend of real cinnamon and tea (not like Starbucks) and the soy brings out the flavor even more!

Very cool, hip environment. I had the dark coconut mocha- the best cup of coffee I have ever had. I dont want to go back to Starbucks. I cant wait for the location to open in downtown San Jose. My sister ordered the creme brulee- delicious also. The buttermilk pancakes and papas y chorizo were very good. Proceeds from the pancakes go to the SJ flood victims. Its delightfully surprising to be served gourmet dishes at a coffee shop. This shop feels like its from San Francisco.

The coffee flavor is not to my liking. It tastes like Red Rock in Mt View which I want desperately to taste good but just doesnt. I dont know if its the milk they use, the coffee or the vanilla (which at Chromatic is vanilla extract, not syrup). Maybe I ordered the wrong drink though (vanilla iced latte, lightly sweetened). Service was great. Indoor atmosphere was nice too. Outdoor seating was not that good however.

This place has truly awesome drinks. I love the quality. If you want an iced treat, the dark coconut mocha will not disappoint and the seasonal drinks are always amazing. Right now Im loving the iced thin mint. Its worth the drive. They also have weekend brunch, local beers, and an awesome bagel place next door if you want more than a latte. If I have a busy day its a great treat to get started.
