Stopped by now on 4 occasions. The first time was great. Coffee is always good but seriously it took over 40 minutes to get a breakfast sandwich the next time. On the third time, a woman I assume to be the owner, stood in the line that was five people deep, extending to the front door. The line just stopped moving, as well as, the employees doing anything but attending to this woman. I started timing, at this point. After, ten minutes of the three people in front of me still not placing an order due to this woman monopolizing the attention of her staff I left. Next time through, my friend begged to stop because their coffee is so good, we were able to place our order quickly and I had hopes that we would be in and out. I ordered a premade pastry that the staff were unable to identify whether it was apricot, apple or guava filled and an iced drink, so it would be quick and it was. My friend, however, ordered something complicated. Even though they have a four pull press the barista can only manage one pull at a time, so we waited for her to finish the order before us, then in walks the same short, brown haired woman who held up the line before. She walked in from the back, so she is either the manager or the owner because, again everything grinds to a halt to give her attention. I start timing. 17 minutes. I get it. Its San Juan Bautista, so they have a monopoly but this would not fly anywhere else. My best friends husband owns three restaurant bars in Seattle. When its busy, Ive seen him take orders, bus tables, prepare orders, make drinks. Lady, whoever you are, stop monopolizing attention and help out and train your barista how to use a four pull.

Just off the highway in a village so quaint chickens still roam free is a coffee roastery serving artisan quality beans and drinks along with gourmet sandwiches, salads, soups, and pizza. I eat at this place so often and talk about it so much people ask me if I work there. Highlights include - espresso, only place within an hour of here with truly delicious espresso, this makes the lattes and cappuccinos here on a whole other level compared to the other options. Caprese Pizza - all the pizzas at Vertigo are my favorite and the Caprese is quite possibly the perfect pie. A balance of sweet, tart, tangy, and creamy with a crust perfected after years of work. Breakfast - it doesnt matter what you order, it will make your day.

Service was great. Concha was good. Elote was heavenly! Whoever does the pastries, mail me more elotes! I had a double, and the shot was smooth and peanut buttery. Im not very big on espresso, so I wouldnt be able to say much more other than I enjoyed sipping on it. My girlfriend had the cap. Shes used to a larger cappuccino from our local spot. Vertigo serves a traditional cap, which caught her off guard. I thought it was delicious. She also approved, after getting used to the upfront nature of espresso in traditional caps. Great spot and beautiful location.

Great place for coffee and wi-fi in San Juan Bautista, which up to now has been a bit of a desert for both of those things. Coffee roasted on-site, owner serious about great coffee, and coffee is nothing short of outstanding. Nice folks behind the counter. Good wi-fi on site, and it makes Vertigo a great place to stop off and work. I regularly do the 101 from Salinas/Prunedale up north and back, and Vertigo is one of my FAVORITE stop-overs to stop in, work, and have coffee.

These guys have found a niche market!! Proper coffee and excellent wood fired pizza. A simple yet modern, gourmet menu with some really delicious seasonal specials. The pizza crusts are to die for - just right - thin enough, but with good bubbles and stretch in the dough for a light, crisp but wholesome affair! The coffee is fresh and REAL. There is a great beer garden, but really, you are here for the pizza and coffee.

Best roastery in the area. Small batch, not overroasted coffee. Date stamped bags. Unique place for the San Benito, Monterey, south Santa Clara counties area. They dont stop at fresh roasted coffee. They built their own outdoor wood burning oven for pizza, etc. awesome Province Bakery pastries, award winning sandwiches, and they are always seeking to improve. Oh and they have great patio too!

These people craft coffee, they dont just serve it. What they serve is practically ART. I was once surprised to have found wonderful coffee in Australia, but I suppose good is not dependent on where you are. What VERTIGO serves is is up there with the best I have ever been served. Call me a coffee snob. Five Stars is not enough. BRAVO!!! This is a must place to visit in San Juan Bautista.

Hands down the best local coffee shop in San Juan Batista!! Hand roasted coffee selections with limited but delicious breakfast selections and pastry. For the evening crowd there is delicious Vertigo Pizzas baked in their wood fired oven and local beer and wine selections. On a warm day the outdoor patio is inviting for casual get together in a shaded patio.

A great place to stop. Nestled in historic San Juan Bautista. A coffee house as historic as the town. We were greeted upon arrival with kind & friendly service. The staff is very knowledgeable in the art of coffee and they roast their own beans. Stop by, you wont be disappointed. Jesse & Esther

If you are a real fan of good coffee you have to stop at Vertigo. Amazing espresso at perfect temperture. The pizza was also quite unique (we got the Caprese). Cooked in an exterior oven with the perfect balance of ingredients. We are glad to have found this coffee place on our travels.

Definitely have the best coffee around, even in Hollister. I would give it 5 Stars alone off the coffee, its great. Matt gave me excellent customer service as well. They dont have any Ranch so I give them 4 stars. The pizza taste great too.

Best pizza my Italian fiancé has had outside of Italy. We went on the recommendation of my grandfather and as we walked in my fiancé doubted. But they were phenomenal. Cute atmosphere and lovely patio.

Pizza is absolutely amazing. They use fresh mozzarella and the red sauce is delicious. Pizzas are cooked in a wood fired oven. Havent tried the coffee, but they have fresh ground beans.

Coffee is really good and their food is super fresh. I ordered the caprese salad and it was one of the best Ive had. My husband ordered a breakfast burritos and he really enjoyed it.

The mocha drinks with four shots was an excellent choice. The food is a bit costly but it is pretty good. The seating is nice, the music choice is good, and the staff is great.

I have gotten a traveler case of coffee the last couple of mornings and it has been amazing! The coffee is far better than Starbucks and costs the same. Great service and feel too!
