In college and care about every dollar you spend? Just care about the amount of food you get and your only food concerns is that an egg should taste like an egg, bacon should tast like bacon, and hash browns shouldnt be overcooked to a crisp? Dont want the hastle of servers and would rather get your silverware & condiments yourself because you believe you could do it faster? Then this is the place for you! As long as you have cash, cheap big breakfast is yours! The portions here are awesome for the under $6 meals that are on the menu. Even if you decide to pay more than $7, you wont regret it; food portions get bigger. Forget Dennys or IHOP, the breakfast food here is king. Dont like breakfast you say and want lunch? This place has that too! Everything here is cheap and you will leave full and happy at the money you saved. :) Forget about service, aesthetics, comfy chairs, large eating tables...throw it all out the window! Here is a mans breakfast spot where price and portions rule!

Solid breakfast fare at very reasonable prices. The coffee is tasty and the relaxed atmosphere lends itself to conversation and comeraderie with our fellow humans. Order under the menu and pick up your food when they call your number. Fancy? No. Delicious? Yes. (If you need your shrunken, mollycoddled Tech balls lovingly caressed by cowering corporate baristas, this is not the place for you. Do the world a favor and stick to your organic, locally-sourced quinoa enema bar and let the rest of us enjoy an actual meal.) As for me, Ill be back to Peanuts Deluxe Cafe again and again. First rate.

Pro - Its cheap and there is plenty of it. You can feed yourself on the go for about $6. Either I got luck or they actually follow health codes and dont marry Catsup bottles, A+. Con - Its unremarkable in every way. Tables are often dirty and seldom wiped down. Hash Browns not particularly crispy, eggs are either over or under done (very runny or very dry), bacon not crisp. Order at the counter under the menu on the right, grab your beverage from the cooler, pay at the nondescript register in the peninsula to the left. Seat yourself and wait for your number.

Pros: Great prices. Served fast. Food was good but very comparable to most diners. Good portion size. Cons: Street meter parking only. Pay for food before its served. Debit fee. $10 min credit. Never received my drink, ketchup, or jelly for toast. Im not sure if I was supposed to find it all myself considering you pick up your own food rather than it getting served to you. Side note: In the time it took me to get up to get my food and silverware a guy stole my seat. Would I recommend: No

Peanuts is your typical diner.. or college diner. The place is a little run down, but the prices here are good and you get a good amount of food. The employees who worked here were friendly. When we walked in, they were frying a huge batch of bacon and the guy said we should get some with our order because its fresh. Who were we to say no. I got the bacon and eggs breakfast which also came with hash browns. Its a good spot. If I lived in the area, I would come back.

This place is really great-delicious, old fashioned American food, really cheap, and very fast. Excellent place for college students or visitors. It can get crowded during lunch hours, especially when school is in full swing, since SJSU is right across the street. Some of the employees might stare at you a little funny, but I go to restaurants to eat food. Just dont expect some fancy shmancy high end caviar and wine joint.

I go to Sjsu and I dont really get they hype. Sure its cheap. Sure its trendy in a "its just what we do" kind of way. But the for me the breakfast wasnt really that filling or very good. So the price to amount of food ratio was bad AND the quality to price ratio was bad. So I would never choose to go here but I wouldnt complain about meeting people here.

Cozy place for reasonably priced breakfast, burgers, sandwich, gyro, and more... order at the counter, pay at the end of the bar, then listen for your number which can be found on your order ticket. Self serve your silverware, condiments and drinks while the cook prepares your order. Popular with the college crowd and local community.

Muy buenos desayunos, omelette delicioso, chocolate caliente delicioso. Ambiente agradable y relajado. Si viviera en San José, iría a diario.

Inexpensive and pretty goodn greasy. Down sides are that nothing is customizable, toast is toast, you get grape jelly or none, the butter on the toast is a dab. The coffee is ok but the creamer reuins it. Everything is sticky. All in all, Id fime back. Its definitely better than Dennys.

Awesome cheap breakfast and you can get a pitcher of beer at 7am. Yes. That was the college life. Conveniently located next to frat houses and across from San Jose State. Its prime location. The only negative is the parking so you will have to find parking on the street.

Its exactly what you would expect. Small fast diner like atmosphere known for their burgers and breakfast foods. Right next to San José State University and is normally an audience from the campus. Good food large helpings. $10 credit card minimum

This place is amazing and reminds me of a country diner. It is small, cheap, and filled with locals. The food is probably the closest thing to home cooking you can get in the area; the staff is really friendly and helpful too.

Very cheap, hence the name, and very good. Owner/cashier is friendly (most days). Place is small and could get crowded around lunch time. Espn on the tv. Good local environment. I recommend the turkey sandwich

Nothing fancy, but they have the best american breakfast in San Jose under $10, and are now accepting credit and debt cards as well. Plus $8 pitchers during happy hour, and $3 pints.

They have a good sized basic breakfast and lunch menu. The food is ok but they do serve large portions if you are starving or have a huge appetite. Its mostly a SJSU student hangout.

So good! Reasonably priced food. Small hole in the wall worthy of a visit from Drive-in, Diners and Dives. Service can be a little challenging, but worth it.

Great greasy spoon with a casual vibe and giant TVs. Dont expect a quick dine-in, this place is packed and you may end up waiting up to an hour for food.

Huge portions and what youd expect of diner food. Very casual, laid back place that wont break the bank or impress you with the food.

A loud, grungy, self service sort of place for college students with low standards or times when only a quick fatty meal is desired.

Used to eat here back in college. It was always a very "cozy" and casual atmosphere, perfect for college students.

Classic spot right next to campus. Just finish a big test? Go here to relax, drink a pint, and eat some soul food.
