Was visiting San Francisco back in September and came across this gem on Google when looking for a local coffee shop. Initially stopped by the shop around the side of the building named "Piccolo Pete Delicatessen" or other. Be sure to go around the corner for "Piccolo Petes" cafe. Friendly service, great coffee, delicious food, what more could one ask for in the mornings? My favorite menu items are the "Spicy Mexican Mocha" and the "Mollete Toast". But Ive tried almost everything during my time there and they are all delicious. They truly take great care and time in the making of their food and drinks. On weekends they serve delicious French Toast. Its a must for anyone who loves coffee and breakfast.

Came here the other day because I was in the area running an errand. Had a latte and a breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was delicious and owner (I assume) was very friendly and helpful. He even recommended the sandwich to me instead of the pb&j (what I wanted originally) because I was going to eat while driving and the sandwich would be much less messy. Unfortunately the latte was not too great in my humble opinion. Maybe it is because I have a espresso machine and make my own latte, but it just wasnt flavorful enough for my taste.

We have passed the place many times over the years and wanted to stop in. It has a great rustic appeal and as we entered the smell of delicious hot soups filled the air. I was craving chicken salad. I love old time deli chicken salad. I couldnt wait. It was disgusting. The bread was delicious, the condiments fresh BUT the chicken salad was made with chopped up pressed deli chicken slices. Ive never had chicken salad made this way. Hated it.

Recently, I was informed that Piccolo Pete was the top coffee shop in my area (Visitacion Valley). Admittedly, it is pretty delicious. I was also told to try the toast, but I havent had a chance to do that yet. I was able to try the Spicy Mocha (which is REALLY spicy) and the La Senorita (has sweet cream). Both were amazing! If you are driving through lower mission (or Visitacion Valley) stop by!

3.5 stars rounded to 4 because these toasts are made by Petes with LOVE!I ventured out of my way to get toast here, and I thought it was good but tasted very homemade because the toast was too dense that overwhelmed the toppings (I prefer a lighter brioche style toast). Overall, tiny but cute little corner cafe serving a handful of fun toasts.

Be aware-- this place is NOT a notary public-- even though this page says it is. Google has the wrong information. On the other hand, five stars for answering their phone immediately a full half hour before theyre open.

Just a min walk to get there from my house. Pretty small and they only have 2 tables. But their breakfast will make your day. Breakfast little is my favorite one. And the guy from theres really friendly.
