Came for a Saturday lunch. Ordered the prime rib bowl with two sides. Prime rib is their Saturday only special. Menu says the bowl is $12. Got charged $17+. When I questioned why the extra charge, the cashier said the prime costs a little more. I asked why the price difference isnt started on the menu, she insisted it was on the menu. I didnt want to hold up the long line. So I paid for my overpriced food. I later went back to check the menu, and did NOT find anywhere about specials costing more. I am okay paying a couple more bucks for good food. I despise sneaky hidden charges. Now the food. The prime rib was nicely cooked. The meat was the only enjoyable part of the dining experience. The rice I received in my bowl was significant undercooked. One might as well just chew raw rice soaked in water. I went to the counter informing them the rice was undercooked and should not be served. And I would like a replacement. The cashier answered they would fix it for me. Then she kept on taking money from other customers. I went back to my seat right in front of the cash register, thinking they would do something to amend the error. 15 minutes later. Nothing. Well guess who wont be coming back. I spent the time writing this long review so people would know the subpar business practice conducted at Roast. The whole experience could have been improved if they actually cared about their customers. If you are reading this while standing in line to get food from Roast. Turn around and go to a different vendor in the market. You will pay less and get more elsewhere.

Ordered the Saturday prime rib special. The sandwich was okay, very small and didnt come with much of anything else inside except for sauce inside ia a white bun. What grinds my gears is that there was a $4 up charge on the special that wasnt indictated on the menu. I wasnt told of the 40% upcharge until after the sandwich had been made. I wouldnt recommend this sandwich for $14

OMG, San Diego one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had! This my first ROAST MEAT & SANDWICH SHOP, and I got the black bean patty with my choice of veggies and sauces, and everything was blended perfectly. The staff was super friendly as well. Im definitely coming back.

It was great. I ordered the porkchetta sandwich. The roll was soft and the pork was sweet with the surprises of pork fat crunch interlaced with the veg and sauce.

Should call the pork sandwich the pork FAT sandwich. And 10 bucks?! Lame $3 sandwich that was mostly just bread after I picked all the fat out.
