Ive eaten at Macau for several years and am finally ready to admit that theyre not as good as I keep hoping they are. After being disappointed the past few times Ive gone, its about time I moved on. Whenever I go, we always order a whole bunch of their salt and peppered dishes, like their squid, eggplant and shrimp, and their famous tofu dish. However, after several experiences of the same dishes that were once fantastic now turned bland and soggy, Im over Macau Cafe. Their prices arent exactly the cheapest for Chinese food and considering there are so many other Chinese restaurants in Sac, Id rather go someplace else for tastier food with bigger portions. My personal choice, Rice Bowl. Granted its not really Hong Kong Style, when you want good Chinese food, dont go to Macau.

I went during lunch time by myself. It was very busy in there with a bunch of middle-aged patrons. The waitresses seemed too busy to even get me the menu so I got it myself. The lunch menu is like $6. I ordered from the lunch menu and waited forever for my food. At least a waitress checked on my while I waited, wondering where my lunch was. The food eventually came and the portion was quite large. I was quite full. The food was average. They take credit cards for $10 or more, otherwise, theyll charge another $1 for credit card use.

As the name of this restaurant suggests, the menu is typical of the Portuguese Chinese fusion cuisine from Macau. A low-key environment, it is usually full of groups of people enjoying their meals. Ive gone there several times, and although crowded, we have always been able to be seated within a couple minutes. I usually order one of the baked Portuguese rice or spaghetti dishes because they are not common in the other Asian restaurants.

Food is ok but not unique, however the service just bad. My Waitress dont know about the menu and really dont know how to serve table. She pay more attention the chatting with coworker and two-thrid of empty tables instead the customers that were sitting down. Never once ask if everything is ok or refill water. Two stars are on the food, service will be zero.

One of those places you like to return to. Clean, extensive menu, friendly staff. Food I have ordered has been hot and consistant, with large portions and plenty of flavor. This is probably my fav Chinese spot right now.
