I am leaving a 3 star review because this place USED to make delicious super burritos. It isnt fair that I leave a 1 star. I used to recommend this place to everyone. The last 2 visits were a 1 star based on food quality, which has gone wayyyyyyyy down while the price has gone up. The first of the 2 visits there was a 1.5 hour wait with no explanation. Long story short, there is almost no meat in the super burrito...not like there used to be. I had to dig around to find the few pieces of chicken. It was mainly sour cream, beans, lettuce, etc. The beans also tasted like canned beans. Maybe because I went there around 11:45pm. It almost seems like they are catering to the drunk crowd more now. Definitely not worth the price. Not something Id want sober or drunk. Maybe their rent has gone up, or maybe there is another reason for the major quality drop and price raise. I hope they go back to good quality food. Otherwise, the super burrito is definitely not worth the money.

Okay, yes I know this isnt the best version of Mexican food but I still have a fondness for La Garnacha. They offer the quintessential Cali Mexican food experience. Walk up to the window, order, and eat on their patio. Nothing fancy at all, but really satisfying food. The carne asada fries are highly recommended when you have been out drinking with friends. This is a ridiculous amount of food. There was so much I had to weigh it at home one night. It clocked in at 9 LBS!!! Talk about food baby! And the fries, carne, and toppings are greasy, indulgent goodness that sop up a good amount of whiskey. The breakfast burrito is my go-to. Substantial and truly Californian. Stick with the veggie or chorizo version. The steak here isnt the best choice. Open 24/7 and the staff is nice at all hours (which is remarkable).

If I want to pay to get disrespectful, awful service, Ill call my health insurance company on their non-toll-free customer service line. Waited several minutes with no other customers before someone could be bothered to come to the window, then the phone rang so they answered that -- at length -- before taking our order, though we had been at the window already for some time. If their food was awesome, that might only be bad service. Since their food is just "meh" taqueria, its inexcusable. I wont be back.

Moved from downtown three years ago, got the taste for Mexican food one night, decided to drive from Rancho to 16th street. Place must have changed hands, dont remember there service being so horrific. Didnt get my order right, so the next morning I went back with the wrong order in my hand, they replaced it. But both orders were wrong and well, the burritos were as dry as a sand bank, worst Mexican food Ive ever had.

I ended up here after a night a partying and all I can say is "what an experience"! The bathroom is like an art gallery of graffiti which was pretty cool and the location itself was filled with really cool people. Someone pulled their car close to the seating area and played music for everyone to enjoy. People were dancing and talking and everyone seemed comfortable around each other. Great place!

The first mexican place I came across near Midtown that had a California burrito listed. 24 hours, friendly staff, and extremely good food. The breakfast Burritos are worth it any time of the day, the rolled tacos and California Burritos are also hella good. Portions are gigantic and perfect for the price you pay, which is affordable. Its one my regular stops, on my night bike routes.

24 hour Mexican food. Nuff said. Lol. La Garnacha has been around for as long as I can remember and has contributed to the gastrointestinal issues of many a drunk midtown hipster. Dont get me wrong, I have been the person leading the pack for 2:30am burritos. And at 2:30am those burritos are amazing! Not sure why, but at 2:30pm the same burritos are not quite as good. Hmmmmm.....

Visited here twice, as it is near my workplace. Both times, ordered burritos and both times, the food was bland. I expected more flavor and have had better. For the price, it was not good. Ill continue to visit La Garnacha, since its the only Mexican food place nearby, but if youre dying for Mexican, there are several restaurants within a mile of this one that have better food.

The worst attempt at Mexican food I have ever tasted. The cheapest low grade ingredients, prepared poorly and possibly rancid. This place should be burned to ground to keep people from dying at the hands of the slime merchants peddling this pig swill. No amount of alcohol you consume can make this crap decent but people keep trying. HORRIBLE FOOD!!!

The salsa was like Campbells tomato soup with Tapatio sauce mixed in to spice it up. Not good. I had two tacos that came to $6.74 so not too good a deal either, and I would not go back for the tacos. If you want something at 2 AM, your choices are limited and this would do, but there are many better options during normal hours.

This place is not open 24hrs, I drove 15mins out of my way from the hotel because I was looking for something open other then Dennys. Got off my car, the girl said were cleaning the kitchen right now and will not open for a while.... Im from out of town and fly out Friday, guess I wont be telling people about this place.

A great spot for those late night/early morning hunger pangs... or after the club when you need something to soak up all that alcohol youve consumed. Large portions, good taste, and the salsa is good enough to let you know that you arent eating at Taco Bell. Oh... and they sell Jaritos. I love Jaritos.

La Garnacha will always be the 2am drunk munchy food stop in Midtown. The remodel from some years ago helps, but the food is always the same. Decent, but nothing spectacular. How they deal with the crazy drunk crowd and still have good service after all hours of the night is commendable.

Most of the time when I go to taquerias like this I order more food than normally because the portion sizes are small. Not the case here. The food is hot, fresh and the portion sizes are very good. One of the best things about La Garnacha is that its open 24 hours a day.

Hole in the wall place along Pico, they grill their meat out by the front then finish on the grill inside. You can smell and see everything from up and down the street. Very fresh meat, very well seasoned. Best of all. Cheap.

Hot tortillas, hot meat after requesting hot meat for the second time in a row. Chefs have no standards and servers dont care about the quality of food served. Chicken dried than my grandma, and shes been dead for 15 years.

Terrible service. Stood there for ten minutes at the window as the employees stared at me, then after trying to get their attention repeatedly they eventually told us to just leave because they wouldnt take our orders

Im starting to become a fan of Mexican food. This is all you need, outside seating area, quick, quality ingredients, decent price and great service. My recommendation! go for the Carne asada or Shrimp tacos!

Quality is pretty hit or miss. Had decent tacos there a few weeks ago and utterly bad (very dried out) pork last night. They are open 24 hours though, so during that 2am craving you might not care
