Decided to try it after seeing it on Check Please. Because the episode debuted less than a week ago, the place was packed. This was overwhelming for such a small place. Ordering is cafe style: you read the menu while standing, give your order at the cashier, pay, find a seat, and then get your food. I ordered a burrito and said no jalapenos, but it was still hot. I think it might have been the sauce or beans. My mom had a steak quesadilla which was not spicy, so we traded. The quesadilla was excellent. I may try again later this year after things calm down, and order the quesadilla. The cashier was friendly. The service was acceptable for such a crowded place. Orders come with freshly-made potato chips that were incredible. Mom said the dipping sauces were also hot. Piquance is important to me because I cannot tolerate potent food. Not much of a location, just a strip mall. Because of the crowd the parking lot was packed, but we were lucky to get a space right in front of the place. I would recommend it, but wait awhile until the "saw it on TV" rush calms.

Its Mexican fine dining, and healthy too, but in a casual location. Everything is freshly made and with high quality ingredients- you can taste it. Little vegetable garnishes on your tostadas de tinga, empanadas, etc. The portions run small for the price, but the quality makes up for it. You can tell that their masas are freshly made in the house. Their potato chips arent your average Lays: these are thickly-cut, freshly peeled potatoes that make the flimsy Lays chips look anorexic. Try their chile relleno special sometime. Its not your average chile relleno stuffed with cheese: this one come stuffed with ground beef and vegetables. Its kind of like having a shepherds pie stuffed into the chile. My bf, who is a chile relleno freak absolutely enjoyed it. Even I, who could take or leave most chile rellenos, liked this twist on it. Parking can get cramped, but try this place out. I like this place better than Picante in Berkeley, which is the same genre.

This is the best mexican taqueria in Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek. Their use of organic top quality meats is mind blowing. The flavor is most excellent, so be prepared for a high level surprise if you eat at various taquerias. This is not your hole in the wall place, its a dedicated taqueria focused on high quality. I do want to say that there is no way I expected such intensity from their location on Contra Costa Blvd. They are able to move deep into downtown Walnut Creek and hold their own easily.

Never been here before but excellent food. A note to folks who have never been here before, parking can be tough. The parking lot is perpetually full for some reason so expect to take a few minutes to park. I had the Rojo Mole with Chicken, good but I found out tonight I am not a mole guy. I like cinnamon but it was a little too much for me. Otherwise the homemade tortillas and side plate with rice and beans was excellent. Will be back to try the Ceviche and Taquiitos plate.

$3 tacos...theyre small. I settled for a burrito. The burrito had minimal meat it was mainly rice and beans...my order was a steak burrito and a beer. Came out to 17.34. It taste exactly as you would think, rice and beans wrapped in a tortilla with a hint of steak. Wheres my sour cream? I literally wasnt expecting more than some regular Mexican food. This is under that. I came here because I googled best tacos but theyre just $3 for basic tacos.

The tacos were alright in flavor. The salsa doesnt have a ton of flavor...I was expecting it to be spicy or tangy. They charge you if you ask for extra tortillas. Also you must wait for everything to be made, so on a positive note everything is freshly made. The chips are sold separately. Those dont come with the meal. It is pricey eating there. Only one bathroom also...so prepare yourself for a line.

5 stars for the beef burrito! The seasoning was amazing. The beef taco and mozzarella quesadilla were just okay, and the taquitos were nice and crunchy and came with a cup of delicious lentil soup. The table next to us ordered roast chicken, which looked amazing, and we loved the burrito so much we immediately decided to come back later and try the breakfast version.

Its a small place, but amazing and delicious food. The potatoe chips were thin and crisp. The poblano pepper and potatoe torta was cooked just perfect. Nice and crispy bread, with a well stuffed filling. Flavors were amazing and the salsa with a nice zest. Would definitely recommend this place.

An all-around solid restaurant. Food was great. I had the chicken mole poblano - delectable - and my friend had the tacos - also tasty. The horchata was also pretty good! The menu felt authentic and extensive, so theres definitely opportunity to frequent this place multiple times.

Clean, simple, well-run restaurant with an emphasis on high-quality ingredients. The meat portions for the entrees are huge. Burritos, on the other hand, seemed to be of average size. Dinged it one star because the Mole Verde wasnt quite as flavorful as Id hoped it would be.

The torta de asada was as close tasting to one in Mexico Ive had around the bay, its hard to find a place that can get that close but super expensive, that alone takes the flavor away. Over all pretty damn good, Ill splurge again next week or when I get my tax refund next year.

Despite the ridiculous location, this restaurant is serving some truly remarkable food. The best mole poblano in the area, farm fresh ingredients, delicious cocktails, incredible tortas, super yummy chile Verde. I have enjoyed every bite of every thing I have tried.

Staff were very knowledgeable about ingredients when one of our party had dietary restrictions and were able to guide our ordering. The food is excellent and they have a variety of unique dishes - not much else I have to say about the food, just go and try it!

One of the best meals Ive had around here. Lots of great, homemade options beyond your standard Mexican fare. It can get a little crammed if you have a group (>4) but the food is delicious. Menu item can change regularly but the pork in chili verde was great.

I´m a middle class Mexican, you won´t find a place where the food taste like home made from the Central part of Mexico, IT WAS AN AMAZING CULINARY EXPERIENCE and of course will be back... tomorrow! I must keep trying the rest of the menu :)

Regional Mexican cuisine. Fresh and organic ingredients. Beautifully served. Friendly staff. Parking lot spaces can be very limited to find at times, due to competition from customers of the neighboring businesses in this small stripmall.

Very satisfied with my veggie burrito. They actually included guac and sour cream, since I know most taquerias charge you extra for those. As long as my burrito has all the things it says its suppose to have, then I will be happy.

The burrito was ok. Tasted like the healthiest burrito actually. But it did not exceed my expectations. Ingredients were, no doubt, fresh. The restaurant deserves another chance seeing that the place is full.

So this place wont be your traditional taqueria burritos and tacos but their food is quite simply put - amazing. I literally eat here once a week because their burritos and salsa are TO DIE FOR.
