Ive always loved this location - usually the host/servers/workers/management there are pretty awesome. Happy hour is 3-6pm Monday - Friday. Not sure if theyre still doing late night happy hour 10pm to close Sunday - Thursday. HH is 1/2 priced on most appetizers, not the small bites. My favorites are the California Roll (which is a huge "roll" and not your traditional cut rolls), Spicy tuna roll (same as Cali Roll), Mooshu egg rolls, tuna tartare, and the crab/artichoke dip. Nummy! Martinis are $7, and Beer is at a cheaper price as well. They have a rotation on seasonal drafts - AWESOME. The deviled eggs appetizer was pretty yumski, to share or to start, its a "small bite". Usually get a sandwich or burger, its a good portion and usually pretty standard fare. A favorite of mine is the pastrami with extra jalapenos on the side. It needs more. Comes with a salad or fries, or upgraded to bougier fries (sweet potato, truffle, garlic). The pasta is also good, normally seasoned well and lots of variety of flavors - veggies, meats, cheeses. The portions are sharable if you want to grab appetizers and an entree. I really believe their appetizers are the best things on the menu. The last couple times, meh. Especially when we were sitting outside in the patio, our server was never to be seen. She forgot our drinks, and when she did remember our drinks - it took forever. I dont want to blame the bar - but "the bar forgot the drinks"... really? or did you forget to put in our orders. FYI - Dont forget to get validation. Even if you stay the max - going into old town and stuff, its $6 for the maximum. If you forget, its $9. Save your three bucks. Ive spent the last two birthdays celebrating there. Shows you how much I kinda like this place.

Service drove our experience down to 1 star. We came in when the place was slow, before the lunch rush, and were seated quickly, but the service went downhill from there. We put in our order for the kids at the table, clearly stating it should come out first (which is why we put the order in so quickly), and our waiter vanished. Roughly 45 minutes later we finally got up to track him down - and were told that "itd be right out". Yikes. When delivered the plates were all cold, which lead us to believe theyd been forgotten under the heat lamps. To further issues, we still hadnt even received our order, and when asked, were told "Ill go look". At this point we grabbed a manager, and even still, most of the kids had finished their meals before ours finally arrived. When it did, there were multiple issues with the order, ranging from foods being cooked incorrectly to dish modifications being missed. To top it off, some of our food was cold. The manager did come by to check, and at the end did take off a single burger from our order, but this was never communicated to us. We only discovered this when we went to look through the check to ensure it was correct. A lunch that should have taken us 45 minutes took us almost two hours. Not pleasant. I hope that Yard House is able to correct this and should we try them again, have a much better experience.

Simply put, there is a lot to like about the Yard House. Its located in a prime spot right on Colorado, and even when its busy I have never had to wait for a table. Outdoor seating provides a nice view of the surrounding shops and road. As for the cuisine, well, when I was there I grabbed a burger, which admittedly was pretty damn good. The beer selection is simply fantastic; Im not sure the number they actually have on tap, but I do think its in excess of 70 or so. The staff was quite knowledgeable when I began talking to them about the selection. Plus, if youre stuck out on Colorado late, I believe the kitchen stays open late as well, giving you a good food option there. My only complaint is that in the two times Ive been there, the service, ahem, hasnt been great. The first time I sat at a table with a young lady serving us, who- as hard as she tried- simply didnt know the menu well and had trouble answering even simple questions. On the flip side, the second time I came, I sat at the bar, where I had a male bartender who just wasnt an overly nice guy. Thats fine if you work in accounting. But in the service industry, well, step your game up, man! Anyway, if this rating was based strictly on food and beer it might be a five, but add in the service and it drops down a bit.

So I feel that if you have been to one Yard House you have a pretty good idea of all of the rest. The reason why it is such a successful franchise in major cities is that the formula works. Great food, tremendous beer selection, plenty of space, great TVs for watching sports, and excellent service. Pasadena Yard House has this all. We went in with a party that included friends from Europe not as familiar with American beer and food as some others. Our servers was very knowledgeable about recommending beers based on personal tastes. The food was great as always. My personal favorites are the burgers, the tacos, and ahi tuna. Its refreshingly spacious for a Pasadena bar making it easy to hold a conversation even with a game on. I know I will be back frequently.

Horrible service, after an hour of waiting for food, not only couldnt our waiter tell us where are food was neither could the manager. Manager said, "I will go check" and never came back to tell us. So I went to the back to ask for it to packed up to go and the response was "oops sorry forgot to come back to the table". Simple question can we get it to go? answer was,,,, "Humm", next question I asked, is our food ready? Next answer , "I dont know " how hard is it to go ask the cook. Hello, your the manager !!!!!! Hour and half later, no answers and no food. Manager was ridiculous! This happened to over 4 tables that I saw. Place was well staffed so no excuses.

This was my first time at this yard house and although they didnt have the beer that I wanted to try I liked it anyway. My license expired in December and the bartender had to check with the manager Carl Johnson. Carl came and said that they wouldnt be able to do anything and whether i had another ID and I told him I had my Passport in the car. He asked me if I could get it. I told him definitely no problem and was very cooperative. when I came back he checked it and thanked me for going the distance, even though it was a inconvenience for me. He then bought me my first round of beer going the extra step. So bring your valid ID and say hi to Carl hes a good guy.

We always enjoy coming to Yard House. There is hardly a wait to get seated. And of course the beer selection is top notch. Look out for local specials on the beer. The restaurant is very clean and all of the staff are very nice. I highly recommend any of their tacos! All of them are excellent. And they also have very good pizza so if youre looking for something a little different, give either a try. Weve only had one issue in all of the times we have come but that doesnt stop us from going. Plus our kids love to get their picture taken in the photo both after we eat.
