Gas, brake, dip, dip. Gas, brake, dip, dip. Tell me when to go. Tell me when to go. Where? Gaslamp! What a gas! Cowboy Thursdays! Gaslamp recently starting promoting Cowboy Thursdays, featuring live bands, a DJ playing Country music, line dancing and instruction. I was offered free passes ($5 cover) and decided to check out Gaslamp for myself. Immediately walking in, the first thing I noticed was how upscale Gaslamp is compared to my usual line dancing haunt. Im talking laser lights, smoke machine, even the restrooms are an upgrade to what Ive been accustomed to. The dance floor, where all the magic happens, is a little small, but nothing I cant get accustomed to. It just means I cant really cut loose & own the floor like I usually do ;p The dance instructor brings baby powder for dancers to scuff on the soles of their boots and/or dancing shoes for spinning, as the floor is sticky and hard to spin without it. My cohorts kindly offered me some of what they ordered off the menu. Parmesan garlic fries - You had me at parmesan & garlic. Yes, even though I was two-stepping with the ladies, I didnt mind suffering from anti-social garlic breath. Hey, it was good! Lettuce wraps (choice of chicken or tofu )- Cilantro, cabbage, water chestnut, mushrooms, green onions, organic butter & lettuce. Trio of sauces on the side were sweet soy, sweet chili & sriracha. Yummy! Adding the sweet soy, sweet chili & a few dollops of sriracha, the chicken lettuce wraps were great while taking a breather from all the dancing. Bacon cheddar slider - I found this to be rather salty. I know, know, of course its salty, because of the bacon. However, coming from a bacon lover, I still found the bacon and patty to be too salty, even for my taste. Besides Cowboy Thursdays, Gaslamp has these designated themed days- Sunday Brunch Live Comedy Wednesdays Fridays 80s Nights w/ Knyght Ryder Ive seen Knyght Ryder perform previously at the Lakewood Summer Concerts in the Park. I enjoyed their energy while belting out classic 80s music, which I hold near & dear to my heart. Special events, such as UFC, tributes & gigs by comedy headliners like Jay Mohr & Andrew Dice Clay are also held here, with some having pre-sale tickets to accommodate high demand. A good amount of seating with tables & booths. Reservations make sure you secure a good seat, otherwise bar seating is available. There are private VIP areas with couches & an outdoor patio which is being renovated with heat lamps & such. Service from the waitstaff was friendly & efficient. We were brought out pitchers of water frequently, in order to hydrate from all that sweat dripping off us onto the dance floor. Parking is complimentary & in a private lot. Shall we dance? Fun times & great memories are to be held at Gaslamp Restaurant & Bar. I came away quite impressed with my first visit of Cowboy Thursdays, and plan to be a regular dancer there whenever I can. The vibe was chill, the faces were friendly & the atmosphere just right to get my country groove on. See ya next Thursday! Highly recommend!

This was our first trip here, purchased tickets online for Eric Sardinas, a blues artist we had seen several times over the years and were delighted he was playing close to home for us. Unfortunately he was extremely intoxicated and unable to perform, literally fell down several times on stage. Sad. Anyway, the food was really good, drinks came within minutes of ordering, and the staff was cheerful and professional. We even liked the opening band, they could have been the headliner...and they played a VERY long set due to Mr. Sardinas unable to find his way onstage. Well, we spent $300 in tickets, drinks, and food so still felt a bit ripped off...after emailing mgmt, we were promptly refunded our ticket cost and also given a gift certificate as a "thank you apology" for the unacceptable performance. Overall, a bad situation was handled well and we will return again as they did the right thing.

Went in for the Groupon Coupon offering 50% off your meal. Ordered the Slider Trio and a burger. Both were quite good! Their beer taps are quite limited, 4 i think? They do have a large selection of bottled beers. The menu is kind of limited, check the website. The atmosphere is the best part. the place is dimmly lit with a red glow. If you go in before 8-9 the place is pretty much empty. After that it fills up and some nights theres a cover charge. They have a large dance floor right in front of a stage. The bar is 0 shaped and there are booths and tables to sit at. I think you have to reserve booths after a certain time. Overall, Great place to spend an evening!

I gave it one star just to be able to write this review. We had to leave our card with the waitress before we could order for "security purposes" We ordered burgers with fries and onion rings and it was all cold the drinks were okay but it took another hour to get another drink. After trying to flag down the waitress several times we caught the managers eye who offered to buy us a second round with our order and get us a different waitress. My fiance got two drinks, his buddy got two drinks, and I ordered an ice tea which was served to me in a small solo cup and I only got one. I have,no idea how this place stays in business, we will never come back.

The start time of the artist I paid to see was 3 hours later than posted online. Too many underage kids getting in. And those who were 21. Were loud, obnoxious, and very rude. Too many bands before the main artist. And whomever books these bands did a lousy job of booking bands that would compliment the headliner. The sound was not right. And the bands were too loud. They drowned out the lead singers voices. And the drinks were incredibly weak. I have no desire to ever go back. I would rather drive to Corona and see bands and artists at M15. They handled things correctly. And I had a great time.

Saw Chad Smith and the RapScallions band there. Has a very close intimate experience with the band. Comfortable seats and everyone seemed to have a clear view of the band. I had the salad and sliders and my friend had the sweet potatoes and wings and everything seemed fine. Had great service. Limited tap beer, but had my Newcastle in bottles so I be happy. It was fun, got to talk to the band members and express how great they were and chat for awhile about the music business, of course your experience will very. So I like it. It was positive for me.

Was waiting at the bar for quite a while for someone to help me and the bartender who turned out to be the manager of the place kept ignoring me so after a while I said look Ive been standing here for 15 minutes and you havent even asked me if I wanted anything to drink. I was a little bit annoyed with my tone of voice and he took it the wrong way and called the bouncer and the bouncer escorted me outside and asked me to leave. They charged me $20 to get and when I asked for a refund they refused. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. 1 star.
