My girlfriend and I are constantly searching for great Indian food places, but proximity to where we live is usually the filter that limits us. All India Cafe was a curious but obvious choice for us! Extremely close to the Memorial Park stop of the Gold Line, and nestled in near Old Town. For as busy as the area can get, All India Cafe doesnt get much traffic, which seems like a plus to me. The result is a very cozy, calm, even romantic, and yet exciting atmosphere. The food is absolutely phenomenal, I highly recommend their Makhni Paneer and Malai Kofta. The only star missing is due to occasionally slow service. For never seeming to have more than three other tables occupied, it seems that the bussing could be quicker, if not at least more efficient. I wouldnt let this be an issue that deters you, as it is never serious or significant. Overall, a must try place at the very least!

girlfriend and I ordered delivery for valentines day. took over an hour to arrive. when it got here food was cold. we tried to eat it anyway and the taste was repulsvie. we also found bones in the cheap dark meat chicken which was an unappealing green color. we immediately called and requested a refund. a 40 minute argument ensued with the owner. at one point he went so far to say he does better in life than we do because hes been in business 15 years. we had to threaten him with contacting the better business bureau and he finally said we could come get our money from the store! we were amazed. we said fine, but the BBB will be notified. one of the worst food and customer service experiences of my life. he was screaming at us at one point. DO NOT GO

I only eat here when in Pasadena. They have South Indian dishes like idilies and uthapam. Best dish is their eggplant salad. (A baked Japanese eggplant filled with tomatoes, ginger, corriander and topped with yogurt.) It is consistently well prepared. The first bite makes you smile from ear to ear. They freshly brew their chai tea. There are not enough stars in the universe to rate it. Once you sip their chai, youll never go back to Starbucks again. Curries are good. I like the lamb massala. They will make it mild if you request. Their prices are comparable to other restaurants in Old Town- a high rent district. Try it! Ashe Macy

The food here, for the most part, is delicious. All of their naan versions are amazing. Especially the lamb naan. Our white rice last night was cool on arrival and completely cold within a few minutes. Service is usually a miss here unfortunately. Everytime I ate here it took close to 10min for a waiter or waitress. And they dont seem very happy. This is the second time we were served by an extremely soft spoken waitress who made it hard to get any info out of her. There is a male waiter who is pretty rude and complacent as well. Every time ive been in there with friends we have spent no less than $50, service should be on par.

Wonderful service and food. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will be returning to this gem of a place. I started my flavorful journey with the lentil soup, and for my main dish I tried the nirvana chicken with an order of garlic Nan and brown rice. It was my first time eating Indian food. I can compare the flavors of my food as similar to that of a Mexican mole or a mouth watering Italian marinara. Just such a rustic experience. They have lunch plates available and deliver within 2 miles. Welcoming hostess providing great customer service.

My husband and I will go far and wide for good Indian food. We ordered the tandoori chicken for two since it was our anniversary. While the flavor was pretty good, the portion was the side of an appetizer. We ordered the eggplant side dish, but the flavor lacked the usual depth we love about Indian food. The rice pudding was just sweet milk with a few kernels of rice. It was very disappointing. Most of the business seemed to be delivery. The wait staff were very nice though.

The delivery was fast and friendly. Onion Pakoras with tomato chutney were fantastic - even if they werent super crispy (fried items, tossed in a styrofoam container tend to steam and get soft). Great salty, savory flavor. And I would happily eat the chutney with a spoon. Nirvana Chicken was very good and very hot (temperature), spiced "medium" just like I asked. Rice was not included - I should have asked though. Garlic naan was good, but not great.

My favorite India restaurant in Old Town. Lunch specials are a great deal and come with a lot of food. I would personally recommend the chicken tikka masala, thats usually a good place to start in any new Indian restaurant and All Indians is some of the best in town. The meal is also served in a rather unique way, its served on flat round trays and small cups. This makes for a unique dinning experience found no where else in Pasadena.

I must say after being to all the other Indian restaurants in Pasadena, "All India Cafe" offers the most low quality food in terms of Quality, Quantity and Taste. I guess most of the customers are non-Indians, who dont understand what Indian food tastes like...so, the owner sells absolutely tasteless stuff. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY AND APPETITE AT THIS PLACE. IT SUCKS...

SUPER FRIENDLY staff. Great atmosphere. Gourmet food, with everything made from scratch. Astoundingly low prices. It was fascinating leaving out table and gazing across the open air divider at the hard working kitchen crew. You absolutely cant go wrong here. Sorry, I accidentally deleted my pictures.

I go to Pasadena 2-3 times a month and I stop in at All India Cafe first let me say it is not a cafe but a real nice restaurant. I have eaten the Tikka Massala and it is the best the serve some great chicken and lamb dishes there you need to go by and try it.

Been here about 4 times now. The food has always been fresh and tasty. The taste is authentic which is what I look for when I go to an Indian restaurant and All India Cafe does a great job at that. The staff is friendly and service is prompt.
