My adult daughter and I started becoming regulars at the Mug. I brought in my laptop and took advantage of the wireless. I did notice, however, that the owner/manager was never friendly. Sometime in the middle of 2008, my daughter and I went there to buy coffees. The router for the internet was not working. I asked him to reboot and said we didnt spend enough money to get access. He said combined we spent enough, but I had to spend more to gain inet access. Since then, I have become a regular at Starbucks in the circle and my daughter, my friends and myself have spent over $300/month for those 18 months. This could have been income to the Ugly Mug if it werent for the attitude of the owner/manager. And since we have a registered gift card at Starbucks, we also get free inet access. Great job, owner/manager!!

Was really excited about checking out this local coffee shop. Unfortunately we walked in at prime time on a Friday night and it took about 2 minutes for anyone to show up to take our order. On a positive note, this place has so much potential. Id love to see the service get better and for this to become a chill spot for Friday night outers.

Lol. Got a good chuckle reading the reviews. Yes, the owner is a notorious dick. Yes, the coffee is average, and yes the snacks are worse. Bad service, general bad vibe around the place... Weve all wondered why this place endures.

Great coffee and food. They dont have the ordinary menu either. With an assortment of specialty coffee drinks, its definitely worth a taste. Located in the heights, its a great place to park and walk around.

Not Starbucks, thats worth stars. Wasnt impressed with the ALWAYS unsmiling (on several trips over the years) and impolite employee. Maybe its the owner? Hes kind of a jerk.
