This place sucks! I went there for breakfast to see what everyone was raving about and to my surprize it was a horrible experience. First, we had to wait over an hour to just to be seated. Then we waited about a half hour to get our food. The food was so disgusting because everything was cooked in the same yellow tinted butter. For example, my husband ordered pancakes with eggs, hashbrowns and bacon. The pancakes were alright but we could not taste the difference between the soggy heavily saturated in butter "hasbrowns" and the scrambled eggs swimming in butter, and the under cooked bacon boiled in butter. It was all too disgusting even for a Marine who could not eat it. This place is not worth the wait or food. *My recommendation and a Local Secret* would be to go to Angelos for breakfast because they serve huge portions, the food is made fresh to order and delicious, the price is very reasonable, and you dont have to wait all day just to eat breakfast and you can enjoy the rest of your weekend out on the beaches while everyone else is still waiting for their breakfast.

Coffee while I wait? Im yes please! I try to avoid crowds by going during the week. Must try, (just a few): Cuban Black Bean soup! Corned Beef Hash Eggs Benedict Banana Crunch French Toast Coffee Cake!!!!!!! Sometimes there is a long wait, thats really the only real con I can think of. The bathroom, at least the ladies, is ALWAYS clean and beautifully decorated! Cant say enough fantastic things about the ENTIRE staff! Everyone is eagerly attentive. Exemplary teamwork resulting in tangible customer focused service! Parking can be a bit of a drag. I recommend parking on a side street and enjoying the lively ambiance this neighborhood has to offer. Also, if you have a common name such as Mark or Jason, get an alias! My table has been swiped by a different party... that really grinds my gears! Overall still not even close to being a deal breaker. You have a lifelong fan. Definitely worth the weekend wait of about an hour. Maybe bring a book? Talk to someone new? Drink fantastic Coffee?

Ive been living in Oceanside for about a year now and I would say one possible answer to "Why is it that everybody in Oceanside loves it?" Probably because theres not much competition Oceanside. That said Ive not had a bad breakfast here yet. And WOULD RECOMMEND going there with the friendly disclosure that depending what time you go, it can be busy and there could be a wait. I do agree they could step up the cleanliness when theyre busy. The service is friendly, good food and has a "local vibe". As I write BBC is building a new bigger location a few blocks north of where they are currently located. A bigger location should be pretty awesome for them and their loyal customers. I recommend having ONE piece of coffee cake appetizer for a table to share. It is very delicious and goes great with your coffee while you wait for breakfast. Give it a try. It will be better than the gnarly Carrows at the other end of town, thats for sure. Happy eating. -JetSetChef

Super disappointed. Some of our friends wouldnt stop raving about this place, so finally we had a morning we could go and so we went. The wait wouldnt have been bad if the food was worth it. Our waitress was awesome and quick compared to other places. I ordered poached eggs and they were hard. My wife ordered eggs Benedict and her eggs were hard...need I say more? We will not be back, dont believe the hype. We love breakfast and thats one meal we cook on the regular so if we go out for breakfast it has to be pretty darn good to sell us. We have had amazing breakfasts before, some mediocre, but this was just plain bad. If your craving runny eggs, you want runny eggs, and if your a breakfast place that cant cook runny eggs, were gonna remember you as that. As a side note, I let my waitress know about my eggs, she took them back, and they came back a bit less hard but still not runny.

You definitely get plenty of good food for the price! Very popular place, so expect a wait if you go during the weekend, especially if you have a party of more than 4 people. I had the Beach Break Burrito with the machaca (pork) and verde (green sauce). It was HUGE and comes with a choice of side (I had french fries). The verde is the best I have ever had, and almost as good as homemade! The fries were so so, but they were great with the verde! Some of my party had other brunch foods and the fruit toppings are fresh and delicious! I highly recommend Beach Break Cafe. Only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the restaurant is too small for how successful it is on busy days, and parking is horrible on busy days (Im disabled and had to be dropped off). Oh, and dogs are welcome (even encouraged by the doggie water bowls if you get a patio seat).

Met one of my BFFs for breakfast and boy was I glad! The area is really cute and laid back. It reminded me of a less hectic Manhattan Beach. We waited about 35 minutes at 10:00am on a Saturday to be seated, which was fine because were ALWAYS early, so by the time we were supposed to meet up, it was time to sit! I had the Huevos Rancheros with a side of fruit. The Huevos Rancheros were nice, not too spicy, eggs were cooked well (not overdone) and the beans were great (mostly pinto with a few black beans thrown in)! The fruit was TOTALLY worth the $1.00 extra charge; check out that variety in here!! Our waitress was super sweet and the food was really tasty. I think we have a new place to meet up with my SD friends!!

My husband and I just ate there for the first time this morning, since they moved. It was DELICIOUS! I had the spicy chicken omelette and my husband had the Greek omelette. Both were wonderful, and the cooks even cooked the hashbrowns "extra crispy," as I requested. Huge servings and so good! Oh, and the other thing--we both had the homemade coffee cake as suggested by the adorable waitress, Sara. It was divine. Not a heavy, tough coffee cake, but light with a yummy icing drizzled on it. The staff all were friendly and happy--you dont get that at a lot of places. All together, makes for a very nice ambiance. Will be back again, for sure! Now I see why theres always such a wait to get in...

great experience!!!! customer service 10 out of 10- from entering the door and speaking with the host/hostess to being seated. the waitress was outstanding taking our order and serving our drinks with in a couple of minutes, then food took less than 15 minutes to be out served hot. the coffee cake is phenomenal omg, we ordered a half sheet to go. I took my family of 5 and spent under $50 for everything. better yet we chatted for a little bit with the owner, she is super nice and worked just as hard as the servers. this is our weekend breakfast café for a long time to come hopefully yours too.

Stopped in for brunch on a Saturday morning about 11:00 am and told the wait would be about 30 minutes. Roughly 10 minutes later they offered us a spot at the counter and we took it. The food was fabulous. Large portions, well prepared, and very tasty. The service was just right, not too pushy, yet available when needed. The sides are simply enormous. The pancake side could be a meal unto itself, and the coffee cake is to die for. Family owned and very well run. We liked it so much we went back on Monday for another go!
