2/21/15 I spent an afternoon at Jack London Square and then visited with my husbands sister who lives in Oakland. We were hungry and craving pizza, so she suggested this Lanesplitter location - which wasnt far from her home. Ive had Lanesplitter before, and I like it well enough. They had a couple vegetarian options and I ordered two of the large slices. My husband ordered two slices of pepperoni and a soda (can) - I brought my own container of water. Our total was $18.53. We finished paying and found a table - there was only one other group seated at this point, and a couple people standing around - yet every table was pretty dirty. As we wiped our table clean, a woman came in asking for money. She asked each person in the place, and a couple kids gave her some change. We had no change and gave her only a smile. I was surprised the employees didnt ask her to go outside, but she wasnt there very long. We waited a few more minutes before the pizza came out, cooked well-done on request. I ate most of mine and my husband finished his. Before we finished, we found ourselves face to face with the same woman asking for change. We were seated at the table next to the cashier - why do employees find this acceptable? If she had asked for pizza, Id be okay helping out, but I dont want to be asked to give away money while Im eating dinner.

I cant say I am in love with this place, but its a great joint to check out for late night food. For daytime pizza, there are definitely better options, but at late night, past 10, youre not going to find better. I particularly enjoy their breadsticks but unfortunately, it is not gluten free as their pizza crusts are. The staff seems like a bunch of cool guys and the place has cozy decorations and local art hung around the place. Not bad at all.

Absolutely the worst pizza place in the world. Ordered from them, waited an hour, called back only to be told they decided my number was wrong for my address, and the delivery guy never even tried to deliver it. No one called to inform us of this, and they were literally going to charge my credit card for a pizza they just decided they would not deliver. They have just gotten worse and worse every year since they opened. Never again.

Two words: Garbage Pizza Floppy, thin crust, pieces of almost tasteless crap. Its not worth the $35 price. If you live near Downtown or Grand and are THAT desperate for takeout, order Chinese. God knows you are in the right town for good chinese :) Lanesplitter is where you go to get drunk and eat cheap crap... ...but even then u r better off walking to Plank and at least having the option of bowling while you eat crappy pizza.

tried this place for a togo order since its close by and didnt feel like cooking. its a little overpriced for pizza but the sicilian pizza was good...especially re-heated the next day. since i am new to the area i am not too familiar with a lot of the places around the area for good pizza and wouldnt mind going back to this place but i feel like there might be something more authentic in the area and for a way better price...

Worst vegan pizza ever. I got sauce and bread, thats their idea of vegan, by barely putting anything on it. Splotches of vegan cheese, and a tiny handful of jalapenos and vegan sausage. for 26$. Biggest waste of money ever. Thanks for the bread. GO to the the Star, for 30, you get a HUGE vegan pizza with lots of cheese, toppings, and flavor.

Im from New York, so therefore I am a pizza snob. Ive never had good pizza since I moved to SF, so you can imagine how skeptical I am with any advertised "real NY" pizza. Well Lanesplitter is pretty legit. The crust is not only thin, but the right kind of thin. Just needs more sauce and more greasy cheese and then itll be perfect.

Hey @schmeckle. LANESPLITTER is a great pit stop thats for sure..dont you think the guy is sick & tired of the flatlanders coming down the hill from Tahoe stopping & asking to use his bathroom w/o buying anything? Give the guy a break. They have awesome pizza & is a fun place to go have a beer & watch whatever game is on the tv.

Solid, traditional pizza. Reminds me of college. I think calling it NY style (or any style for that matter) is a bit of a stretch. Its just normal old pizza. Good for a slice when you are on the go, but I think if I was ordering out Id try one of the other pizza joints in the area. Oakland is sick with great pizza options.

I love New York Style Pizza, I love a place with an edge, and I love ordering by the slice. But if you cant make a good pizza, its a waste. This place is too expensive and perhaps they are trying to have too much variety for their volume of business, but the pizza always seems stale to me.

Always open till little later than other places and has really good pizza. Vegetarian and vegan options also available. Friendly staff and its decently clean. Prices are pretty average as well, not expensive. Accessible on Lakeshore!

This place is simply way overpriced & the pizza is not good. The location is conveniant but they need to either up their quality or lower their prices. I literally have no idea why there is a single positive rating for this place.

The pizza was flavorless, floppy and the cheese was barely warm, probably because of instead of heating my slice back in the oven as 99% of other pizza places do, they put it in a warmer. (Which is hidden from plain view)

If you really like bread and dont like the dough in your wallet then order a $50 pizza from this place. Loads of bread, little flavor and very poor value.

Others have complained about the dairy-based options here, but I highly recommend their Vegan Herbivore and Spicy Vegan pizzas. By far the best options.

Good. 4 stars only because it was a bit grungy inside although you could say you get what you pay for. In which case it maybe was little overpriced.

Great slices although they all hover around 4-5 dollars. Very quick bite and good alternative to arizmendi if just getting a slice...

They are awesome and they made my pizza gluten-free and was definitely delicious and thank you for the awesome customer service.

Decent place if youre walking by and need a quick slice but very over priced for moderatly good pizza if youre ordering a pie.

Love their pizza. This location isnt good for eating in but you can grab slices or a pizza and head to the lake.

Best thin crust in town. Fresh and quality ingredients too. Although its a little pricey. Not a sit down place.

Chopper, extra thin crust, well done. I like my pizza cut in square slices. They totally do that.

Ordered pepperoni and mushroom... barely one mushroom per piece. Worst $2.50 spent this week.

Better than Round Table but pretty far from being in the league of a NYC slice.
