[Edit in February 2014 due to recent experience.] I still love the food, when it shows up. See, this restaurant started doing delivery, which is awesome since its one of the few Indian places that delivers and has decent food. Unfortunately, theyre not as reliable as delivery service needs to be, and they dont do anything to make it up to you when the completely mess up. The last two weekend orders have taken over two hours! I get that its a weekend, but if youre overloaded either hire more drivers or just tell customers the truth. Instead, we got told it would be about an hour, and when 75 minutes rolled by we called, and were told 15 minutes. Lather, rinse, repeat for the next 45 minutes until the delivery guy shows up and in a surly tone asks me if Im the one who called. [Original Review] Beautiful architecture, great outdoor seating, a stocked bar and excellent service! What more could you ask? Oh yes, food.. fresh and made to preference the food is quite good. A bit expensive but worth it. Also, the selection is slightly more interesting than the average north Indian bay area choices.

I ordered delivery -- always nice to have another place that will deliver Indian food -- but it was absolutely disgusting and they messed up my order, too. The saag paneer was tasteless, the prawn curry even MORE tasteless, and swimming in grease, with rubbery chunks of shrimp that might as well have been old squid. The naan was gummy and had no flavor -- it must sound like I have a cold or something, but honestly, there were no "authentic Indian spices" to be found. And the veggie samosas were just salty tasting. The entire experience was wretched. Avoid this place. Go to Flavors of India if you want a chain -- its further up College -- or Shaan, down on Fruitvale in the Dimond District.

There is nothing special about this restaurant. We went there for lunch buffet. For $7.99 because it was July special (normally its $9.99), we got free naan and a soda. The naan was but just blah, very dry. They had about six dishes for the buffet, some vegetarian, some meat. They had chicken tikka masala, spinach paneer, tandoori chicken, dal, lamb, and several chutneys. The food was OK, not authentic Indian food. Slightly better than the Indian fast food restaurant across the street (Currylicious). The patio is very nice, cool and private. Servers are OK, fast but probably dont like working there or something because they never smile at you. I wont go back there again.

On Oct 30, 2015 around 9:30 PM walked into this for a Take out. ordered the Special Seasonal Vegetable Biryani and a mango lassi. Lassi was too sour. And when I opened Biryani at home, it looks like sambar rice and smells bad. seems it was mixed with veg curry in the rice and given as Biryani. That too it was too olds. smells very bad. Charging $12.99 and got a bad one. Cant able to eat atleast a spoon with the smell it has. Worst of the worst Indian food I had in USA as of now.

Some people love to complain about everything. I thought the food was great, and the place was really pretty. It IS a little pricey, but thats okay. I wish the complainers would stop--their comments are almost never useful. It just makes them feel powerful, I guess, to complain.

The food and service is excellent! One of the brothers of the owners is very sweet and accommodating. My favorite Indian Restaurant in the States. They have a cute outdoor patio - with gas heat lamps for cooler evenings. I definitely recommend it.

Loved the food and atmosphere here. Went there on a Groupon so got a deal, which was nice because the food isnt cheap. But overally highly recommended. Id sit on the outdoor patio next time. Bring a sweatshirt!

Excellent food & atmosphere. It is good to dine in and get take out. They usually under quote you on the time for your take out to be ready so plan accordingly.
