Continuously good at making one drink, the Beanscene Blast. Otherwise, they tamp their espresso too hard, they dont steam the milk hot enough or correctly so that you have separation. They dont seem to care about measuring. They actually poor cold milk into your cup and then into the steamer and then back in. Crazy. Just know how much milk you need. Its not that hard! Also, their syrups taste expired. The service is good until you ask for a change or make a small complaint. Then they become insistent that you order coffee incorrectly and only they know how to make it right. Trying to come here instead of corporate coffee place. But they need to improve their overall standards. Of course its owned by a local for the past 30 years and dont need to make a profit to stay in business, so they dont care how bad they make coffee or treat customers. Really sad because I would rather come here if they would just make an effort to improve.

Fun little local coffee house in the area. It does really well, especially considering the proliferation of chain coffee places all over the place. Beanscene is a nice place to hang out for an afternoon, and their coffee and pastries/snacks are good. The Beanscene Blast or Kids Blast (blended coffee or chocolate drink) are kind of famous around town; both are delicious. Pro-tip: buy some chocolate-covered espresso beans from the little machine, and theyll blend them into the drink for you as an extra boost.

This place has been here in Oak Park for many years, but always seeks to improve! Their classic drinks always please, but their small food selection also includes freshly prepared items like waffles and sandwiches. Ive always wanted to try to come to their live entertainment and wine bar on Thursday nights.

Bean Scene has been my coffeeshop of choice for working on my laptop for over a year. This place has what we coffeeshop entrepreneurs call the Holy Trinity: ample power outlets, fast wifi, and good coffee. Theres always a great crowd - especially with music and food truck events on Thursdays.
