Where to start... Like the other reviews... This place tries wayyy too hard to be upscale and trendy. It just looks like a chain restaurant. The only thing I do like is the outdoor seating on a sunny day. I live in NYC, so I may be a harsh critic, but the pizza here was such a HORRIBLE disappointment :( This is NOT what authentic italian Neapolitan-style pizza is. The pizza was just hard and dull. "House-made mozzarella"?? The mozzarella was tough and rubbery. The chicken sandwich was okay, the pesto was yummy. The chopped salad was an awkward assortment of flavors that didn't come together. The service here was nonexsistent. The waitress was so RUDE. We came in for brunch and were the only people seated, but she was so incredibly inattentive, the bus boy basically took care of our every need. When I asked a simple question, she gave NO HELP or suggestions at all and gave a snide remark before we ordered. WTF?? The owner or manager came out and asked how the pizza was, I told him it was okay. He then gave me a LENGTHY SPEECH of their "pizza credentials". If I wasn't impressed with the taste of your pizza, WHY would I be impressed with your speech? He even told me he was good friends with Lidia Bastianich... get over yourself!! I think I'll just stick to Lombardi's, Lucali's or Grimaldi's in NYC..... I was optimistic and tried :-/ OH... and below is the CO-OWNER'S response to my review (I guess he's desperate for the negative publicity!). Wow!! Shah B. has sent you a message on Yelp: Pizzeria "Lauren, Where can I start...It's sad to see people like you think of themselves as food experts. You clearly don't know what a neopolitan pizza is, and the best pizza joint in NY you came up with was Eataley...Really...you couldn't name one great pizzeria out there when I asked you. so get over yourself and continue dinning at Dennys and Pizza Hut."

Loved this place the first time. The grilled artichoke is the best item on the menu. Though they state they are open till 9 pm, expect to get a cold reception from staff if you arrive after 8:30 pm. You might be able to get pizza, but not much else. The pizza toppings (e.g. arugula and prosciutto) are innovative and good. The crust is pretty good. Salads not so great. The chicken caesar is stingy on the chicken and the lettuce, dressing is heavy with anchovies (ok if you like those) and it is served with a toast that is smeared with something very unappetizing that looks like pale peanut butter. Sorry, did not have the courage to taste it. I have been to this restaurant about six times now, but the late evening receptions we have gotten the last few times have really turned us off. Think we are done with Boca Pizzeria. Too bad. Ill miss the grilled artichoke, but not the snotty attitude of the employees. Decor is great, by the way.

I dont think these guys know what they are doing! Any self-respecting pizzeria that claims to serve Neapolitan style wouldnt serve a pizza with that thick a base and crust. Feel like i just paid more for round table pizza. Even the ingredients were not of good quality. Not to be bias since I am not getting anything from Pizza Antica in strawberry village, but their pizza blows bocca right out the water. i would say make the extra effort and go there instead.

i beg to differ with the previous review. i grew up and lived in nyc for the first 40 years of my life and while there is a particular style of pizza there, it is not the end all and be all....boca pizzeria is a great moderately priced addition to an area with not a lot of options. the pizza is good. the entrees are very good. in fact, the chicken entree is excellent. try it.

This is my go-to lunch spot whenever the boss man allows me to use the corporate card to take out teammates or vendors. The pizza (any pizza really) and short ribs (pasta order or entree order) are the things that really represent Boca Pizzeria. The service is consistently great and they never rush (Ive had 2 hour meetings here before!). Great establishment in Novato.

Sausage and pepperoni pizza was just ok. Sausage and pepperoni tasted great but was haphazardly distributed so some slices received no pepperoni while others were way overloaded. Crust was denser than you would expect for a higher end pizzeria. Small draft beer selection and the chopped salad were good.

Food (my group split one of most of each of the pizzas) was pretty tasty. I think you pay for the ambiance a bit though. We went for lunch, but theyve got heated patio seating that would be pretty great for dinner, I imagine.

Wonderful food, friendly service, delicious pizza and the appetizers are to die for! The pecorino flan is unique and incredible as is the polenta. I LOVE this place!

Not pretentious, good food. Gets crowded early on weekends with families. For some reason they switched the carbonara to have chicken instead of pancetta. Weird.
