Husband and I stopped in on a Mon. for dinner. When arrived, there were 2 other couples in the room - one with a woman who was talking, loudly, about all of her previous arrests. Well, you guessed it, we were seated directly next to this awful couple! We asked to move and were moved across the small room. We could still hear her but tried to ignore. We ordered a glass of wine for me (which we were charged $6.50 for instead of the $6.00 as stated on the menu - so check the menu and your bill), and my husband had Chicken something and I had the Browned Butter Spaghetti with Mizithra Cheese. Each of these came with a large salad with plain old garden variety lettuce (but it was crisp), a few olives, and dressing that didnt taste like anything (we both ordered blue cheese). Then the entrees arrived. Mine was so smothered in Mizithra cheese that when I dug into it and put that first bite into my mouth, I thought I was going to choke. It was sooooooooooo salty it made my eyes water. So, I removed most of the cheese (I know Mizithra is itself on the salty side but this was just way too much) and tried a few more bites. I finally gave up and put it on the tableside to be picked up. Told the waitress it was virtually inedible because it was like eating a salt lick. My husbands chicken whatever was, likewise, salty. I dont know if the cooks salt things heavily here because when we left the place was filled with mostly older folks - but, really people, let your customers salt their own food. The garlic bread was totally lacking the garlic part, i.e., it was bread with butter (maybe) on it, toasted. No garlic whatsoever. The interior is basically a large room that has been chopped up into smaller pieces with old tables and chairs in it and literally NO atmosphere. We will not be back.

They proudly/desperately clutch their Best Of 2006/07 at the front desk, but this is 2011 and theyve lost their touch. The place has a great layout and its charming. But thats the only thing I liked about it. I had a small artichoke special pizza and their chicken ravioli. It cost me a wholly undeserved $30, not including tip. The "marinated" artichokes are just canned artichokes, and they didnt bother to drain them properly... so when the pie got to me, it was resting in a puddle and the crust was completely soggy. My chicken ravioli was a disgrace. It came with a joke of a salad-- large clumps of iceberg, sliced olives, and cheese served on a plate too small to attempt to bite-size the iceberg clumps. It also came with garlic bread: a hoagie roll slathered with garlic butter and baked. The worst part was the actual ravioli. I was not expecting this loose, mealy cheese mixture devoid of flavor, with formed chicken bits here and there (think school cafeteria chicken nugget sans breading, diced). The "sauce" is just butter, so get ready for a flavorless grease bath. The service was pretty bad, I think this is because theyre understaffed, and the staff is underpaid and under qualified. I feel like theyre getting their friends to come post reviews; I dont understand who would say these amazing things about this place.

My girlfriend and I met for a late lunch mid-week. The inside of the restaurant looks to be recently remodeled. We grabbed one of the few booths and the cautions looked and felt brand new. Looking around the dinning room, the rest of the table and chairs looked fresh, as well as the paint and trim on the walls. My girlfriend is gluten-free and I usually dont share a pizza with her because the gf crust typically taste like pressed saw dust. But I decided to share a large meat-lovers with her as I wasnt very hungry while she was "starving." The thin-crust gf pizza is great. They have a delicious sweet pizza sauce. Not sure what they do different with the crust, but I would have no problem ordering gf again. I ended up eating over half of that large pizza. They also have gf pasta dishes which is rare.

Based on what I read about how good this place was, I decided to try it. Having high expectations, I was a bit disappointed. I had the basic chicken wings as an appetizer. Its wings were cooked but it seemed like the barbeque sauce was poured over it and servers. 2 legs and the rest wings, which as you know, as no meat on them. An obvious cost cutting method. The Cesar salad wasnt quite tossed, more slapped together, so there was salad that was not covered with dressing. I then ordered the basic spaghetti and meatballs dinner. I was not impressed with the spaghetti at all. Tasted like it was right out of the box. The water used was still present at the bottom of the dish. I will try this place again. Everyone deserves a second chance...

i work for a local business in edmonds.. the first time i ordered portofinos was today for lunch... i decided to try something new simply because the typical pizza was getting old.. but seriously i had the greek fries and their classic grinder and its the best thing ive ate on a lunch break in a long time... so flavorful and you can tell it was crafted with care. not just tossed together to run out the door.. i really appreciate the service i received from both the driver and the customer service rep i talked with while ordering. the food was top notch. i will be returning for lunch again vvery soon!

Every few months I go back to Portofinos hoping I wont get an upset stomach. Because their food tastes good and the atmosphere and location - those things make me keep going back. But without fail I cannot even make it out of the restaurant without having to rush to the bathroom. That bathroom is the pits. Come on owners, not putting a dime into remodeling the bathrooms over the years is pathetic. You gotta be making enough profit to throw some money into them. They are one of the worst I have seen, including ones at gas stations. Please make your cooks wash their hands too!

Italian meatball sliders are DELICIOUS! I had to quickly get some food into my 13 year old granddaughter on her way to a voice lesson. We spotted this out-of-the way (for me) little restaurant and gave it a try. They were able to get the sliders ready in less than 10 minutes. I tasted them and was delighted that they were so tasty. My granddaughter, who is a budding chef, liked them so well she made me promise to write a review. They cost $8 plus change (including tax), more than I initially wanted to pay, but I decided they were well worth the cost.

Such an awesome little Italian place! I come here whenever Im craving pasta. The prices are great, all the pastas seem to be in the $10-12 range which is much better than the $18 range that I see in most other local Italian restaurants. Their portions are well sized, more than enough food but it doesnt feel like theyre trying to stuff an entire box of pasta in you either. One of the best things is they have a little low carb menu; its only a couple items but its so convenient when you have one person who is trying to cut out carbs, but you need pasta.
