This place SUCKS!!!!! Went to the Newark location for Easter breakfast and it was a joke. $12 per person and there wanst really any food!!!! Constantly running out of just about everything, staff standing around talking. 1 staff member standing by the rear door texting on his phone for aprox 3 minutes and only stopped after he saw the manager heading his way then stuffed his phone in his real quick and scuffled off to look busy. The management had NO control over anything or anybody. Apparently they were running out dishes because the dishwasher was running out collecting the dirty dishes off the tables (while the people were still seated at the tables) and attempting to wheel a 3 x 5 cart through the narrow aisle ways. They even ran out of coffee. My daughter was getting some yogurt when 1 of the managers (i use the term VERY loosely) reached over her with his arm pit literally inches from her face to serve himself a cup. Listening to managers explain to customers why things were so unorganized?!?!?! LMAO, are you serious?!?!?!?! Hmmmm, explaining to the customers why they couldnt do theyre job?!?!?! Watching the other employees running aroung doing nothing?!?!?! No food in the trays?!?!?!?! I give this fiasco 1/2 a star only because they were still in operation and not shut down. They were not filled to capacity but maybe 80% full. It was easter but HomeTown buffet has been around a while so I would think they have record of past holiday crowds so they would know what to expect. Even if not, the every aspect of the entire operation was grossly mismanaged. I will never be eating at Home Town buffet ever again. The only thing I took home from that is a story that tops most other stories of how incredibly bad the meal was.

This buffet sucks. I went there about 3 weeks ago, when I went to get a fork there was little pieces of dry food on them. My aunt ortheted water and it was disgusting, I dont know if it was the water or the glass but it was definetly gross, it smelled as if there the glass was there for ever. That wasnt the worse the manager and service was very very rude. The manager came up with stupid scusses every when I told him about the water and forks. The place was so dirty that even the MANAGER had stains and dirt. Food wasnt that good especially desset, I mean it had plastic in it, I told the manager about it and he just got mad went of topic. They should have another macabre because that one is a complete a** whole. DONT EVER GO THERE!!!!!!!!!

the GM is very rude. ive seen the way he treats hes employees and its very disapointing that he has a position that he doesnt deserve. he knows nothing about respect towards employees. only reason why hes still there is because of his way of managing cutting workers and loading others with work for 2people and putting food thats cheap and not good. terable manager! hes always supervising and not letting guest enjoy food peacfully, when hes at the meat section and cuts meat for guests gives nothing but a slice of skin to make that piece last. place is super dirty and needs remodling asap. all these effects and he thinks its his employees fault when it all starts by the way he runs the place, which he doesnt know.

the food is OK, the place is nice. The manager seems a little annoying. I think he is an Indian guy who runs around making sure you get as little food as possible. Especially, if the manager is handing over you some salmon or fresh steak from the stalls, he makes sure that he hands over as little as possible. He is even annoying looking at you when you are eating the food in your table. I think this Indian Manager does not know that this is a buffet restaurant and people deserves to eat at their own comfort. I think this place badly needs a new management staff.

Never been here on Easter, but the normal breakfast is $6 a person, not $12, and the food is quite good, especially the omlettes made on the spot. The people are friendly; Ive even had a busboy thank me for coming. Granted, this place is not Golden Corral. The selection is somewhat limited for a buffet and not everything is perfectly prepared. Still, I can always find more than my fill of tasty food, the atmosphere is pleasant and the people go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. You cant ask for much more from a cheap buffet.

We are old customers for more than 15 years. The breakfast is our favorite and we have many unforgettable happy family time over there. Even thought we have no idea for dinner, we usually decided to go hometown buffet. But......, we dont see much improvement in food quality and restaurant environment. The unique beef tripe soup in breakfast disappeared , the restroom keep leaking for many years,..... the only good thing is the customer service is above the average.

I am a long time customer for Home Town Buffet. I like the new dishes in the stainless steel bow during the Sunday breakfast and lunch time. It may provided in other times. but I was in this location on last Sunday and the Sunday a week earlier.

Food was good. Didnt need to add any seasoning. Great place to eat lunch if you are out and about. However the bathroom needed cleaning. I would have given 4 starts but the dirty bathroom took it down to 3 stars.

The food here is just terrible!!!!!! Salad bar was just awful. Had the driest piece of chicken I ever had in my life!!! The only thing was acceptable was the fish... Everything else just YUCK!!!! Like seriously!!

l like this place, I usually go Saturday evening, they serve beef ribs and steaks, ribs kind greasy, but steaks are not bad. taco and chips are crispy. deserts are so so. Price is ok.
