First visit. Tried the early bird. Soup was luke warm but taste fair. Egg roll was greasy and the red sauce on the table was watered down. Paper wrapped chicken was okay. Fried won-ton okay. I ordered garlic chicken. Had no garlic flavor and was very salty. My wife ordered shrimp with vegetables. Flavor was okay. White rice, tea, and cookies came with dinner. Busboy came to our table with cart of dirty dishes to bus our table while we were eating our fortune cookies and almond cookies. Price was $8.55 for my dinner and $9.55 for the shrimp dinner. Will not return.

Ive been going here as often as I can for as long as I can remember, probably about 20+ years. I grew up with them right around the corner, and it is a place I try to return to whenever I am down visiting my family. They deliver but I prefer to dine inside because the restaurant is usually pretty quiet and the tableside service is really good. I always get the Won Ton Soup, Potstickers, and the House Special Prawns.

The flavors are a little on the mild side even when ordering "spicy" dishes like Kung Pao, but the flavors are tasty and a little on the sweet side. The fried potstickers are yummy, and i prefer to make my own dipping sauce from soy+chili paste+white vinegar (the way they make in Taiwan) though asking for these ingredients seems to freak the wait staff out a little.

We have eaten here for a million years. They even deliver. The service is great and I love the food. The ambiance is relaxing. I work for a Doctor and patients always ask where a good place to eat is and I always refer them the Lakeside. They always come back and thank me and also rave about it.

Rushed service , smaller portions than other restaurants , and what szechuan restaurant doesnt have hot chili oil......cant believe that its rated as high as it is.....definitely Americanized chinese food .....must have been rated by friends not customers

We come here, most of the time specially on Wednesday for a fried chicken... Our extended kitchen, my husbands restaurant for a long time. He is well served by them and they are all nice, friendly people specially the Owner. Foods are all delicious..

Placed an order @ 3PM for a 7PM delivery. It arrived 40 minutes late and it was cold to luke warm. Must have been sitting there all that time waiting. Guess they need an 8 hour advance notice. Not happy.

Lakeside Chinese is a real treat that we enjoy fairly regularly. The Hot and Sour soup is AMAZING!!! I wouldnt spend my money on chinese food anywhere else in Mission Viejo.
