This is our place. Waiting for a seat in the bar has never been more welcoming, enjoyable, and delicious. Great barkeeps, unbelievable menu items, and always a festive atmosphere. The baked Oysters all cheeesy are a must. ---------- update----> Tried and true, we have been going for years. It would be 5 stars a few years ago. Now, I cant wait to spend an afternoon or evening sampling all their appetizers and delicious salads at the bar. But stay away from their meat - consistently overcooked, and unedible steaks, you should opt for a burger. The last 4 or 5 times we have ordered steak and fish, its been brutalized, sorry to say. "Rare to Medium Rare" came out well done, last time, and a table of 3 steaks and one fish, all were MR with zero pink in them. These are Fridays and Saturdays too, so their A-team must be working. I am not sure whats going on there, but its frustrating. So back to the lower priced meals, or a bar table littered with endless starters... we love all those apps!

We were told to go here by locals which is usually a positive thing. In this situation, not so much. We felt like this place was past its prime. The whole experience, food, service and ambiance was mediocre. The server is what bothered me the most, it was like we were a burden to be there, she was annoyed with our questions and made us feel like we were just a number in their revolving door. Maybe it holds nostalgia for some, but for passerbys, dont waste your time or money.

Buckeyes looked nice with a great atmosphere when we walked in but we were very disappointed when we were told the kitchen had closed early. It was 10:15pm and the kitchen was posted to be open till 11pm. And it was Friday night! The hostess said it was because it was slow but the barroom had at least 10 people in it. We drove quite a way to eat here...not serving food during the posted hours for a place of this caliber is very bad business in my opinion.

I went here for a company lunch with about 12 of us total. The food was excellent and well presented, and the service was great. The staff was very accommodating and timely during our time there which was in the middle of a lunch rush. The cocktails were good and pretty standard, full bar and an excellent wine selection. This place tends to have more of an old fashion atmosphere and an older crowd. Very good, but not a very lively place for a fun night out.

Excellent drinks. I was really stoked when I saw they had Brandt beef on the menu. I ordered a steak and I was honestly a bit disappointed when it came out. It was okay, but it really wasnt cooked as expertly as Id expect for the price - no caramelization on the outside, and the cut I got was somewhat gristly. Dessert on the other hand was fantastic - Im still seeing the smores pie in my dreams. For what we paid for dinner, I dont think Id go back.

We came in around 9:30 (they close at 10) but they made us feel welcome and unrushed. Loved my tender calfs liver with bacon & onions. My husbands brisket was nicely done but its sauce lacked any interest. For the price you pay, plates should come with a few vegetables -- I found that annoying. I liked the wine, though it was very high in alcohol. Overall, not a bad choice but a few minor changes would have improved the meal enormously.

Amazing food and service. From perfectly prepared filets, chops and salmon to house-smoked beef brisket with horseradish mashed potatoes, quail and chili-lime brick chicken, even seasonal wonders like deep-fried fern, we are happy to cross a bridge for our favorite special occasion spot. And if you like plenty of lime in your Key Lime Pie like we do, you are in for a treat. We always have a great experience at Buckeye Roadhouse.

Over the years, I have eaten at the Buckeye three times, and the first visit was the most memorable and enjoyable. My second was on Thanksgiving a number of years ago, an all-around waste of time and money. Recently I tried it again. The Roadhouse is beautiful, service was very good, but the food was still a disappointment. It was presented well but lacking in flavor, and in the end overpriced and not a good value.

If I had to name my favorite restaurant in the SF Bay area, it would be hard, but I think Id say The Buckeye Roadhouse. Their entrees and desserts never dissapoint. I love their fish, their beef, salads, pretty much anything Ive ever ordered here. The atmosphere is great, whether youre seated upstairs, downstairs or in the bar area. Highly recommend!

A great old fashioned steakhouse meets modern feel. The food here is fantastic and you really cant go wrong with whatever you order. The great thing about Buckeye is that you can sit in the more formal dining room or wait for a first come, first served table in the bar area. Great atmosphere and causal dress code.

Classic American restaurant on perch near Sausalito in large well-appointed lounge and vaulted bi-level dining room. Wide-ranging menu is hearty and pleases all from salads to salmon, sandwiches to brisket and steaks. Comfy upscale casual vibe with ace servers and popular bar area. Valet parking.

The best thing on the menu is the smoked chicken salad and the smoked chicken wings -- and the Manhattan with the big round ice cube. Past that, focus on anything smoked -- its a smoke house and they do a great job. Its a lively scene -- cougars and men with expensive cars, beware.

Wood paneling around a warmly lit bar gives you the feeling you fell into a lodge rather than a roadside Mill Valley establishment. Cocktails that delight, chicken wings that exceed the expectations of any expert and entrees that warm your soul (or maybe thats the wine?)

Marin/Bay Area classic restaurant with booths in the bar area and white tablecloths elsewhere. Everything on the menu will satisfy cravings, healthy or otherwise. Dont pass it by again without stopping in to have a cocktail at the bar or sit down for an elegant meal.

Both the food and atmosphere need an upgrade. Not entirely unhappy with either; the menu was loaded with comfort food that I gluttonous-ly consumed (brisket) and then laid on my back for hours asking myself why...interior was dated in a charming way.

My first visit, and I can understand why this place is a favorite for many people. Service was great, and our waiter really focused on making our dining experience special. I had duck confit and it was delicious. The bar looks welcoming too.

Good food but not as good as people think. Seared ahi tuna salad..really food but overpriced. Needs more than 3 pieces of small tuna slices. Skirt steak and truffle fries...outstanding..rib eye..tough. Roasted artichoke..seriously over rated

The waitress was great! But the cook, messed up or order twice. Steak was ordered Medium Well, was delivered, Medium Rare! We were disappointed when the steak was returned, it was burnt. Once sent back again, it was corrected.
