If I would be able to give negative stars, I most definitely would. I cant believe how disrespectful the staff was and how horrendous the customer service was. I walked in with my boyfriend, my brother, his girlfriend, and a friend and was not greeted by the three host/hostesses that were just standing around at the front cashier. When waiting for a few minutes, one gentleman asked if we would like to be seated inside or outside. I requested to sit inside, and the host looked around the room (which had numerous booths and open tables) and stated it would take 10-15 minutes. I decided to wait, and when we were finally seated (after two other parties were seated before us), he threw the menus on the table and walked away without saying anything. I wanted to walk out at this point, however my boyfriend assured me that the service would get better. My brother walked out of the building because he had left his wallet in the car, and when the waitress came to retrieve our drink orders, she consistently rolled her eyes and was being extremely disrespectful when asking "what do you want?" When going through the four of us at the table and looking at the empty seat, she stated "so is this person gonna come back or what?" I was fuming and at this point told the host to cancel our drink orders and left the restaurant. Never have I been mistreated so badly, so I decided to call the restaurant to speak with the manager. When calling in, I spoke with JC (I believe was his name) and when telling him that I wanted to express my discontent with their establishment, I was answered with "um, okay." UM OKAY? ARE YOU SERIOUS? He then said I should come back and get a different server. I told JC that I would not return to the Kettle, and I just wanted to let him know of what our experience was like. Im still infuriated by the terrible service!

I decided to come to this restaurant for my birthday but the experience here ruined the whole day. My food took extremely long, 3 families before us received their food faster than my small group of 3. My waiter was very attentive to his other customers but kept passing my group when we were trying to alert him that we needed assistance. The icing on the cake would have to be when they tried to overcharge my card, I told them the correct amount and asked for a new receipt to sign to verify the price; They gave me the receipt with the correct amount which I did sign but they still took the wrong amount out of my card WITHOUT MY SIGNATURE VERIFYING THE AMOUNT. Taking $64 dollars out of my account for a $20 dollar bill. The manager was of no help as well stating that he couldnt do anything about. So that whole experience ruined the rest of my birthday plans. I will never step foot in this place again and neither will my friends and family.

The food is pretty good. Not incredible, but it appeals to my taste, particularly the breakfast. Id recommend the mushroom, spinach, and jack cheese omelette. The Kettle really is at its best when you consider its unique atmosphere. No other restaurant in this area quite captures the feeling of traditional Manhattan Beach than this one. Its cozy, casual, and cute. Considering its open 24 hours, try stopping by later at night to get an interesting view of people high or drunk out of their mind stopping by for a 2 am snack. Service has been good and bad. I have come here in large (10+) parties and gotten very bad reception, as the staff tends to get annoyed when large groups come in to eat. However, there are some really nice waiter, waitresses, hosts, and hostesses here; you just never really know who youre gonna get.

I usually come here a lot just for dessert (Bread Pudding) to be exact. But tonight we decided to have dinner. When my appetizer came out it was clearly burnt but my waiter Felipe brought it to me anyway. I let that go but then the service was inconsistent and unprofessional. I watched him just talking with staff while we just sat and wondered if we were going to be checked on. He would ask if everything is okay then run off before I could fully answer the question. Again Ive been here several times over the years and recommend this establishment to a lot of people. Needless to say I was very disappointed. I will still come but will not want help from him again!

Stopped in for breakfast and was seated by the host. And sat there. No wait staff came by - none even made eye contact! The host (whose job it is to make sure that the party he seats gets served) didnt check back nor make eye contact until I waved my menu at him. He apologized and said hed have someone right over. He seated two other parties who got immediate wait staff attention. I got up and went to the Koffee Kart where you always get immediate service, good food and lower prices. The Kettle just doesnt care. I think the waitress who was assigned my table was a very old lady who could barely get around and had a perpetual frown. Maybe I was lucky!!

Enjoy breakfast at night, or lunch in the evening - the menu is literally just a guide - to give you ideas, mix, match, and ask for your own creation! Your time at The Kettle isnt complete if you dont try their incredible muffins that are mini-butter cakes. So good! Whether youre coming back from the beach and want a snack, or are getting a good meal before you go out with friends for dinner, or are hosting family and have a bunch of kids - youll still have a good relaxing time eating at The Kettle!

Super Service. Total freundlich und trotz voller Hütte immer da und auf das Wohl der Gäste bedacht. Das Essen ist bombe. Tolle Burger und Sandwiches. Immer total frisch. Great service. Very friendly stuff. Always focused on the guests even the restaurant is full. Burgers and Sandwiches are always fresh.

Bon ce nest pas une catastrophe non plus mais rien de génial. Pour le midi cest très bien et au moins il y a des salades et une terrasse. Sauf que je trouve bizarre toutes ces mouches sur la terrasse quand on mange... Pour le reste ce resto est très bien placé dans ce magnifique endroit quest Manhattan Beach.

Everything was extremely salty and greasy and just too much cheese. Price was $$$, and the setting was cramped and overcrowded. We were seating on the veranda and still disliked the amount of chaos going on around us. Food was really below mediocre. Ordered crab cakes and sandwiches and soups and appetizers among the four of us and none of us was really genuinely happy with our food and eating experience. Go if you like, youll probably be okay... but dont expect anything that will make you glad or relieved that youve went there.

I am a concierge and at my luxory hotel we always reccomend the Kettle. However I was really dissapointed by the food and lame service (my sausages were so hard and breakfast potatoes were also tasteless... it took forever to get our food and the waitress barely checked on us). I think the only good thing about it was that you can see the beach as you eat and it feels great with the breeze. ** Another co-worker warned me that this place was overrated but I had to check it out for myself and it was just OK.
