Honestly wasnt expecting much from this place but I was craving bbq so bad and my wife suggested we check it out. Found parking in the back and just sat at the bar because it was full. First things first you have to order a beer because come on its a bbq place. I had delicious IPA that was on tap for the day. Next I ordered the player with 4 st Louis style ribs, brisket, chicken, and pulled pork. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. The way they smoked the meats and seasoned them was just great. Its not like the most amazing bbq but its pretty close! I loved it so much i ordered another half slab of baby ribs and sucked them down. In additio the waitress was so so nice and we appreciated her attentiveness while she was slammed with customers. Overall great experience. Drown it in spicy bbq! Corn bread is homemade and warm with a slight crunch and fluff in the middle. Mac and cheese on point and a red potatoes salad on point. Great place can wait to return for ribs!!!

Im not sure why this place has such great reviews. Decided to try this place after seeing it pop up on Yelp and with such amazing reviews. Im guessing all the yelpers havent been to a real BBQ place. I decided to try their baked beans and Mac and cheese for my two sides. The Mac and cheese had no flavor!!! Not good at all, the beans were hard!! Very hard!! Difficult to eat, I was very disappointed because I am a big fan of baked beans. Now on to the meats, I ordered the two types of ribs they have the baby back ribs and the St. Louis ribs, both were very hard and not tender. When I think of ribs from a BBQ joint I usually picture the meat falling off the bones bc of how tender it is. Not the case here! The total opposite, very hard and not tasty. I give it two stars for their BBQ sauce. Disappointed with this place because I was hoping we had found a BBQ place near home and wouldnt have to drive to the valley for some great BBQ!

I cant complain AT ALL. Ive been here twice on drives from San Diego to the Bay Area, and both have been amazing. I get the brisket sandwich, and they load it with too much brisket. Thats exactly what we would want. The smoke and tenderness were perfect. Their sauce is excellent. The bun was solid, holding the huge sandwich together well. It was just a little sweet, complementing the meat well. I had beans and a cole slaw on the side, and both were quite tasty. The beans were a sweet variety while the coleslaw was a little bland - perfect for contrasting with the highly flavorful BBQ. I ate every bit of them. Total cost with an iced tea was about $15. The interior was OK. It was a hole in the wall with a bar. The music is straight up 80s DOR (modern rock) like Depeche Mode, New Order, Simple Minds, etc. Servers were nice, sociable. I will continue to come here. Looking forward to my next visit.

If youre ready for a do-si-do of a good time, slap on your chaps and your boots and square dance your way over to max city bbq (yes I just vomited every southern/cowboy reference in that I knew off the top of my head...). The space is modern western, and but the food is all down-home fabulous. The lunch special one of the best deals this side of the Mississippi, with your choice of protein and two sides and corn bread for under $15 (prices vary depending on ribs, brisket, etc). The baby backs were smokey and tender, the corn bread crunchy and moist, the mac and cheese a testament to creamy perfection, and the potato salad was chunky and balanced with the diced pickles and onions strewn about. And their seasonal blackberry almond pie was a decadent end to a lovely lunch!

I was very disappointed by the false advertising at this establishment. We bought the package that claimed it served 12 to 15 people and we were sadly disappointed that it served about 8. The food was delicious but absolutely not the amount that it claimed to be. Unfortunately, when I called instead of trying to help me, I was told that my options were bring back the food and get a refund or buy more food. The server on the phone was extremely rude, not at all helpful, and had a very poor attitude. He insinuated that I was trying to get free food. Actually I was just entertaining 11 people and overcharged for a much smaller amount of food than had been advertised. What a crappy experience for my sons 6th bday.

Ordered to go on Fathers Day, called at 7pm and was told they are closed to see how much food they have left since they were so busy that day. The nice lady took down my name and number and actually called me back after 30min letting me know the restaurant reopened. Ordered Spences Platter of Pork, their ribs are to die for, I definitely like their St Louis Ribs better than their Baby Back; pull pork is so juicy. Tried their Mac n cheese, was ok, since Im not a big Mac n cheese fan. Will definitely try their brisket and tri tip next time. Only draw back not enough parking have to look for parking in the streets.

First time visiting Max City and I gotta say I was impressed. Food was on point and my server was a cute nice girl with a huge big smile, I felt very welcomed. It was the best Baby Backs I ate in a long time, the St Louis Ribs were okay, baked beans needed just another few hours on the pot to get more soft, the potato salad was very good, i also liked their cornbread muffins and the atmosphere was great. Its a little hole in the wall with a nice mix of old school music playing in the background, I will definitely come back here again. I recommend anyone in the area to come and try for yourself.

Theres arent too many great BBQ places in my area but I was very happy to find out about Max City BBQ. The first thing I noticed, when walking inside the restaurant, is the smokey aroma smell. I really enjoy their pulled pork sandwiches, Tri-Tip, and chicken and they do have that smokey look and taste. Great food and great service. I just wish they would serve garlic mash potatoes as one of their sides.

I got the chicken with mac and cheese and the collard greens.. Also liked the touch of Mexican 7up on the side. My friends got the fried chicken and the ribs with pretty much the same sides. The food was prett perfectly done. Typical comfort food with a slightly custom flavor. We got seated really quickly and they seem to have a quick turnaround. The ambience was pretty informal.
