The Wild Wild West of Eagle Rock/ Highland Park has a new Boss in town. Many of the spanking new restaurants serve plenty of tasteful decor but forgot their cooking basics. Not here at the Public House. The right balance of interesting ingredients not for the SAKE of having trendy names on the menu. Flavor and presentation blend harmoniously with the surrounding; understated and solid. I always give one extra star to restaurants that offer beer flight. If I like small plates, I also like small but variety of beers with dinner. FYI, Public House charges a 3% "living wage" surchage on your total bill. Unless you have a pocket magnifying glass, you will surely miss the tiny type. I would rather the restaurant "raise the menu price" than for me to find out about this surprise charge when I get the bill. It is a very manipulative practice. Yes, I am not thrilled about this but I still highly recommend Public House for the food and ambience. I just wont go back myself until this practice is stopped.

Eagle Rock Brewery Public House serves as serving outlet and restaurant for the actual Eagle Rock Brewery. Their interior is contemporary and semi-industrial with exposed brick walls and wooden ceiling frames with case lights. Service is moderately good and their beer and food is fantastic. Admittedly, I only tried their Coconut Panna Cotta, which was amazing, and the Seasonal Ice Cream, turned out to be the Jujube Sorbet (not highly recommended). As for beer, I had their Imperial Stout and found it to be incredibly delicious. Theres a lot of bench seating so you may end up having to share a table with other patrons. Keep in mind that they only serve their own brand of beers so choices arent extensive.

We tried two different flights, "little a this, little a that" in which the wrecked alley imperial stout and red trolley ale were our favorites. The trophy case flight was great too. The waitress brought beer pairings with the starter, soft pretzels with herb aoli, and entrées, carnitas dip and pastrami sandwich, and did a great job describing the flavor profile. As a heads up the food portions are large. We were completely full and were wanting to try more beers. We will be back again and hopefully they will have the peanut butter cup Porter!

Im always reluctant to go to a brewery because I drink cider and normally theres only one for me to order. Not at Eagle Rock Brewery which is awesome. The selection is impressive because the ciders are from all over the world. I was happy to try a Pear Cider from Spain, which was considered one of their sweeter selections and really wasnt that sweet at all. And they carried 101 which I love because its dry and local. I look forward to coming back and trying another one!

2 stars for atmosphere. I did not like the food. Well the fish and chips were decent but my friend felt sick later on that night. But the chips are actually chips and not fries as expected. The brunch Hash is just absolutely horrible and both my friend and I knew how to cook a better hash. We dont plan to ever go back there.

Nice small local spot with a variety of brews by Eagle Rock Brewery and some guest taps and bottles. Not your typical pub faire, but an elevated take on it. Worth the price and worth stopping in for dinner and a couple pints. If you hear about a special dinner event here, it is even more worth stopping in.

Food selection is off the chain! Chairs arent super comfortable but it has a nice warm atmosphere - not temperature wise just friendly and welcoming wise. Could potentially seem pretentious but does not come off that way. Food is great, drink and beer selection are great! Love it!

A proper restaurant fitting of Eagle Rock Brewers excellent suds. They tend to serve excellent food here, its a good place for finger foods. Spacious, plenty of seating and well lit. If you havent been, also check out their brewery, near Glassel Park

Beer selection is not big. Manifesto is decent. The food is great. The Pork Tenderloin, and Cod Sandwich are top notch even though if your hungry the pork tenderloin will feel like a drop in a bucket. The vibe is nice. Cool spot to hangout.

Great spot with a open and trendy feeling, had a couple small plates and oysters both were excellent and the service was also very good. Im not a huge fan of beers anymore but had the flight and was very pleased. Highly recommend

Really tasty brunch, relaxed vibe. Jerry was very friendly and introduced himself to us and made sure we liked everything. I just wish they made better beers! 5 stars for food and experience, 3 for Eagle Rock Brewing beers.

Tapas? Kinda. Either way really good small plates including desserts. Beer selection is ok. Only one IPA on tap (populist). Staff is awesome and the place itself if very interesting (esthetically).

Nice food, good happy hour prices and quality beer are dependable here. Only drawback: Draft beers are all Eagle Rock Brewery. They make great beer, but variety is limited.
