I, too, am very picky about Orange Chicken. One of the best things about Thai Fantasy is that if you have a particular way you would like your choices prepared, the chefs will do their best to meet your expectations. I REALLY DO NOT LIKE the typical orange chicken on most Asian or Fusion restaurant menus in the vast Los Angeles area. Most of what Ive experienced is doughy mush balls like what you might get at a Panda Express, for example, or any of the countless strip mall buffet / fast food, barely Chinese places that exist in abundance around here. I like my orange chicken extra crispy and Thai Fantasy has yet to disappoint me. If I order vegetables in brown sauce, and I like their brown sauce even if it is a bit salty, I request that my order have very little sauce. I dont like to waste food, so I make it as clear as possible exactly what Id enjoy and on only a very few occasions when I was "experimenting," did I get a menu item that was unsatisfying. I for one am not a fan of fish heads. They make me paranoid, like theyre staring at me with that one cataract clouded eye! I say if you give a place like Thai Fantasy a fair chance, have more than one meal there before giving them a bad review. The staff, servers, and food prep chefs will extend every courtesy to make sure that everything about your meal meets your expectations. They have done so for me 99 times out of 100... and that one bad experience I had... I believe I was so drunk, unlike how I am normally, that I ordered something so far out that my digestive tract was unprepared. That night I, like others who have left reviews here, worshiped at the feet of the porcelain Buddha! I didnt blame the food, I blamed the booze and my stupidity. As for the folks who got bad meat or ill prepared food, I hope they realize that restaurants that have been in business as long as Thai Fantasy do not, and cannot put up with such customer dissatisfaction. Dont you think theyd be out of business in a heartbeat if their food was always so very bad and the service always sucked? Heres an idea, if you get something bad, that you dont like, or that might taste odd, or that smells like poop: SEND IT BACK AND GET SOMETHING ELSE! Seriously, did someone really struggle with bad meat, finding 80% of it terrible? That means they continued to sample it even though it was awful. Why? This is America where no one who can afford it should ever be dissatisfied with a meal anywhere! In conclusion, I really like this place. Im just sad that so many seem to have had a bad experience while eating at Thai Fantasy. Im not crying, but I could be...

We had dinner last night at Thai Fantasy restaurant. It was a small place in a strip mall. When we got there (around 5:30pm), there was no customer inside. During the roughly one hour stay of us, we saw two groups of people coming in for dinner. So the point here is this place does not have much business on a weekday dinner time. The food tasted OK, but the meat quality was very bad. We ordered red curry with beef, and a noodle dish with beef, and an salad called "laab". The "laab" was made with ground meat, and it smelled terrible (kind of like poop smell). I could not touch it because of the smell. My husband ate it, but did not like the taste. On our way back home, my husband started to have upset stomach and abdominal pain. About two hours after the dinner, he had to run to the bathroom. Based on our lifestyle, we had to conclude that it was the laab that caused it. The ground meat was probably not suitable to eat any more. Now, about the beef in the red curry dish and noodle dish, the beef was very chewy and hard to swallow. We chewed on the beef for a while, and then had to spit it out. This happened not to one or two pieces of beef, but to over 80% of the beef in the two dishes. Also, the rice was extremely dry and hard to chew. Tasted like left over rice from a week ago. On the way to the bathroom, we walked pass the kitchen. We saw a huge pile of cut-up meat (chicken or pork). We rarely saw red part of the meat, but the majority of the meat was white (fat). That made me feel I must have eaten a lot of fat that night. In conclusion, I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Normally 5 Star and we get delivery all the time. Tonight it took and hour and 20 minutes to arrive which would have been fine if the food wasnt cold and the 2 Thai Iced Teas hadnt had their cups punctured spilling completely into the bags surrounding them. I spent over $50 on food and about $10 of it was good, meaning the shrimp salad. So sad I didnt even want to continue eating. I just gave up trying to make it ok. The microwave can only do so much. Also one of our favorites the orange chicken normally crispy and delicious hot or cold was soggy and mushy. Yucky!!! Theres plenty of leftovers and Im pretty sure they will sit in the fridge for a while. Normally its all gone with maybe a snack for the next day left. My family fights over this food. Not tonight. :-( I would have told them directly but they have no website to tell and Im afraid if I called them directly I wouldnt be so nice.

I got the chicken torta lunch special for $10. It was pretty good. What prompted me to write this review though was the salsa and the french fries. The salsa that came with the chips was awesome. Usually I dont think twice about salsa when it comes to the table. I eat it till either the chips or the salsa is gone and that is usually the end of it. I went through three servings of this salsa. I might be insane for thinking it was so good. The fries that came with the meal had a very light dusting of cayenne pepper which really put them over the top. All this raving about salsa and french fries might make it seem like the torta was no good, but it was definitely good.

I am lucky enough to live just up the hill from this restaurant, and have enjoyed their great dishes more times than I can remember, and I have never been disappointed. The ingredients are always very fresh, and look like it, and the service is always fast and friendly, even when delivered. It is obviously a family run restaurant, which is obvious in the way the food tatse ( wonderful). Their "House Curry" is one of my favorite dish, perfect with a iced Thai tea. Anyways, a great family Thai restaurant. Try it at least once - it just might become one of your favorite. Love it!

Good food, but the personal that work there tend to be bias on people they feel uncomfortable with. Especially that one asian female cashier and waitress that take the orders. For example, I don't go there often but when I do it feels like I get the cold shoulder. Especially when there are other individuals there that seem to have a bit more. I order my food and they don't even look into my eyes and provide a warm welcoming or appreciation. Yet, to others they do.... I guess it depends if they judge you well at first sight, if not you will not feel comfortable.
