Food: I want nothing else here but the Earl Grey Ice Cream (even though everything there is amazing) this is by far my favorite ice cream of all time. Everything here is natural tasting with the perfect amount of flavor. The only thing is, they dont always have the Earl Grey flavor it in stock. Two of our trips here, they werent serving the Earl Grey - sad would be an understatement. Its the kind of ice cream you dream about on days youre not having it. Scooping the soft and creamy treat with the tiny spoon from the beautifully crafted ice cream container is one of the most soothing things Ive ever done. Carmela, if you guys are listening, please have Earl Grey ice cream all year round... and forever. Atmosphere: So cute. Its like pottery barn meets vintage white doll house. If I were to decorate a beautiful ice cream place... this is how it would look like. Its a nice desert place at the end of a date. Its not jam packed, theres a cute place to eat by the window - looking out at the night streets. Just adorable. Prices: Good prices. Parking: There are metered parking, its in a busy part of Hollywood, but weve never had trouble parking.

Very very cool place! Our friends who lives in the area brought us here after dinner one night. They have about a dozen different ice cream and sorbet flavors that changes frequently so you never know if your favorite flavor will be available. All of which you can ask to sample before deciding which you want. We must have tried every single one of them but I ended up getting just a single scoop of the chocolate sorbet. They also have a really cool hidden back room with a door that looks like a commercial refrigerator door! Our friends guided us to the back where theres a private room with disco lights, a photo booth and a screen projector that can be used to project off the wall. I believe you can rent the space for parties if you desire. Cute place with delicious desserts! Definitely coming back when its warmer for more!

Carmela has a good selection of ice cream flavors that they get from their creamery in Pasadena. I personally think the ice cream at the Pasadena location tastes slightly creamier, but this one is still good! I tried a couple flavors here and I think my favorites were earl grey, salted caramel, and lavendar honey. The worker was very sweet and helpful in telling me about their different flavors and were also very generous in giving you samples. I was surprised that I actually liked their salted caramel because I am usually not a salted caramel kind of person. You should definitely stop by after shopping at the Grove or lunch at Mendocino Farms. Free 1 hour parking across the street if you validate at one of the shops there :)

This is regarding the Pasadena location. Incredible ice cream w/offbeat grown-up flavors. If youre tired of the same old chocolate, vanilla, strawberry flavors you find at every local ice cream shop then give Carmela a try! You wont be disappointed. Extremely flavorful, creamy ice cream. Recommend the mint cacao, salted caramel, and rocky road (seasonal) if they have it (they make their marshmallows in house!!!). Definitely a place to grab & go as there is no seating available. Just another excuse to grab ice cream w/those you care about and wander the streets happy as can be.

Food: I tried the lavender honey and salted caramel and I didnt like it. The lavender honey was too sweet and the salted caramel was too salty. I dont know I just felt like the flavors didnt work well together. Brown sugar vanilla and earl grey is the way to go! Theyre the safest choices. They were pretty good but the main reason why I liked it is because of their homemade waffle cones. Its the bomb. Price: Very expensive for ice cream...not sure if its worth it really. Parking: We parked at the Whole Foods parking lot. Other than that I think its just street parking.

Super cute little spot with a hidden photobooth hangout room in the back. The booth was small but we managed to smush in 6 girls...not comfortably of course but made it! Came back out after our mini photo shoot and tried a couple of flavors but the the brown sugar vanilla bean in a waffle cone cup stole my heart. I added half a scoop of salted Carmel at the bottom cuz I was feeling wild. Unfortunately, my wild idea was a flop bc the salted caramel was underwhelming. Brown sugar vanilla bean all the way!

Definitely my favorite ice cream in LA. The Lavender and honey is to die for and the chocolate with chocolate chunks is the best chocolate ice-cream ever. If you are dairy intolerant like my brother, dont worry, you will hit the roof when you try their chocolate sorbet - so rich and creamy! The shop fit-out is super cute and my espresso was superb. Cant forget to mention the super cute and friendly girl who made us feel so welcome.

Unique flavors; affordable prices. This is a small place and parking in on the street (sometimes). If no luck, you can park across the street but is expensive, $4 every 15 minutes. Park on the streets behind this place but look the parking signs. You dont want to pay $70 for a scoop of ice cream. They have another store in Pasadena. It worths to pay a visit. Quality of Ice Cream is superb. No visible public restrooms though.

Fantastic. Great people working the counter, too. Gotta get the Dark Chocolate w/ Nibs. Its a life-changer. LA has a lot of ice cream places that advertise as real, but they are essentially like getting a frosty from wendys, or some other cheap soft-serve joint. Carmelas and McConnells have been the only two places Ive encountered (so far) that live up to the name "Ice Cream" . Really great!

Salaaaaaaaaaaam This place smells so good, Bed Bath & Beyond should make a candle scent out of it. Owned by Persians, meowwwwww! I swear I couldve tried every flavor cause its so damn fresh and good. The Pistachio, Almond, Coffee Chip, and Mango are all really good and all that I have tried. The smallest cup you can get is $4 and 2 scoops.

Comparable to Bi-Rite in SF, Carmela offers great flavors and delicious housemade waffle cones. Our favorites: Fresh Mint with Cocoa Nib, Pear Champagne Sorbet, Strawberry buttermilk and spiced apple sorbet. The ice creams are not overly sweet and the texture isnt super creamy like Salt & Straw or Milk.

Nice neighborhood and friendly staff. Nice options for yogurt. And not to mention, you have the option to put your yogurt in a waffle cone.....havent seen that in California yet!! They also have a kid playground, which is a BIG plus. Way to go Carmela Ice Cream erstellen!!
