OUR NEW THAI GO-TO PLACE. My wife who is 10 weeks along on her pregnancy, who hasn’t been able to eat much of anything the last 2 months, surprisingly had an appetite when we ate here on an early Friday evening around 7:15PM in late July of 2016. This comes almost to no surprise because the FOOD WAS AMAZING!!! The restaurant is in 2-story plaza with many businesses, so it might be tricky for first-timers to find the place. It’s at the bottom level, towards the right if you’re facing the building. Once we entered, it was a little over half-full and we were seated immediately. What I liked about the MENU was there were a few pages with 4x6 PHOTOS of some of their specialty dishes. This is very helpful especially when you aren’t sure what to get. I also liked that the menu was not very overwhelming, and that the fonts used are large. We ordered the COCONUT RABBIT DUMPLINGS to start. It’s a combination of meats served with cute little bamboo skewers/toothpicks placed on top of cucumber slices and served with a cucumber/pineapple/onion relish/salsa and some light sweet orange-colored sauce. (Forgot what it was) This was very good and it got me excited for our entrees. We chose the SHORT RIB MASSAMAN CURRY because according to the description it was a little sweet (which is what I felt like), and had potatoes versus the PANANG which had French beans. You can either order it with rice or fried Roti. I asked for both of course. When you dip that deep fried goodness into the thick MASSAMAN CURRY sauce, you’d wish they’d give you more sauce. But unlike other places where they give more sauce than meat, I’d rather have the quality and balance of this dish than those of others. This was prepared well. You can tell by looking at the sauce that it’s bursting with flavor. We also had their PAD THAI. I can’t explain what it is, but there’s a hint of flavor that makes all the difference. I’m not sure if it’s really the flavor that’s different, or am I just tasting the love and care that the cooks are putting into their dishes. Many reviews say that the price is a little high, but for the quality that you get, I don’t mind it at all. I was able to avail of the free lime Thai iced tea. Instead of the normal Thai tea with milk, this had lime so it’s more of a summer drink which was appropriate during this extremely hot week that we had. As we were getting ready to leave, more people were coming in. This is definitely a local gem, a place I don’t mind driving to from where I live 10 miles away to have a great meal. We are already talking about going back. Coconut Rabbit definitely has great quality that you can taste.

What a great find! Although we live in Long Beach, this is now our favorite Thai restaurant and well worth driving over to Los Alamitos for. The place is very clean and beautifully kept up, and the food is perfection... everything fresh and perfectly cooked. The only suggestion I would have is that Id like to see them get some individual infusing tea pots that Ive seen in several other Thai restaurants. When I ordered Ginger Tea, what I expected was fresh cut ginger in an infuser. What I got instead was a poor substitute: a paper tea bag of dried something that left a lot to be desired. But this is nit-picking. Aside from the tea, everything else was amazing.

Got Pad Thai and jungle noodles to go. Let me start with the jungle noodles. It was intensely spicy, for me at least. I usually have a moderate to high tolerance for spicy, and I could barely get through half my plate without burning my taste buds to death. However, once I got over the spiciness of the noodles, the dish was pretty good. Although I dont think I would order them again. The pad Thai was alright, not the best Ive ever had. Overall, the place was ok. Ive had better at a number of different places. However, considering I do business in the area, I wouldnt mind coming back. Maybe Ill order something different the next time.

I love this place, I found it while in town and make it a point to stop by when Im in Los Alamitos. The food always tastes fresh. One of my favorite dishes is Short Rib Panang Curry with brown rice, came back and tried the Tamarind Mint Glazed Chicken Wings and Coconut Rabbit Crab Curry which were a delight. Next time around I had Stir Fried Chinese Eggplants with Tofu and an awesome lime iced tea - Thai Cha-Ma-Now. Try this place out, their service is always a pleasant experience and the setting is nice.

I have been at Coconut Rabbit because of the review on Yelp last year. Sat at 2nd table away from the front desk. Wow I got one hour break for lunch , yeah . Ordered. After 15 mins, said it is coming. After 30 mins, said it is coming. After 45 mins, I forgot your order. What did you order again? Didnt hear they say sorry , me and my friend just go back and grab something quick on the way back to work. Never had a chance to taste their foods. Thats all the story. Enjoy your time.

Creative Thai fusion, but I prefer traditional Thai. My friends love this place, but I feel it is overpriced and too far from freeway. Instead, I recommend Banana Bay and President Thai. :-) We ordered: * Corn fritter cups with baked Kelp * Tom Kha Goong - mild spicy sour soup with coconut milk, and we changed chicken to shrimp. * Shrimp Pad Thai * Blueberry Panna Cotta * Free Thai lime iced tea with Yelp check-in and purchase of entree

love this thai place!! its the best thai food around. Very healthy and not greasy. I like their organic chicken spring rolls and short rib curry yummy! I never dine at the location and always order take out. It might even taste better there!. Im just sad because they are temporary closed at the moment for an emergency. I dont know when they will be open again. hopefully its not a permanent closure.

Their phone doesnt work, so clearly they are losing a lot of business. I love Thai food and Im glad there is another Thai place in the Los Alamitos area, but unfortunately it isnt very good. There is only ONE noodle dish on the menu. ONE. What a horrible idea. Their prices are too high and the menu is way too small. Save your money.

Great food for a reasonable price. We ordered Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles to go. Portion sizes were decent, although not large. The flavor was delicious. Ingredients were high quality. Packaging was better than the average Thai restaurant.

I found the restaurant in an innocuous strip mall - and WOW was I blown away. The fusion of Thai and French was refreshing and a surprisingly delicious twist. I cant wait to go again and devour the menu!
